Background Neodymium oxide (Nd2O3) is a rare-earth metal oxide with extensive applications in various fields. Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs), which are molecules longer than 200 ribonucleotides, have attracted great attention toward their critical roles in modulating the response to cytotoxic agents such as Nd2O3. Objective This study aimed to explore the cytotoxic effects of Nd2O3 in 16HBE human bronchial epithelial cells, with a focus on the involvement of lncRNAs. Results Nd2O3 particle exposure increased extracellular lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release in a dose- and time-dependent manner. Viability assays indicated that Nd2O3 treatment reduced 16HBE cell survival, and comet assays confirmed the DNA-damaging effect of Nd2O3 exposure. Furthermore, Nd2O3 exposure induced an alteration in lncRNA expression profiles, contributing to the upregulation of lncRNA NONHSAT217600.1 in 16HBE cells. Functional experiments indicated that the inhibition of lncRNA NONHSAT217600.1 expression alleviated Nd2O3-induced cytotoxicity, suppressing LDH release, enhancing cell viability, and reducing DNA damage in 16HBE cells. Transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis suggested that lncRNA NONHSAT217600.1 participates in the regulation of DNA damage-related pathways as well as in other aspects of cellular function in response to Nd2O3. Conclusion This study demonstrates the regulatory roles of lncRNA NONHSAT217600.1 in Nd2O3-induced cytotoxicity, providing evidence for the potential of lncRNAs in the risk/hazard assessment of rare-earth element-related toxicity.

Based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory, this research only employs whether to meet consumer needs as a measure, and focuses on the Collaboration Series between Uniqlo and KAWS to discuss the influence of the collaboration between fashion brands and artists on consumer needs. What’s more, this paper also proposes whether the collaboration with artists as brands can meet the higher needs of consumers and influence new consumer groups. Finally, it is concluded that the collaboration between fashion brands and artists plays an active role in meeting the higher needs of consumers and can expand new consumer groups, which will provide reference and theoretical basis for enterprises to conduct collaboration with art, incorporate the needs of consumers into the scope of planning, and consider the collaboration with artists more comprehensively.

In this paper, we propose the distributed robust beamforming design scheme in cognitive two-way amplify-and-forward (AF) relay networks with imperfect channel state information (CSI). Assuming the CSI errors follow a complex Gaussian distribution, the objective of this paper is to design the robust beamformer which minimizes the total transmit power of the collaborative relays. This design will guarantee the outage probability of signal-to- interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) beyond a target level at each secondary user (SU), and satisfies the outage probability of interference generated on the primary user (PU) above the predetermined maximum tolerable interference power. Due to the multiple CSI uncertainties in the two-way transmission, the probabilistic constrained optimization problem is intractable and difficult to obtain a closed-form solution. To deal with this, we reformulate the problem to the standard form through a series of matrix transformations. We then accomplish the problem by using the probabilistic approach based on two sorts of Bernstein-type inequalities and the worst-case approach based on S-Procedure. The simulation results indicate that the robust beamforming designs based on the probabilistic method and the worst-case method are both robust to the CSI errors. Meanwhile, the probabilistic method can provide higher feasibility rate and consumes less power.
