        SYNTHESIS AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF GRAPHENE/MnO2/CONDUCTING POLYMER TERNARY COMPOSITE FOR SUPERCAPACITORS

        Graphene(RGO)/MnO2/[N-butyl-3,6-carbazolevinylene-alt-(2,5-dioctyloxy)-p-phenylenevinylene] (PPH–CAR) ternary nanocomposite is fabricated by a simple two-step method, which includes electrochemical reduction of graphene oxide (GO) and oxidation of Mn(CH3COO)2 simultaneously and an ultrathin PPH–CAR layer coated on the RGO/MnO2 surface. The structure of the composite is investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The results suggest that the composite is correctly synthesized and each component has good dispersion. Cycle voltammetry (CV), charge and discharge measurements and cycle stability test are used to evaluate its electrochemical performance. Because of the synergistic effect of each component, the composite exhibits excellent electrochemical properties with specific capacitance of 175 F/g, which is a 46% increase compared with RGO/MnO2. Moreover, it reveals outstanding cycling performance with more than 90% capacitance retention over 1000 cycles. Such ternary composite is a candidate for high performance supercapacitors with great promise.

        PREPARATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A POLY(PYRROLYL METHANE)/MULTIWALLED CARBON NANOTUBES COMPOSITES

        A poly(pyrrolyl methane) (Poly[pyrrole-2, 5-diyl(4-methoxybenzylidane)], PPDMOBA)/multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) composites are fabricated by in situ chemical polycondensation of pyrrole and 4-methoxybenzaldehyde on MWNTs. The structure, morphology, thermal stability and electrical property of the resulting composites are investigated via fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and a four-probe method. The electrochemical performance of the composites is determined in a three-electrode system using cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic charge–discharge (GCD) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. FTIR, FESEM and TEM confirm that the composites have been successfully prepared, and PPDMOBA is uniformly dispersed in MWNTs. Electrical conductivity of PPDMOBA/MWNTs composites is 1.39 S cm-1, which is significantly larger than that of pristine PPDMOBA. The specific capacitance and charge transfer resistance of the composites is 56 F g-1 (1 mA cm-2) and 0.3Ω, respectively.

        Assembly mechanisms of soil bacterial communities in subalpine coniferous forests on the Loess Plateau, China

        Microbial community assembly is affected by trade-offs between deterministic and stochastic processes. However, the mechanisms underlying the relative influences of the two processes remain elusive. This knowledge gap limits our ability to understand the effects of community assembly processes on microbial community structures and functions. To better understand community assembly mechanisms, the community dynamics of bacterial ecological groups were investigated based on niche breadths in 23 soil plots from subalpine coniferous forests on the Loess Plateau in Shanxi, China. Here, the overall community was divided into the ecological groups that corresponded to habitat generalists, ‘other taxa’ and specialists. Redundancy analysis based on Bray-Curtis distances (db-RDA) and multiple regression tree (MRT) analysis indicated that soil organic carbon (SOC) was a general descriptor that encompassed the environmental gradients by which the communities responded to, because it can explain more significant variations in community diversity patterns. The three ecological groups exhibited different niche optima and degrees of specialization (i.e., niche breadths) along the SOC gradient, suggesting the presence of a gradient in tolerance for environmental heterogeneity. The inferred community assembly processes varied along the SOC gradient, wherein a transition was observed from homogenizing dispersal to variable selection that reflects increasing deterministic processes. Moreover, the ecological groups were inferred to perform different community functions that varied with community composition, structure. In conclusion, these results contribute to our understanding of the trade-offs between community assembly mechanisms and the responses of community structure and function to environmental gradients.

        Electrospun Li2MnO3-Modified Li1.2NixCo0.1Mn0.9-xO2 Nanofibers: Synthesis and Enhanced Electrochemical Performance for Lithium-Ion Batteries

        The Li2MnO3-modified Li1.2NixCo0.1Mn0.9-xO2 (x = 0.2, 0.45, 0.7)as cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries have beensuccessfully synthesized by a simple electrospinning process. Thestructure, morphology and electrochemical performances of theresulting products are studied systematically. The as-preparedLi2MnO3-modified Li1.2NixCo0.1Mn0.9-xO2 (x = 0.2, 0.45, 0.7) with adiameter of 200-300 nm has an initial discharge capacity of168.740 mAh·g−1, coulombic efficiency of 99.6% and a reversiblecapacity as high as 139.016 mAh·g−1 after 200 cycles at a currentrate of 0.2 C. The excellent electrochemical performances ofwhich are attributed to the stabilization of Li2MnO3 structure, therole of Li2MnO3 is contribute extra lithium to the reversiblecapacity and to facilitate Li+ transport through the structure.

