To estimate the quality of the emergency medical services system of Wonju City, we studied the diurnal variations of 179 non-traumatic cardiac arrest victims who received cardiopulmonary reuscitation at the emergency center of Wonju Christian Hospital. Diurnal variations of non-traumatic cardiac arrest patients were as follows ; The occurence of cardiac arrest at day-time was higher than night-time; 18 cases (11%) from midnight to AM 4, 25 cases (14%) from AM 4 to AM 8, 42 cases (24%) from AM 8 to AM 12, 46 cases (25%) from AM 12 to PM 4, 35 cases (19%) from PM 4 to PM 8, 13 cases (7%) from PM 8 to midnight. Witness cardiac arrest was increased more during the day than night ; 40% from midnight to AM 4, 48% from AM 4 to AM 8, 57% from AM 8 to AM 12.52% from AM 12 to PM 4, 60% from PM 4 to PM 8, 38% from PM 8 to midnight. The transportation time at night-time cardiac arrest was more longer than day-time cardiac arrest ; 30±12mins from midnight to AM 4, 26±9mins from AM 4 to AM 8, 27±12mins AM 8 to Am 12, 25±11mins from AM 12 to PM 4, 25±9mins from PM 4 to PM 8, 35±15mins from PM 8 to midnight. The rate of restoration of spontaneous circulation(ROSC) in day-time cardiac arrest was higher than the night-time cardiac arrest ; 30% from midnight to AM 4, 36% from AM 4 to AM 8, 32% AM 8 to AM 12, 44% from AM 12 to PM 4, 41% from PM 4 to PM 8, 15% from PM 8 to midnight. The survival rate of cardiac arrest has been correlated with collapse time, early bystander CPR, early advanced care. To improve outcome for prehospital cardiac arrest, we concluded that early bystander CPR, and early advanced life support should be performed at the scene and during the transportation especially at night.
An Analysis of Carbide Tool Wear using Adhesive Wear Model
Jinn, Jong-Tae 울산대학교 1981 연구논문집 Vol.12 No.1
The present work is to analyze the effect of cutting temperature and the pther fundamental cutting paramenters on tool wear when high strength materials are machined. An analysis of carbide tool wear is carried out based on the mechanism of adhesive wear considering the effect of temperature. Both of the derived wear equation for glank and crater are arranged into the Taylor tool-life euqation and shown to be in accordance with the experimental results.
On the fail-safe design of tendon-driven manipulators with redundant tendons
Jinn-Biau Sheu,Tyng Liu,Jyh-Jone Lee 대한기계학회 2012 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.26 No.6
A tendon-driven manipulator having redundant tendons may possess more flexibility in operation, such as optimizing the performance of tendons, reducing the burden of each tendon, and providing fail-safe features. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the design of tendon-driven manipulators with a fail-safe feature, that is, to synthesize a system that may still remain controllable as any of the tendons have broken down or malfunctioned. Characteristics of tendon-driven manipulators are briefly discussed. Criteria for tendon-driven manipulators with redundant tendons and fail-safe feature are then established. Subsequently, constraints for such system are derived from the structure of tendon-driven manipulator. Associated with the criteria, manipulators can remain controllable when any of the tendons fails to function. Finally, a geometric method for determining the structure is developed. Examples of two-DOF and three-DOF tendondriven manipulators are demonstrated.
A Buck-Boost Type Charger with a Switched Capacitor Circuit
Jinn-Chang Wu,Hurng-Liahng Jou,Jie-Hao Tsai 전력전자학회 2015 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.15 No.1
In this paper, a buck-boost type battery charger is developed for charging battery set with a lower voltage. This battery charger is configured by a rectifier circuit, an integrated boost/buck power converter and a switched capacitors circuit. A boost power converter and a buck power converter sharing a common power electronic switch are integrated to form the integrated boost/buck power converter. By controlling the common power electronic switch, the battery charger performs a hybrid constant-current/constant-voltage charging method and gets a high input power factor. Accordingly, both the power circuit and the control circuit of the developed battery charger are simplified. The switched capacitors circuit is applied to be the output of the boost converter and the input of the buck converter. The switched capacitors circuit can change its voltage according to the utility voltage so as to reduce the step-up voltage gain of the boost converter when the utility voltage is small. Hence, the power efficiency of a buck-boost type battery charger can be improved. Moreover, the step-down voltage gain of the buck power converter is reduced to increase the controllable range of the duty ratio for the common power electronic switch. A prototype is developed and tested to verify the performance of the proposed battery charger.

Methods of the early detection of diseases are based on recognition of the smallest change in the levels of a disease-specific biomarker in body fluids. Among them, monitoring protein concentrations is crucial because most diseases are caused by dysregulated protein levels, rather than DNA or RNA levels. Recent studies have indicated that the proteins in the aqueous humor can be used as biomarkers to predict brain diseases. Therefore, mounting an insertion type sensor on the intraocular lens is a compelling candidate platform for monitoring potential brain disease patients. In particular, molecular reactive sensors that use affinity binding, such as molecularly imprinted hydrogels, allow simple label-free detection, as well as high bio-applicability and biocompatibility. Herein, we describe the fabrication of an optical sensor using a silica nanoparticle conjugated bioresponsive hydrogel to analyze protein biomarkers by measuring light interference in smartphone images. Conformational changes in biotin-conjugated hydrogels were observed through the presence of avidin, as a substitution for a novel biomarker, in interconnecting hydrogel networks. Uniformly arrayed nanoparticles interfered with light differently when the distance between the silica nanoparticles was varied according to target moiety binding. A blue-shift of the reflected light was evident in avidin solutions of up to 100 nM and was induced by shrinkage of the hydrogel. The results indicate that our well-defined, label-free bioresponsive hydrogel demonstrated strong potential to be widely applied as a bioresponsive light interfering hydrogel sensor.

Correlated primordial spectra in effective theory of inflation
Gong, Jinn-Ouk,Yamaguchi, Masahide American Physical Society 2017 Physical review. D Vol.95 No.8

We derive a direct correlation between the power spectrum and bispectrum of the primordial curvature perturbation in terms of the Goldstone mode based on the effective field theory approach to inflation. We show examples of correlated bispectra for the parametrized feature models presented by the Planck collaboration. We also discuss the consistency relation and the validity of our explicit correlation between the power spectrum and bispectrum.
