        MOF-Derived Porous CeO2-x/C Nanorods and their Applications in Uric Acid Biosensor

        Selectivity is significant to the practical applications of electrochemical biosensors in clinical and diagnostic field. In this paper, porous CeO2-x/C nanorods (NRs) derived from Ce-based metal organic framework (MOF) were synthesized and employed as substrate to construct uric acid biosensors with high sensitivity and selectivity at low working potential. The morphology, microstructures and elemental states of as-prepared samples were investigated by SEM, XRD, TEM and XPS systematically. It was found that a great amount of oxygen vacancies was introduced into the interstitial of CeO2 and nonstoichiometric CeO2/C (CeO2-x/C) nanorods based on Ce-MOF were formed under calcination in Ar atmosphere. The increased oxygen vacancies enabled the negatively shifting of the working potential towards H2O2 detection for CeO2-x/C nanorods, favoring the construction of biosensors based on the detection of H2O2. Uric biosensors based on CeO2-x/C NRs exhibited a high sensitivity of 220.0 μA · cm -2 · mM -1 and a linear range from 50 μM to 1000 μM at working potential of -0.4 V versus SCE. It also exhibited superior selectivity toward interferents coexisting with uric acid in urine due to the low working potential.

        A CHARACTERIZATION OF SOME PGL(2, q) BY MAXIMUM ELEMENT ORDERS

        In this paper, we characterize some PGL(2, q) by their orders and maximum element orders. We also prove that PSL(2, p) with p ≥ 3 a prime can be determined by their orders and maximum element orders. Moreover, we show that, in general, if q = pn with p a prime and n > 1, PGL(2, q) can not be uniquely determined by their orders and maximum element orders. Several known results are generalized.

      • Degree of hydration-based thermal stress analysis of large-size CFST incorporating creep

        With the span and arch rib size of concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) arch bridges increase, the hydration heat of pumped mass concrete inside large-size steel tube causes a significant temperature variation, leading to a risk of thermal stressinduced cracking during construction. In order to tackle this phenomenon, a hydration heat conduction model based on hydration degree was established through a nonlinear temperature analysis incorporating an exothermic hydration process to obtain the temperature field of large-size CFST. Subsequently, based on the evolution of elastic modulus based on hydration degree and early-age creep rectification, the finite element model (FEM) model and analytical study were respectively adopted to investigate the variation of the thermal stress of CFST during hydration heat release, and reasonable agreement between the results of two methods is found. Finally, a comparative study of the thermal stress with and without considering early-age creep was conducted.

        A Simulation Study on the Depth Information of Motor Units

        Purpose The depth information of muscle motor units isimportant in clinical applications. The purpose of this paperis to investigate relationship between motor unit actionpotentials from surface electromyography and motor unit(MU) depth. Methods Firstly, the skin structure was depicted, and theaction potential was considered as a constant current source,which was generated by a tripole model. Secondly, thepotential generated by the tripole on the surface was given. Finally, the relationships between MU depth and MU actionpotential (MUAP) parameters on the skin were studied. Results The regression analysis showed a low relative errorfor the simulated signals. When the position of the detectedelectrodes was 18 mm, the linear regression analysis yielded2.47% in the case of arc, and 2.48% in the case of side. Therelationships between the peak to peak amplitude of MUAPand the lengths (arc and side) were tested by the nonlinearregression analysis. The sum of the squared errors was lessthan 0.0202, and the coefficient of determination was morethan 0.9939. Conclusions These results show that it is possible to estimateMU depth by action potentials on surface electrodes.

        Securing the AES Cryptographic Circuit Against both Power and Fault Attacks

        Aiming to protect cryptographic circuits against physical attacks, researchers have proposed a variety of mature and effective countermeasures. However, most of these defensive technologies are used for specific and single attack, thus it is hard to thwart combined attack, such as combined power and fault attacks. In this paper, we propose a dual complementary infection countermeasure for Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptographic circuit to defend against both power and fault attacks. According to the target AES circuit, we first design and construct a dual complementary AES circuit to defend against power attacks, which can balance the power consumption when processing different data. Besides, to defend against fault attacks, in the dual complementary AES circuit, we design an improved random infection mechanism to diffuse the effect of injected faults. Experiment results show that the proposed countermeasure can thwart both power and fault attacks effectively. Compared with those AES circuits which can only defend against single attack, our designed circuit increases greatly the security under extra 83.1% area overhead and 2.1% impacts on the maximum working frequency.

        An Empirical Study on the Strategies Adopted by EFL Learners to Learn Grammar through Concordances

        Studies on the use of electronic corpora1 in English language teaching and learning have mainly focused on their direct application to constructivist activities for learners,pattern induction and error-correction. This study, however, have investigated whether concordances2 will benefit learners with a lower level of English language proficiency. It has focused on the strategies that learners should adopt when they deal with concordances. This paper has been done with the goal of discovering what similarities and differences assisted among the concordancer3 and concordance strategies were employed by lower-intermediate level EFL learners, and also their reactions to this learning process. The objective of this study is to identify and report the processes and general trends, patterns, and strategies used by Chinese EFL learners, and try to recommend ways for them to use concordances effectively.

