      • Compound damping cable system for vibration control of high-rise structures

        Zhouquan Feng,Jianda Yu,Xiangqi Zhang,Hongxin Sun,Jian Peng 국제구조공학회 2022 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.29 No.4

High-rise structures prone to large vibrations under the action of strong winds, resulting in fatigue damage of the structural components and the foundation. A novel compound damping cable system (CDCS) is proposed to suppress the excessive vibrations. CDCS uses tailored double cable system with increased tensile stiffness as the connecting device, and makes use of the relative motion between the high-rise structure and the ground to drive the damper to move back-and-forth, dissipating the vibration mechanical energy of the high-rise structure so as to decaying the excessive vibration. Firstly, a thirdorder differential equation for the free vibration of high-rise structure with CDCS is established, and its closed form solution is obtained by the root formulas of cubic equation (Shengjin's formulas). Secondly, the analytical solution is validated by a laboratory model experiment. Thirdly, parametric analysis is conducted to investigate how the parameters affect the vibration control performance. Finally, the dynamic responses of the high-rise structure with CDCS under harmonic and stochastic excitations are calculated and its vibration mitigation performance is further evaluated. The results show that the CDCS can provide a large equivalent additional damping ratio for the vibrating structures, thus suppressing the excessive vibration effectively. It is anticipated that the CDCS can be used as a good alternative energy dissipation system for vibration control of high-rise structures.

      • A New ECT Image Reconstruction Algorithm Based on Convolutional Neural Network

Lanying Li,Yin Kong,Jianda Sun 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.9 No.11

In order to solve the problem of image reconstruction in electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) technology, the feasibility of applying convolutional neural network (CNN) to ECT image reconstruction is studied. The convolution layer and the training of the structure of the sub sampling method is improved based on deep research for convolution neural network for the more time-consuming process of deep structure and training issues, and a fast convergence convolution neural network (FCCNN) image reconstruction method is proposed. Matlab was used to build a ECT simulation system. For each algorithm, the simulation results were compared and analyzed. The experimental results show that our algorithm improved the image reconstruction efficiency and quality of the common flow pattern.

Fabry-Perot Filter Constructed with Anisotropic Space Layer and Isotropic Mirrors

        Hongji Qi,Yongqiang Hou,Kui Yi,Jianda Shao 한국광학회 2013 Current Optics and Photonics Vol.17 No.1

In this study a new design concept of the Fabry-Perot filter, constructed with an anisotropic space layer and a couple of isotropic mirrors, was proposed based on the Maxwell equations and the characteristic matrix method. The single- and double-cavity Fabry-Perot filters were designed, and their optical properties were investigated with a developed software package. In addition, the dependence of the transmittance and phase shift for two orthogonal polarization states on the column angle of the anisotropic space layer and the incidence angle were discussed. We demonstrated that the polarization state of electromagnetic waves and phase shifts can be modulated by exploiting an anisotropic space layer in a polarization F-P filter. Birefringence of the anisotropic space layer provided a sophisticated phase modulation with varied incidence angles over a broad range, resulting in a wide-angle phase shift. This new concept would be useful for designing optical components with isotropic and anisotropic materials.

Using characteristic strings to derive valid contracted graphs with hexagonal links plus other links for type synthesis of closed mechanisms

        Yi Lu,Yang Lu,Nijia Ye,Bingyi Mao,Chunping Sui,Jianda Han 대한기계학회 2012 JOURNAL OF MECHANICAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY Vol.26 No.5

"It has been a significant and challenging issue to derive the complex valid contracted graphs (CGs) with hexagonal links plus other links and identify their isomorphism for creating novel closed mechanisms. This paper focuses on the derivation of the valid CGs with hexagonal links plus other links using the characteristic strings (CSs). First, the concepts on the CGs and CSs are explained, and the numbers of vertices and edges in the CGs are solved. Second, the relative criterion are determined for representing/deriving CGs and identifying isomorphic/invalid CGs by CSs. Third, some simple CGs are derived from some associated linkages with hexagonal links plus more other links, are represented by CSs, and the isomorphic/invalid CGs are identified using the CSs and the isomorphic queues of the links. Fourth, some examples are given for illustrating their applications. Finally, many complex valid CGs with more hexagonal links plus other links are represented and derived using CSs, and their isomorphism are identified using CSs."

