NMRe: a web server for NMR protein structure refinement with high-quality structure validation scores

<P><B>Summary:</B> Protein structure refinement is a necessary step for the study of protein function. In particular, some nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) structures are of lower quality than X-ray crystallographic structures. Here, we present NMRe, a web-based server for NMR structure refinement. The previously developed knowledge-based energy function STAP (Statistical Torsion Angle Potential) was used for NMRe refinement. With STAP, NMRe provides two refinement protocols using two types of distance restraints. If a user provides NOE (Nuclear Overhauser Effect) data, the refinement is performed with the NOE distance restraints as a conventional NMR structure refinement. Additionally, NMRe generates NOE-like distance restraints based on the inter-hydrogen distances derived from the input structure. The efficiency of NMRe refinement was validated on 20 NMR structures. Most of the quality assessment scores of the refined NMR structures were better than those of the original structures. 호텔상사의 비인격적 감독이 상사에 대한 신뢰를 매개로 일탈행동과 혁신행동에 미치는 영향 -심리적 임파워먼트의 조절효과-

최근 상사의 행동 중 폭력, 정신적 가학 등과 같은 어둡고 파괴적인 면에 관심을 기울이고 있다. 상사의 비인격적인 감독 행동은 지속적으로 폭력적 행동을 나타내면서 조직과 구성원들의 업무수행에 악영향을 미칠 수 있기에 조직발전을 위해서 매우 중요한 문제가 된다. 따라서 본 연구는 호텔상사의 비인격적 감독이 상사에 대한 신뢰, 일탈행동, 혁신행동에 미치는 영향과 함께 상사에 대한 신뢰와 일탈행동, 상사에 대한 신뢰와 혁신행동 간의 관계에서 심리적 임파워먼트의 조절효과를 확인하고자 한다. 호텔 구성원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상사의 비인격적 감독은 상사에 대한 신뢰에 부(-)의 유의적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 상사에 대한 신뢰가 일탈행동(대인일탈, 조직일탈)에 부(-)의 유의적 영향을 미치며 셋째, 상사에 대한 신뢰는 혁신행동에 정(+)의 유의적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 상사에 대한 신뢰와 혁신행동 간의 관계에서 심리적 임파워먼트의 조절 효과는 나타났으나 상사에 대한 신뢰와 일탈행동 간의 조절효과는 나타나지 않았다. 본 연구를 통해 상사의 비인격적 감독으로 나타날 수 있는 부정적 효과를 관리할 수 있는 방안과 효과적 리더십 개발을 위한 시사점을 제시하였다. Recently, attention has been given to the dark and destructive aspects of a boss's behavior, such as violence and psychological sadism. The supervisor's impersonal supervisory behavior is an important issue for organizational development because it can be detrimental to the organization and work performance due to continuously demonstrating violent behavior. Therefore, this study examines the effect of hotel boss's impersonal supervision on trust, deviant behavior, and innovation behavior, and the moderating effect of psychological empowerment on the relationship between trust in boss and deviant behavior, trust in boss and innovation behavior. The results of the survey for hotel members are as follows. First, it was found that the supervisor's impersonal supervision had a negative(-) significant effect on trust in the boss. Second, trust in boss had a significant negative(-) effect on deviant behavior(personal deviance, organizational deviance), and third, trust in boss had a significant positive(+) effect on innovation behavior. Fourth, the moderating effect of psychological empowerment was found in the relationship between trust in boss and innovative behavior, but there was no moderating effect between trust in boss and deviant behavior. Through this study, all suggestions such as for effective leadership development and ways to manage the negative effects of impersonal supervision of superiors were presented.

