        드라마 텍스트와 읽기의 즐거움 : 유튜브 ‘드라마 리뷰’ 채널의 사례를 중심으로

        이 연구는 드라마를 텍스트로서 읽는 현상에 주목하고 그 읽기의 양상을 ‘즐거움’의 측면에서 살펴봄으로써 읽기 연구의 시사를 도출하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 텍스트 읽기에 대한 확장된 관점의 필요성을 논하였으며, 이러한 논의의 가치를 입증할 수 있는 연구 사례로 유튜브 드라마 리뷰 채널에 대한 사례 분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과, 리뷰 채널의 참여자들은 드라마 리뷰를 생산 및 공유하는 가운데 1) 텍스트의 호명에 ‘응답’하며 노는 즐거움, 2) 해석 공동체에 ‘참여’하는 즐거움, 3) 해석 및 담론에 대한 ‘의미 경쟁’을 통한 즐거움, 그리고 4) 텍스트 앞에서 ‘나’와 ‘우리’의 삶을 마주하는 즐거움 등 다양한 읽기의 즐거움을 향유하고 있었다. 이러한 즐거움은 리뷰 채널의 참여자들이 더 깊이 드라마를 분석 및 해석하고, 더 적극적으로 리뷰 생산 및 공유에 참여하게 하는 등 드라마를 텍스트로서 읽는 실천의 동력으로 작용하였다. 이상의 분석을 통해 읽기 연구에 대한 시사점을 도출하였다. This study focuses on the phenomenon of reading dramas as texts to examine the aspects of reading dramas in terms of pleasure in order to draw implications for reading research. To this end the necessity of an extended perspective on text reading is discussed. In addition, a case analysis of the YouTube “Drama Review” channel was conducted to demonstrate the value of this discussion. As a result of the analysis, participants in the review channel reported enjoying the following four types of pleasure while producing and sharing drama reviews: 1) the pleasure of playing while “responding” to the call in the text, 2) the pleasure of “participating” in the interpretation community, 3) the pleasure of “meaning competition,” and 4) the pleasure of “facing” the lives of “me” and “us” through the text. This pleasure allowed the participants of the review channel to analyze and interpret the drama more deeply, which is the driving force behind reading the drama as a text and which also encourages more active participation in producing and sharing reviews. Through the above analysis, implications for reading research were derived.

