<P><B>Summary</B></P><P><P>Arabidopsis RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) C‐terminal domain (CTD) phosphatases regulate stress‐responsive gene expression and plant development via the dephosphorylation of serine (Ser) residues of the CTD. Some of these phosphatases (CTD phosphatase‐like 1 (CPL1) to CPL3) negatively regulate ABA and stress responses. Here, we isolated <I>AtCPL5</I>, a cDNA encoding a protein containing two CTD phosphatase domains (CPDs).</P><P>To characterize AtCPL5, we analyzed the gene expression patterns and subcellular protein localization, investigated various phenotypes of <I>AtCPL5</I>‐overexpressors and knockout mutants involved in ABA and drought responses, performed microarray and RNA hybridization analyses using <I>AtCPL5</I>‐overexpressors, and assessed the CTD phosphatase activities of the purified AtCPL5 and each CPD of the protein.</P><P>Transcripts of the nucleus‐localized AtCPL5 were induced by ABA and drought. <I>AtCPL5</I>‐overexpressors exhibited ABA‐hypersensitive phenotypes (increased inhibition of seed germination, seedling growth, and stomatal aperture), lower transpiration rates upon dehydration, and enhanced drought tolerance, while the knockout mutants showed weak ABA hyposensitivity. <I>AtCPL5</I> overexpression changed the expression of numerous genes, including those involved in ABA‐mediated responses. In contrast to Ser‐5‐specific phosphatase activity of the negative stress response regulators, purified AtCPL5 and each CPD of the protein specifically dephosphorylated Ser‐2 in RNAPII CTD.</P><P>We conclude that AtCPL5 is a unique CPL family protein that positively regulates ABA‐mediated development and drought responses in Arabidopsis.</P></P>

CO2 flooding is a significant technology for oil recovery, to reveal the microcosmic mechanism of CO2 flooding, CO2 slim tube experiments, long core CO2 flooding experiments, gas chromatography analysis experiments, and numerical simulations were carried out. The results show that the miscibility increase can improve the effect of dissolution and diffusion in the CO2-crude oil system, easing the CO2 finger entry phenomena, and delaying gas breakthrough time. Besides, the CO2 -crude oil interaction is enhanced by increasing the pressure difference between the injection well and the production well, which improves the oil recovery of CO2 flooding. Besides, CO2 carries the light and medium components (C4 ~ 25) forward to cross the first miscible zone, which makes the CO2-crude oil system form double miscible zones. This study reveals the rule of CO2 front and light components front under different miscibility degrees of CO2 flooding from the microscopic perspective and deepens the theory of CO2 flooding in low-permeability sandstone reservoirs.

Competitive direct ELISA was developed to detect gentamicin residues. Mice immunized with gentamicin-keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) conjugate developed good antiserum titers, which gradually increased with booster injections, indicating immunization was successfully processed. Monoclonal antibody against gentamicin was prepared using hybridoma cells cloned by limit dilution of fused cells. IgG was purified from ascites fluid of hybridoma cell-injected mice through ammonium sulfate precipitation and Sephadex G-25 gel filtration. After the gel filtration, fractions of high antibody titer were further purified through affinity chromatography on protein A/G column. Monoclonal antibody against gentamicin was confirmed as IgG1, which has kappa light chain. Cross-reactivities ($CR_{50}$) of gentamicin monoclonal antibody to other aminoglycosides (kanamycin, neomycin, and streptomycin) were less than 0.005%, indicating the monoclonal antibody was highly specific for gentamicin. Standard curve constructed through competitive direct ELISA showed measurement range (from 80 to 20% of B/$B_0$ ratio) of gentamicin was between 1 and 40 ng/ml, and 50% of B/$B_0$ ratio was about 4 ng/ml. The gentamicin concentration rapidly increased to 1,300 ng/ml after the intramuscular administration up to 2 h, then sharply decreased to less than 300 ng/ml after 4 h of withdrawal, during which the elimination half-life ($t_{1/2}$) of gentamicin in the rabbit plasma was estimated to be 1.8 h. Competitive direct ELISA method developed in this study using the prepared monoclonal antibody is highly sensitive for gentamicin, and could be useful for detecting gentamicin residues in plasma of live animals.

In general, anxiety refers to the specific emotional response by which a person feels when a negative outcome is predicted for an event to take place. However, researches on anxiety have mainly focused on psychopathological approaches to treat individual’s emotional disorders and there has been less interest in ‘anxiety’ as an indicator to predict consumers’ behavioral changes in the society. This research aims to figure out the effect of individual’s social anxiety on construal level and consumer preferences with the concept of anxiety that an individual feels in the society. In study 1, the relationship between individual's social anxiety and construal level was examined. In study 2, the effect of perceived social anxiety on the satisfaction for product attributes(emphasis on central attribute vs. peripheral attribute) and the mediating effect of construal level were examined. The result of study 1 shows the negative relationship between individual's social anxiety and constual level since construal level becomes lower when individual’s social anxiety is higher. Study 2 unveils that the indirect effect of peceived social anxiety on product satisfaction mediated by construal level is statistically significant for the product emphasizing on central attribute. In the case of emphasizing the peripheral attribute, anxiety shows only a direct effect on product satisfaction. Implication of this study is that anxiety in the modern society drives the low level construal which triggers the specific consumer behavior(e.g., preference for product emphasizing on peripheral attributes). So this research could provide the argument that some recent consumption trends might be caused by anxiety or lower construal level driven by precedented anxiety.

Combustion characteristics of a mixture of nano- and micron-sized aluminum powder in ice were experimentally studied. Round barshaped bare strand was casted with a frozen mixture of aluminum and water and then electrically ignited in the air or argon environment. Propagating flame was recorded using a camcorder with an optical filter. Burning rate, defined as the slope in the graph of average flame position movement versus time, was also evaluated. The burning velocity peaked at equivalence ratio (f) of 0.8. Flame propagation velocity increased with a pressure exponent of 0.61 for f = 0.8 and pressure range of 0.1–0.8 MPa. For nano/micro-mixture at f = 0.8, flame propagation was not feasible if the mass fraction of micron-sized particles in fuel is higher than 0.5.
Lateral Control for Ultra-low Altitude Airdrop Based on the L1 Adaptive Control Augmentation
Jinyong Chang,Jiahai Zhu,Ri Liu,Wen-han Dong 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2018 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.16 No.2
This paper presents a novel controller based on the L1 adaptive control to enhance the flight safety in the airdrop mission. An optimal controller produces the state feedback control signals, while a matched reference model is determined. First, we transform the system nonlinearity into the matched and unmatched uncertainty of the L1 control system. Then, leveraging the advantages of the outer loop PID controllers in the lateral deviation, we design the lateral flight control system. Simulation results reveal that the controllers present strong robustness, high adaptive gain, and suppress the undesirable high frequency dynamics.