정신적 장애인의 취업과 임금에 영향을 미치는 사회적 배제 요인: 한국 장애인 고용 패널조사 종단분석

직업은 정신적 장애인의 경제적 및 사회적 독립생활을 가능케 하는 중요한 요소이나 정신적 장애인에 대한 사회적 배제로 인해 직업활동을 할 수 있는 사회적 여건이 충분히 조성되지 못해 왔다. 본 연구는 정신적 장애인의 취업 여부와 임금에 종단적으로 영향을 주는 요인을 사회적 배제의 관점에서 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2010년(3차)에서 2015년(8차)까지의 한국 장애인고용패널조사 데이터를 패널 토빗 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 성별이 남자일 때 여자보다 취업 가능성 및 임금이 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 장애 정도가 심하지 않을수록 취업 가능성과 취업 시 임금수준이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 사회적 배제 특성 중 기초보장수급 여부, 자격증 소지 여부, 건강상태, 사회참여수준이 종단적으로 취업확률과 임금에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 근거로 정신적 장애인의 취업과 임금에 대한 사회적 배제를 낮추는 정책적 함의에 대해 논의하였다. Despite the importance of employment of people with mental disabilities for their economic and social independence in their lives, the social conditions for employment activities have not been sufficiently established due to social exclusion for disability. The purpose of this study is to explore the longitudinal factors on their employment and wages of mentally disabled people from the perspective of social exclusion. For this purpose, panel Tobit analysis was used to analyze the Korea Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled data from 3rd to 8th Waves (2010-2015). The results are as follows: First, the possibility of employment and the level of wages in males were significantly higher than in females. Second, the less severe the degree of disability, the higher the possibility of employment and the wage level during employment. Third, as the social exclusion factors, the longitudinal effect of basic security income, license qualification, health status, and social participation were statistically significantly associated with their employment possibility and wage level. Based on these results, the policy implications for reducing social exclusion for persons with mental disabilities were discussed.

Large logistics centers are being built around the world. Most of these buildings have characteristics of long span and heavy load, and use PC (precast concrete) structure for quick construction. There have been few attempts to systematically analyze the various influencing factors of PC erection planning. In this study, we intend to analyze the influencing factors necessary for the creation of a sustainable PC erection planning algorithm.

Detection of Human Papillomavirus in Korean Breast Cancer Patients by Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction and Meta-Analysis of Human Papillomavirus and Breast Cancer

Background: Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a well-established oncogenic virus of cervical, anogenital, and oropharyngeal cancer. Various subtypes of HPV have been detected in 0% to 60% of breast cancers. The roles of HPV in the carcinogenesis of breast cancer remain controversial. This study was performed to determine the prevalence of HPV-positive breast cancer in Korean patients and to evaluate the possibility of carcinogenic effect of HPV on breast. Methods: Meta-analysis was performed in 22 case-control studies for HPV infection in breast cancer. A total of 123 breast cancers, nine intraductal papillomas and 13 nipple tissues of patients with proven cervical HPV infection were tested by real-time polymerase chain reaction to detect 28 subtypes of HPV. Breast cancers were composed of 106 formalin-fixed and paraffin embedded (FFPE) breast cancer samples and 17 touch imprint cytology samples of breast cancers. Results: The overall odds ratio between breast cancer and HPV infection was 5.43 (95% confidence interval, 3.24 to 9.12) with I2 = 34.5% in meta-analysis of published studies with case-control setting and it was statistically significant. HPV was detected in 22 cases of breast cancers (17.9%) and two cases of intaductal papillomas (22.2%). However, these cases had weak positivity. Conclusions: These results failed to serve as significant evidence to support the relationship between HPV and breast cancer. Further study with larger epidemiologic population is merited to determine the relationship between HPV and breast cancer.

Vision-based Tactile Sensor using Random Pattern

Tactile sensors are being used in various fields such as automated factories and human collaboration, and have been developed in various technological ways. Most contact discrimination methods are performed through sensing of the physical aspect. On the other hand, in recent years, a vision-based tactile sensor that can obtain more information by replacing the existing method with only visual data of an image using a camera sensor has been proposed. Existing visionbased tactile sensors have markers as a standard to detect changes or have a pattern of a certain shape and arrangement. We propose a vision-based tactile sensor that can estimate the position of a contact with an easy design and compact hardware size. As a vision-based tactile sensor is a sensor that acquires various information about contact through image processing of visual data, it is possible to update the function of a tactile sensor by making good use of the fact that it is possible only through algorithm development without a separate hardware reconfiguration. We plan to continue our research to obtain more detailed contact information such as accuracy, force, and direction of force.