        아이코닉 건축을 활용한 장소브랜딩에 대한 소프트 시스템 방법론적 해석

        (연구배경 및 목적) 관광산업의 팽창과 관광객 유치의 경쟁 속에서 한때 번영하였지만 쇠락한 지역들이 이미지를 부흥하려는 방법으로 아이코닉 건축이 장소 브랜드 아이덴티티로 사용되고 있다. 하지만 일부 아이코닉 건축은 대중의 외면을 받고 문을 닫았다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 아이코닉 건축을 활용한 장소 브랜딩에 대하여 소프트시스템 방법론적으로 해석하여 개념적 모델을 정립을 통해 향 후 활용 할 수 있는 초석을 마련하고자 한다. (연구방법) 연구의 방법은 먼저 문헌 조사하여 아이코닉 건축의 선행연구를 고찰하여 그 특징에 대해서 추출하였다. 그리고 소프트 시스템 방법론을 사용하여 사례조사를 통해 본질정의 (Root definition)를 수행하고 아이코닉 건축을 활용한 장소브랜딩의 개념적 모형을 제시하였다. (결과) 아이코닉 건축은 지역주민의 자긍심을 높여주고 관광객에게 새로운 볼거리를 제공하여 지역 부흥을 위해 장소브랜딩의 하나로 주변 관광지와 연계될 수 있도록 민간 혹은 지역 정부에 의해 건립된다. 국제 디자인사나 지역회사에 의해 설계되며 특화된 공법을 실현하기 위해 엔지니어 회사와 협력하여 건설된다. 주로 노후화된 시장이나 중공업이나 철강업, 광업, 제조업이 쇠락한 지역에 전략적인 상징이 되기 위해 건립되어 장소 브랜딩 아이덴티티로서 역할을 한다. 핵심적인 위치에서 조망 가능하며 지역성을 반영하여 지역의 새로운 비전을 은유적으로 상징하여 혁신적인 조형을 이룬다. 건축의 기능은 미래의 비전을 조형성과 함께 효율적으로 뒤 받침 할 수 있는 필수적인 것으로 상시운영 된다. (결론) 개념적 모형을 통한 제안사안은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역 정부는 선행적으로 지역이미지를 이루고 있는 지역의 자원, 문화, 역사를 고려해 핵심가치를 선별하고 새로운 비전을 우선하여 타겟 지역 이미지를 선정한다. 둘째, 지역 정부는 건축의 조망이 가능한 핵심 위치를 선정한다. 셋째, 지역 정부는 건축에 비전과 일치하는 필수적 기능을 부여하고 상시로 운영될 수 있도록 운영사를 선정하여 연속성 있는 이미지의 발신이 가능하게 한다. 넷째, 설계자는 지역의 정보를 연상시킬 수 있는 지역성과 지역의 새로운 비전을 은유적으로 반영하여 혁신적인 조형을 디자인한다. 아이코닉한 외관을 완성하기 위해서 혁신적인 조형성을 제시하며 엔지니어링사 및 시공사와 협업한다. 다섯째, 미디어와 협업하여 효과적으로 대중과 커뮤니케이션 될 수 있도록 하고 주변 관광지와 연계하여 이미지를 형성시키며 상시적인 이벤트로 지역민들에게 상징으로 자리잡도록 관리한다. (Background and Purpose) Iconic architecture is used as a place brand identity as a way to revive the image of the declining regions, aiming the expansion of the tourism industry and competing to attract tourists. However, Some of the iconic architecture has been neglected by the public, causing wasting public budget. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to establish a conceptual model of iconic architecture from the perspective of place branding using Soft systems methodology, which can be used for the construction of iconic architecture in the future. (Method) The method of the study was first investigated in the literature of iconic architecture were examined to find its characteristics. In addition, 'Rich picture' was drawn followed by 'Problem situation'. Thus, 'Root definition' was derived through case studies using 'CATWOE' analysis. Based on prior steps, the conceptual model of place branding using iconic architecture was presented. (Result) The iconic architecture is built by private company or local governments to increase the pride of local residents and provide new sights for tourists. it is connected with nearby tourist attractions and served as one of place branding identity for regional revival. It is designed by an international or local architect and is built in cooperation with an engineer company to realize specialized construction methods. It is mainly built to become a strategic symbol in an aging market, an area where heavy industry, steel, mining, and manufacturing are in decline. It can be viewed from a prime location and reflects regionality to metaphorically symbolize the new vision of the region by innovative shape. The function of architecture is essential to efficiently support the vision of the future along with shaping. (Conclusions) The agenda was made from conceptual model is as below. First, the local government selects the core value by considering the resources, culture, and history of the region that forms the regional image, and selects the target region image by prioritizing the new vision. Second, the local government plans a prime location. Third, the local government assigns essential functions that match the vision to the architecture and selects an all time operator therefore, the brand communication is contiguously enable. Fourth, architects design innovative shape by metaphorically reflecting the local vision and the new vision of the region, which can reminiscent of local information by the public. Fifth, Media collaborating is essential to form an image in connection with nearby tourist spots, and managing it as a symbol for local people as a regular event. Therefore, iconic architecture eventually can become the symbol of the region and forming image of the region.

        Transformation of Mouse Liver Cells by Methylcholanthrene Leads to Phenotypic Changes Associated with Epithelial-mesenchymal Transition

        Environmental pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) have been implicated in cancer development and progression. However, the effects of PAHs on carcinogenesis are still poorly understood. Here, we characterized a mouse cancer cell line BNL 1ME A. 7R.1 (1MEA) derived by transformation of non-tumorigenic liver cell line BNL CL.2 (BNL) using 3-methylcholanthrene (3MC), a carcinogenic PAH. RT-PCR and immunoblot analysis were used to determine the expression level of mRNA and proteins, respectively. To determine functionality, cell motility was assessed in vitro using a transwell migration assay. Both mRNA and protein levels of E-cadherin were significantly decreased in 1MEA cells in comparison with BNL cells. While the expression levels of mesenchymal markers and related transcription factors were enhanced in 1MEA cells, which could lead to increase in cell motility. Indeed, we found that 7-day exposure of BNL cells to 3-MC reduced the level of the adhesion molecule and epithelial marker Ecadherin and increased reciprocally the level of the mesenchymal marker vimentin in a dose-dependent manner. Taken together, these results indicate that the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) may be activated during premalignant transformation induced by 3-MC. A mechanism study to elucidate the relation between 3-MC exposure and EMT is underway in our laboratory.

