        A Model Stacking Algorithm for Indoor Positioning System using WiFi Fingerprinting

        With the development of IoT and artificial intelligence, location-based services are getting more and more attention. For solving the current problem that indoor positioning error is large and generalization is poor, this paper proposes a Model Stacking Algorithm for Indoor Positioning System using WiFi fingerprinting. Firstly, we adopt a model stacking method based on Bayesian optimization to predict the location of indoor targets to improve indoor localization accuracy and model generalization. Secondly, Taking the predicted position based on model stacking as the observation value of particle filter, collaborative particle filter localization based on model stacking algorithm is realized. The experimental results show that the algorithm can control the position error within 2m, which is superior to KNN, GBDT, Xgboost, LightGBM, RF. The location accuracy of the fusion particle filter algorithm is improved by 31%, and the predicted trajectory is close to the real trajectory. The algorithm can also adapt to the application scenarios with fewer wireless access points.

        A Synchronization Scheme Based on Moving Average for Robust Audio Watermarking

        The synchronization scheme based on moving average is robust and suitable for the same rule to be adopted inembedding watermark and synchronization code, but the imperceptibility and search efficiency is seldomreported. The study aims to improve the original scheme for robust audio watermarking. Firstly, the survival ofthe algorithm from desynchronization attacks is improved. Secondly, the scheme is improved in inaudibility. Objective difference grade (ODG) of the marked audio is significantly changed. Thirdly, the imperceptibility ofthe scheme is analyzed and the derived result is close to experimental result. Fourthly, the selection of parametersis optimized based on experimental data. Fifthly, the search efficiency of the scheme is compared with those ofother synchronization code schemes. The experimental results show that the proposed watermarking schemeallows the high audio quality and is robust to common attacks such as additive white Gaussian noise,requantization, resampling, low-pass filtering, random cropping, MP3 compression, jitter attack, and time scalemodification. Moreover, the algorithm has the high search efficiency and low false alarm rate.

      • Analysis of shear lag effect in the negative moment region of steel-concrete composite beams under fatigue load

        Shear lag effect was a significant mechanical behavior of steel-concrete composite beams, and the effective flange width was needed to consider this effect. However, the effective flange width is mostly determined by static load test. The cyclic vehicle loading cases, which is more practical, was not well considered. This paper focuses on the study of shear lag effect of the concrete slab in the negative moment region under fatigue cyclic load. Two specimens of two-span steel-concrete composite beams were tested under fatigue load and static load respectively to compare the differences in the negative moment region. The reinforcement strain in the negative moment region was measured and the stress was also analyzed under different loads. Based on the OpenSees framework, finite element analysis model of steel-concrete composite beam is established, which is used to simulate transverse reinforcement stress distribution as well as the variation trends under fatigue cycles. With the established model, effects of fatigue stress amplitude, flange width to span ratio, concrete slab thickness and shear connector stiffness on the shear lag effect of concrete slab in negative moment area are analyzed, and the effective flange width ratio of concrete slab under different working conditions is calculated. The simulated results of effective flange width are compared with calculated results of the commonly used specifications, and it is found that the methods in the specifications can better estimate the shear lag effect in concrete slab under static load, but the effective flange width in the negative moment zone under fatigue load has a large deviation.

        Fundamental Study on the Development of Pure Magnesium Parts by Additive Manufacturing: An Experimental and Computational Analysis

        The low density and high biocompatibility of Mg-based materials make them suitable for lightweight structural and biomedicalapplications. In this study, we explored the use of selective laser melting (SLM)–an additive manufacturing processwherein metal powders are consolidated in a layer-by-layer manner, allowing the fabrication of complex components. SLMtypically involves complex physicochemical phenomena and results in laser-processing defects, which makes it difficult topredict the densification mechanisms of the melt pool. Therefore, a full-scale model was developed to investigate the thermalbehavior of the melt pool (e.g., temperature gradient distribution, melt pool dimensions, and cooling rate) and the resultantdensification activity under various laser energy density (η) values. In parallel, experimental investigations of the densificationbehavior and microstructural evolution were undertaken with the same SLM processing parameters. The challengesassociated with the SLM processability of Mg were comprehensively addressed. Both the peak temperature gradients withinthe molten pool and molten pool dimensions increased with increasing η, and an opposite trend was observed for the coolingrate. A low η (i.e., high scanning speed) results in a low operating temperature and short liquid lifetime, which in turn leadto poor wettability and many pore-chain and balling defects. However, high η values generated melt pool instability, whichresulted in extensive evaporation, cracks, and porosity. The SLM-processed samples had fine twin-like microstructures asa result of rapid solidification. The experimental and simulation results agreed well, validating the thermal behavior of themolten pool and underlying physical mechanism.