        Prediction on building vibration induced by moving train based on support vector machine and wavelet analysis

        Building vibration prediction induced by moving train can indicate the degree of vibration influence by moving train. With the predictionresults, the corresponding measurements can be used to reduce the influence of vibration. To obtain an accurate prediction result,support vector machine (SVM) is used in this paper. Since the error in the recorded data affects the prediction performance of SVM obviously,wavelet analysis is adopted to filter the input data. The prediction model based on SVM and wavelet analysis is validated by thedata of field experiments. The results show that the prediction model can provide a good performance compared with the measured values.

        Identification and functional prediction of long non-coding RNAs related to oxidative stress in the jejunum of piglets

        Objective: Oxidative stress (OS) is a pathological process arising from the excessive production of free radicals in the body. It has the potential to alter animal gene expression and cause damage to the jejunum. However, there have been few reports of changes in the expression of long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the jejunum in piglets under OS. The purpose of this research was to examine how lncRNAs in piglet jejunum change under OS. Methods: The abdominal cavities of piglets were injected with diquat (DQ) to produce OS. Raw reads were downloaded from the SRA database. RNA-seq was utilized to study the expression of lncRNAs in piglets under OS. Additionally, six randomly selected lncRNAs were verified using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT‒PCR) to examine the mechanism of oxidative damage. Results: A total of 79 lncRNAs were differentially expressed (DE) in the treatment group compared to the negative control group. The target genes of DE lncRNAs were enriched in gene ontology (GO) terms and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) signaling pathways. Chemical carcinogenesis-reactive oxygen species, the Foxo signaling pathway, colorectal cancer, and the AMPK signaling pathway were all linked to OS. Conclusion: Our results demonstrated that DQ-induced OS causes differential expression of lncRNAs, laying the groundwork for future research into the processes involved in the jejunum’s response to OS.

        스마트홈 사용성 향상을 위한 어포던스 이론 기반의 UI 디자인 연구 -한국과 중국 앱 사례 비교-

        현대 스마트홈 기술의 빠른 발전과 사용자들의 편리한 생활 방식에 대한 추구와 더불어, 스마트홈 앱 사용자 인터페이스(UI) 디자인의 중요성이 점점 더 커지고 있다. 사용자들이 이러한 스마트홈 앱을 사용하는 과정에서 UI 인터페이스의 사용성 문제가 지속적으로 발생하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 기능적 어포던스 디자인과 사용자 경험 디자인 간의 밀접한 관계에 주목하여, 스마트홈 앱 UI 디자인의 개선 전략을 탐구하고 구현하는 데 중점을 두었다. 이를 통해 사용자들이 보다 효율적이고 만족스러운 사용 경험을 얻을 수 있도록 하는 것이 본 연구의 목표이다. 첫째, 본 연구는 한국과 중국 시장에서 상위 랭킹을 차지하는 4개 스마트홈 앱을 선택했다. 둘째, 선행연구를 바탕으로 UI 디자인의 시각적 요소들을 조사하고, 네 가지 핵심 요소를 추출했다. 어포던스 관점에서 출발하여, Hartson이 제시한 어포던스 디자인의 네 가지 유형을 연구 기준으로 삼고, 이 스마트홈 앱의 네 가지 핵심 UI 디자인 요소에 대한 설문조사를 실시했다. 셋째, 설문조사와 SPSS데이터 분석을 통해, 한중 4개 스마트홈 앱 UI 디자인의 어포던스 디자인 차원에서 합리적인 개선 방법과 전략을 제안했다. 본 연구는 스마트홈 앱 UI 디자인의 핵심으로 사용자 경험을 강조하며, 미래 디자인에 대한 유효한 참고자료를 제공한다. 실증 연구와 사용자 피드백을 통해 미래 스마트홈 앱의 UI 디자인이 더욱 인간 친화적으로 발전하여 다양한 사용자 그룹의 요구를 충족시키고 더 나은 사용자 경험을 창출하기를 기대하는 바이다. The rapid development of modern smart home technology, coupled with users' pursuit of a convenient lifestyle, has increasingly highlighted the importance of smart home application user interface (UI) design. Users are continuously encountering usability issues with UI interfaces while using these smart home apps. Therefore, this study focuses on exploring and implementing improvement strategies for smart home app UI design, paying close attention to the close relationship between functional affordance design and user experience design. The goal of this research is to enable users to have a more efficient and satisfying usage experience. Firstly, this study selected four leading smart home applications in the Korean and Chinese markets. Secondly, based on prior research, it examined the visual elements of UI design and extracted four key elements. Starting from the perspective of affordance, the study used the four types of affordance design proposed by Hartson as the research standard and conducted a survey on the four key UI design elements of these smart home applications. Thirdly, through surveys and SPSS data analysis, the study proposed rational improvement methods and strategies for the affordance design dimensions of the UI design of these four Korean and Chinese smart home applications.This research emphasizes user experience as the core of smart home application UI design and provides valid reference material for future design. Through empirical research and user feedback, it is expected that the UI design of future smart home applications will develop to be more human-friendly, meeting the needs of various user groups and creating a better user experience.
