      • A Method of Extract News Events Based on Three Level Models

        In this paper, the method ofextract event from newspaper is proposed. First, the candidate sentences are select by using trigger word. Then, statistic models in three levels are consisted of extract model, which is sentences level, news level and topic level is used to extract event from candidate sentences and the probability of extracted events is calculated by three levels model. Finally, the method proposed in this paper is used to extract 4 type events. The experiment result shows this method have ideal effect on event extraction.

      • Study on the design for outdoor scene of kindergarten based on the cognitive development of children

        This paper describes an investigation on the spot for designing conducted in the outdoor play yards of kindergarten. Aiming at status quo of the designing for the outdoor environment of kindergarten, the conception of the scene-based design is put forward in this paper: The scene-based design is to construct a desired environment to meet the design principles and, more importantly, the need required for children’s physiological and mental development. The major aim is to supply abundant experiences which let the children be able to feel the space around them in the sense of emotional and visual perception. Basing on the children psychological traits, the question that how to design the scene-based space of being outdoors which can efficiently promote the cognitive development of children ranging from 5 to 6 years old is discussed in this paper. A “scene-based” approach to design and a data collection set including field notes of the children are coverd in the research. Qualitative analysis of these data revealed that high quality of outdoors enviroment for a kindergarten can greatly contribute to the cognitive development of children.

        Implementation of Excitatory CMOS Neuron Oscillator for Robot Motion Control Unit

        This paper presents an excitatory CMOS neuron oscillator circuit design, which can synchronize two neuron-bursting patterns. The excitatory CMOS neuron oscillator is composed of CMOS neurons and CMOS excitatory synapses. And the neurons and synapses are connected into a close loop. The CMOS neuron is based on the Hindmarsh-Rose (HR) neuron model and excitatory synapse is based on the chemical synapse model. In order to fabricate using a 0.18 um CMOS standard process technology with 1.8V compatible transistors, both time and amplitude scaling of HR neuron model is adopted. This full-chip integration minimizes the power consumption and circuit size, which is ideal for motion control unit of the proposed bio-mimetic micro-robot. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed excitatory CMOS neuron oscillator performs the expected waveforms with scaled time and amplitude. The active silicon area of the fabricated chip is 1.1 mm2 including I/O pads.

        Identification of Key Nodes in Microblog Networks

        A microblog is a service typically offered by online social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook. From the perspective of information dissemination, we define the concept behind a spreading matrix. A new WeiboRank algorithm for identification of key nodes in microblog networks is proposed, taking into account parameters such as a user’s direct appeal, a user’s influence region, and a user’s global influence power. To investigate how measures for ranking influential users in a network correlate, we compare the relative influence ranks of the top 20 microblog users of a university network. The proposed algorithm is compared with other algorithms — PageRank, Betweeness Centrality, Closeness Centrality, Out-degree — using a new tweets propagation model — the Ignorants-Spreaders-Rejecters model. Comparison results show that key nodes obtained from the WeiboRank algorithm have a wider transmission range and better influence.

        Factors Influencing the Quality of Standardized Treatment for Patients with Post–Cardiac Arrest Syndrome

        Background and Objectives: For the present study, we investigated the factors that influence the quality of standardized treatment for patients with post–cardiac arrest syndrome (PCAS) to improve the quality of PCAS treatment. Subjects and Methods: We collected data on patients with cardiac arrest (CA) who were admitted to the intensive care units (ICUs) of 11 hospitals-Class II Grade A or above-in Suzhou from January to October 2013. Indexes of standardized treatment were observed within 72 hrs of CA. We analyzed monitoring techniques, monitoring frequency, ICU human and material resources, and intensivists’ knowledge of PCAS treatment to explore how those factors affected the management of patients with PCAS. Results: The bed/nurse ratio and the frequency with which core temperature was recorded correlated closely with the implementation of therapeutic hypothermia (TH) within 6 hrs of CA. The bed/doctor ratio and intensivists’ knowledge about PCAS correlated closely with high-quality blood glucose control within 6 hrs of CA. Furthermore, the frequency with which core temperature was recorded was an independent factor influencing the quality of TH implementation, and the number times blood gas was analyzed was an independent factor influencing how well partial pressure of carbon dioxide was kept within the normal range in the 6 hrs after CA. Conclusion: The frequency of core temperature measurements and the number of times blood gas is analyzed are the most important factors influencing the quality of standardized treatment for patients with PCAS.

        A 12-bit Hybrid Digital Pulse Width Modulator

        In this paper, a 12-bit high resolution, power and area efficiency hybrid digital pulse width modulator (DPWM) with process and temperature (PT) calibration has been proposed for digital controlled DC-DC converters. The hybrid structure of DPWM combines a 6-bit differential tapped delay line ring-mux digital-to-time converter (DTC) schema and a 6-bit counter-comparator DTC schema, resulting in a power and area saving solution. Furthermore, since the 6-bit differential delay line ring oscillator serves as the clock to the high 6-bit counter-comparator DTC, a high frequency clock is eliminated, and the power is significantly saved. In order to have a simple delay cell and flexible delay time controllability, a voltage controlled inverter is adopted to build the deferential delay cell, which allows fine-tuning of the delay time. The PT calibration circuit is composed of process and temperature monitors, two 2-bit flash ADCs and a lookup table. The monitor circuits sense the PT (Process and Temperature) variations, and the flash ADC converts the data into a digital code. The complete circuits design has been verified under different corners of CMOS 0.18um process technology node.

      • An Improvement of Quasi-ARX Predictor to Control of Nonlinear Systems Using Nonlinear PCA network

        In this paper, a nonlinear principal component analysis(NPCA) is introduced to improve the quasi-ARX modeling. One part of the quasi-ARX model is an or dinary neurofuzzy network to parameterize the coefficients which faces to a problem of high dimension. NPCA is used for this part to deal with the problem. The processes of modeling, parameter estimating and control are given detailedly. Some simulations of systems controlling are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed modeling approach.

      • Interesting Rules Mining with Deductive Method

        In this paper, we propose a novel rule deductive method to mine the real demanded association rules for any given user. This method does not like the most existing methods that mine frequent itemsets starting from candidate two-itemsets to candidate (n-1)-itemsets with inductive method and produce huge rough rules on these frequent itemsets. On the contrary, it avoids producing huge amounts of frequent itemsets contained by their upper long frequent itemsets and can interact with users by making them pick up their interested items to deduce the final interesting association rules. Moreover, it can do dynamic response to users in any time when users want to check whether their interested frequent itemsets have been founded. Its several dynamic response strategies have been proposed. These dynamic response algorithms can find most long frequent itemsets in initial time. Therefore, users can find their interested rules in short time with high probability. So, our method also can be used applied in online data mining.

      • An Improved Backtracking Method for ED As Based Protein Folding

        Many Evolutionary Algorithm(EA) based methods have been proposed to solve protein structure prediction(PSP) problem in HP-lattice model. One of common difficulties of those methods is the existence of invalid individuals produced by geometrical constraints in the conformation of proten(i.e. self-avoidance in the chain). A backtracking method is often used to repair the invalid individuals of genetic search in those methods. However, there is a disadvantage in basic back tracking method, the repairing computational costis very heavy for long sequence instances. This paper proposes an improved back tracking-based repairing method for long sequence protein folding. A detection procedure is added in back tracking method to a void entering invalid closed are as when selecting directions for the residues. Experi-mental results show that the proposed method can significantly reduce the number of back tracking searching operations and the computational cost for the long protein sequences.