        Adverse effect of DEHP exposure on the serum insulin level of Balb/c mice

        Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is a common indoor pollutant in the world, which may cause lots of harmful effects in human including diabetes according to epidemiological studies. To explore the underlying role of DEHP in diabetes-like symptoms, Balb/c mice were chose to be the experimental animals in this paper. They were separated as eight groups as follows: (1) saline+normal diet (vehicle control), (2) 10 mg/kg.day DEHP+normal diet, (3) 50 mg/kg.day DEHP+normal diet, (4) 250 mg/kg.day DEHP+normal diet, (5) streptozotocin (STZ)+high fat diet (diabetes model), (6) 10 mg/kg.day DEHP+ STZ+high fat diet, (7) 50 mg/kg.day DEHP+STZ +high fat diet, (8) 250 mg/kg.day DEHP+STZ+high fat diet. The biomarkers of this experiment include four groups: (1) general indicates: body weight and drinking water, (2) blood biomarkers: serum insulin and fasting glucose, (3) pathological examination: pancreas section and kidney section, and (4) biomarkers of oxidative stress: reactive oxygen species (ROS) and malondialdehyde (MDA) in liver cells. Our study results demonstrate that: (1) at our treatment levels DEHP cannot directly induce diabetes, but reduce serum insulin level in DEHP-exposed non-STZ-treated animals, (2) pathological examination finds that these is a dose-dependent damage in the pancreas in DEHP- exposed STZ-treated groups, and (3) the oxidative mechanism may be involved in this pathological process.

        Mutant IDH1 Enhances Temozolomide Sensitivity via Regulation of the ATM/CHK2 Pathway in Glioma

        Purpose Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutations are the most common genetic abnormalities in low-grade gliomas and secondary glioblastomas. Glioma patients with these mutations had better clinical outcomes. However, the effect of IDH1 mutation on drug sensitivity is still under debate. Materials and MethodsIDH1-R132H mutant cells were established by lentivirus. IDH1-R132H protein expression was confirmed by western blot. The expression of ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) signaling pathway and apoptosis-related proteins were detected by immunofluorescence and western blot. Temozolomide (TMZ) induced cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. Tumor cell proliferation was detected by Cell Counting Kit-8. In vivo nude mice were used to confirm the in vitro roles of IDH1 mutation.ResultsWe established glioma cell lines that expressed IDH1-R132H mutation stably. We found that TMZ inhibited glioma cells proliferation more significantly in IDH1 mutant cells compared to wild type. The IC50 of TMZ in IDH1-R132H mutant group was less than half that of wild-type group (p < 0.01). TMZ significantly induced more DNA damage (quantification of γH2AX expression in IDH1 mutation vs. wild type, p < 0.05) and apoptosis (quantification of AnnexinV+propidium iodide–cells in IDH1 mutation versus wild type, p < 0.01) in IDH1 mutant gliomas compared to wild-type gliomas. The ATM-associated DNA repair signal was impaired in IDH1 mutant cells. Inhibiting the ATM/checkpoint kinase 2DNA repair pathway further sensitized IDH1 mutant glioma cells to chemotherapy. We found that IDH1 mutation significantly inhibited tumor growth in vivo (the tumor size was analyzed statistically, p < 0.05). Moreover, we confirmed that gliomas with IDH1 mutation were more sensitive to TMZ in vivo compared to wild type significantly and the results were consistent with the in vitro experiment. ConclusionThese results provide evidence that combination of TMZ and ATM inhibitor enhances the antitumor effect in IDH1 mutant gliomas.

        Analysis of Operation Characteristics of a Diesel Generator Set with Constant‑Power Pulsed Load

        To improve the power quality of a diesel generator set with a pulsed load in a microgrid, this paper studied the operation characteristics of the system and proposed pulsed load conditions for an actual project based on test data. For a low average pulse power and a high peak power, a new mathematical model of the pulsed load in diferent operation modes was proposed. Then, a simulation model of the microgrid was established in MATLAB/Simulink, and the operation of the system was studied considering changes in various pulsed load parameters (the peak power Pk, output duty cycle D and switching period Ts). It was verifed by tests that the simulation model is efective and can refect the operation of the system. Based on the simulation model, the operation characteristics of the system with a bivariate pulsed load were studied, and qualifcation conditions for the diesel generator set in an actual project were proposed.