Verification of SARAX code system in the reactor core transient calculation based on the simplifi ed EBRII benchmark

        Xiaoqian Jia,Youqi Zheng,Xianna Du,Yongping Wang,Jianda Chen 한국원자력학회 2022 Nuclear Engineering and Technology Vol.54 No.5

This paper shows the verification work of SARAX code system in the reactor core transient calculationbased on the simplified EBR-II Benchmark. The SARAX code system is an analysis package developed byXi'an Jiaotong University and aims at the advanced reactor R&D. In this work, a neutron-photon coupledpower calculation model and a spatial-dependent reactivity feedback model were introduced. To verifythe models used in SARAX, the EBR-II SHRT-45R test was simplified to an ULOF transient with an inputflowrate change curve by fitting from reference. With the neutron-photon coupled power calculationmodel, SARAX gave close results in both power fraction and peak power prediction to the referenceresults. The location of the hottest assembly from SARAX and reference are the same and the relativepower deviation of the hottest assembly is 2.6%. As for transient analysis, compared with experimentalresults and other calculated results, SARAX presents coincident results both in trend and absolute value. The minimum value of core net reactivity during the transient agreed well with the reported results, which ranged from 0.3$ to 0.35$. The results verify the models in SARAX, which are correct and ableto simulate the in-core transient with reliable accuracy.

Relationships Among Character Strengths, Self-efficacy, Social Support, Depression, and Psychological Well-being of Hospital Nurses

        Xie Jianfei,Liu Min,Zhong Zhuqing,Zhang Qiuxiang,Zhou Jianda,Wang Lu,Ma Keke,Ding Siqing,Zhang Xiaohong,Sun Qian,Cheng Andy S.K. 한국간호과학회 2020 Asian Nursing Research Vol.14 No.3

Purpose: From the perspective of positive psychology, our study aimed to explore depressive symptoms and psychological well-being among Chinese nurses, as well as analyze the impacts of character strengths, self-efficacy and social support on the mental health of nurses. Methods: A cross-sectional and descriptive design using five self-reported questionnaires was used to investigate a cohort of 4238 nurses during 2018. A structural equation modeling analysis was used to verify a hypothetical model linking character strengths, self-efficacy, social support, depressive symptoms, and psychological well-being. Results: The prevalence of depression among this cohort of Chinese nurses was 58.1%. The mean scores for caring, inquisitiveness, and self-control were 19.93 (SD ¼ 2.82), 15.94 (SD ¼ 3.00), and 16.34 (SD ¼ 2.95), respectively. The hypothesized model was a good fit of the data (c2/df ¼ 1.77, p ¼ .183, root mean square error of approximation ¼ 0.04, goodness of fit index ¼ 1.00, comparative fit index ¼ 1.00, TuckereLewis index ¼ 1.00). Except for the path from self-control to depression, the other hypothetical paths investigated were statistically significant. Conclusion: Character strengths were directly and positively associated with psychological well-being. Inquisitiveness was the strongest direct protective factor for depression. In addition, character strengths indirectly alleviated depression and increased psychological well-being through mediating variables of social support and self-efficacy. This study should alert nurse managers that more attention should be paid to the character strengths and mental health of nurses. This study provides evidence for interventions based on character strengths as a management strategy to support the mental health of nurses.

miR-101 Inhibiting Cell Proliferation, Migration and Invasion in Hepatocellular Carcinoma through Downregulating Girdin

        Cao, Ke,Li, Jingjing,Zhao, Yong,Wang, Qi,Zeng, Qinghai,He, Siqi,Yu, Li,Zhou, Jianda,Cao, Peiguo Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2016 Molecules and cells Vol.39 No.2

miR-101 is considered to play an important role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the underlying molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated. Here, we aimed to confirm whether Girdin is a target gene of miR-101 and determine the tumor suppressor of miR-101 through Girdin pathway. In our previous studies, we firstly found Girdin protein was overexpressed in HCC tissues, and it closely correlated to tumor size, T stage, TNM stage and Edmondson-Steiner stage of HCC patients. After specific small interfering RNA of Girdin was transfected into HepG2 and Huh7.5.1 cells, the proliferation and invasion ability of tumor cells were significantly inhibited. In this study, we further explored the detailed molecular mechanism of Girdin in HCC. Interestingly, we found that miR-101 significantly low-expressed in HCC tissues compared with that in matched normal tissues while Girdin had a relative higher expression, and miR-101 was inversely correlated with Girdin expression. In addition, after miR-101 transfection, the proliferation, migration and invasion abilities of HepG2 cells were weakened. Furthermore, we confirmed that Girdin is a direct target gene of miR-101. Finally we confirmed Talen-mediated Girdin knockout markedly suppressed cell proliferation, migration and invasion in HCC while downregulation of miR-101 significantly restored the inhibitory effect. Our findings suggested that miR-101/Girdin axis could be a potential application of HCC treatment.