        특허 빅데이터 군집분석을 통한 항공보안 미래기술 예측

        항공 보안 기술은 미국의 9.11 테러를 기점으로 급격히 발전했지만 최근 발생한 지능적인 항공 테러로 인해 이를 해결하기 위한 진보된 항공 보안 기술 개발이 더욱 시급해졌다. 더욱 지능적으로 변해가는 범죄에 따른 위험을 감지하고 테러단체의 위협적인 행동으로부터 승객을 보호하고, 공항의 정상적인 운영을 방해하는 불법 행위를 차단하기 위해 항공 보안 기술에 정보통신기술(information & communication technology, ICT)을 융합한 ‘ICT 융합 보안 기술’ 등 진보된 항공 보안 기술이 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 주요 국가의 항공 보안 기술개발에 대한 특허동향을 분석하여 기술 트렌드를 파악하였고, 텍스트마이닝 기법을 사용하여 특허를 군집화하고 주요 시장국의 부상 기술과 공백 기술을 예측하였다. 또한 이에 대한 성능 평가를 진행하여 특허 군집화를 통한 예측 결과의 타당성을 확보하였다. 나아가 국제특허분류(international patent classification, IPC)코드의 빈도를 분석하고 연관규칙마이닝 기법을 사용하여 한국 특허에 대한 기술 연관성을 파악하였고, 이를 통해 국내 항공 보안 기술개발전략을 도출하였다. Aviation security technology has been emphasized than ever, since the 9.11 terror attacks in the United States. However, recent aviation terrors around the world made the urgent development of advanced aviation security technology inevitable. Information & communication technology(ICT) has recently been integrated to protect passengers from the threats by terrorist organizations and to prevent illegal activities that obstruct daily operations of airports. The development of advanced ICT-converged security technologies undergo to respond to various security concerns. In this paper, we analyze the trends in patents regarding aviation security technology from major countries and we predict the market’s emerging and non-existent technologies by using text mining techniques. In addition, we conduct a performance evaluation and acquire the validity of the prediction results through patent clustering. Furthermore, we analyze the frequency of IPC(international patent classification) codes and identify their relationships to Korean patents by using association rule mining techniques.

        Effects of Water-Soluble Ganoderma lucidum Polysaccharides on the Immune Funtions of Patients with Advanced Lung Cancer

        Preclinical studies have established that the polysaccharide fractions of Ganoderma lucidumhave potential an-titumor activity. Recent clinical studies have demonstrated that G. lucidumpolysaccharides enhance host immune functions[e.g., enhanced natural killer (NK) cell activity] in patients with advanced solid tumors, although an objective response wasnot observed. This open-label study aimed to evaluate the effects of water-soluble G. lucidumpolysaccharides (Ganopoly??,Encore International Corp., Auckland, New Zealand) on immune functions in patients with advanced lung cancer. Thirty-sixpatients were enrolled and treated with 5.4 g/day Ganopoly for 12 weeks. In the 30 cancer patients who completed the trial,treatment with Ganopoly did not significantly alter the mean mitogenic reactivity to phytohemagglutinin, mean counts of CD3,CD4, CD8, and CD56, mean plasma concentrations of interleukin (IL)-2, IL-6, and interferon (IFN)-., or NK activity in thepatients, but the results were significantly variable. However, some cancer patients demonstrated markedly modulated im-mune functions. The changes in IL-1 were correlated with those for IL-6, IFN-., CD3, CD8, and NK activity (P. .05), andIL-2 changes were correlated with those for IL-6, CD8, and NK activity. The results suggest that subgroups of cancer patientsmight be responsive to Ganopoly in combination with chemotherapy/radiotherapy. Further studies are needed to explore theefficacy and safety of Ganopoly used alone or in combination with chemotherapy/radiotherapy in lung cancer patients.