        Near-lossless Image Compression Algorithm to Reduce the Memory Bandwidth of Display Devices

        Recently, as the spread of ultra-high definition (UHD) display devices has become more active, considerable data bandwidth is required between the display and external memory. Compression of data can be applied to reduce memory bandwidth, but that can lead to degradation of image quality. So, in this paper, we propose a near-lossless compression algorithm that reduces memory bandwidth and minimizes image quality degradation for hardware implementation. The proposed algorithm is based on two-line memory–based prediction and transformation. Also, it improves the performance of quantization through one-dimensional (1-D) discrete cosine transform (DCT). In rate control, quantization parameters are determined using both horizontal and vertical information to improve efficiency. Finally, a partial update is implemented to enable selective decoding of images. Experimental results show that the proposed method is superior in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio while maintaining a high compression ratio.

      • Programmable Materials and Structures for Next Generation Robotics

        A robot is a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically, mimicking forms and functions of specific living organisms, such as human, cheetah, octopus, etc. Beyond mimicking biomimetic forms, if we are able to directly program the morphology, properties and transformation of a robot body in situ, the boundary between virtual and real world will be dramatically blurred. Therefore, our group aims to develop robotic matters and systems capable of programming its morphologies, physical properties and functions. In this paradigm of robotics, challenges require the innovation in all level of system including materials, components, architectures to integrate them, manufacturing process and operation. In this talk, I introduce recent research outcomes in our group, including programmable smart materials, metamaterial structures, 4D printing methods and soft robotic applications, and try to share my visions for next generation robotics.

      • Distribution of BRCA1/2 mutation and clinical outcomes in epithelial ovarian, peritoneal, fallopian tube cancer: based on multicenter real-world data

        Objective: This study aimed to review multicenter real-world data for BRCA1/2 gene test and clinical outcomes in epithelial ovarian, peritoneal, fallopian tube cancer. Methods: We reviewed the patients who underwent primary surgery and adjuvant treatment between January 2009 and December 2021 in Seoul, Yeouido, and Incheon St. Marys hospital, the college of medicine, the catholic university of Korea. The following data were retrospectively obtained for analysis: clinical factors such as patient age, levels of tumor markers (CA 125, CA 19-9); International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage at diagnosis, histological types, and BRCA 1/2 gene test. Results: In total, 652 patients were evaluated and 237 patients (36.3%) were tested BRCA 1/2 mutation. Among all patients who received BRCA 1/2 test, 62 patients (26.2%) were noted BRAC 1/2 mutation. The other of 136 patients (57.4%) were resulted wild type and 39 patients (16.4%) were done variants of uncertain significance. In BRCA1/2 mutation group, 53 had high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC, n = 53) and 9 had non-HGSOC, consisting of endometrioid carcinoma (n = 5), clear cell carcinoma (n = 2), and mixed carcinoma (n = 2). The portion of HGSOC in BRCA 1/2 mutation group was significant higher than that of BRCA wild type (85.8% versus 61.0%, p<0.001). Overall survival and level of CA 125 of BRCA1/2 mutation group were significantly higher than those of BRCA 1/2 wild group (60.4 vs. 42.9 months, 1750 vs. 1272 mg/dl, respectively). However, only BRCA 1/2 result was reported significantly difference in multivariate logistic regression (Odd ratio: 4.73, 95% confidential Interval, 1.53 to 14.6, p=0.007). Although 26 patients of BRCA 1/2 mutation group were treated PARP inhibitor for maintenance therapy, the use of PARP inhibitor was not significant meaning in multivariate logistic regression. Conclusion: BRCA 1/2 mutation test was essential for epithelial ovarian, peritoneal, and fallopian tube cancer regardless of histologic findings.

      • Hobnail-like shallow Electrosurgical Excision Prosedure(HEEP) for the treatment of HSIL: prevention of IIOC

        Objective: We knew that conventional conization can make the incompetent internal os of cervix, which can induce the abortion and preterm delivery. So, we try to minimize the removed volume after conization. Methods: 34 young patients with HSIL ( final diagnosis: CIS or cervical cancer FIGO stage IA1 ) were enrolled in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of St. Vincent\’s Hospital from Jan. 2014 to Aug. 2018. We treated those patients with Hobnail-like shallow Electrosurgical Excision Prosedure(HEEP) of uterine cervix for the treatment HSIL. Results: 4 women experienced 5 pregnancies. 4 of 5 pregnancies were kept more than 34 gestation weeks. Furthermore, all of 5 pregnancies gave healthy live births. Conclusion: HEEP could be considered as a treatment of choice for HSIL.
