This paper shows an available method about how to simplify a logic function, which is named F-algorithm. It has been demonstrated on its equal transformation and its simplest expression. This algorithm has been turned into reality in Turbo Pascal.
Disruption of ecdysis in Leptinotarsa decemlineata by knockdown of chitin deacetylase 1

Chitin deacetylases (CDAs) catalyze N-deacetylation of chitin, a crucial process for chitin modification. In the present paper, LdCDA1 was identified in Leptinotarsa decemlineata. It was copiously expressed in larval foregut, hindgut and epidermis. Just before the molt in the first, second and third larval instars, the mRNA levels of LdCDA1 were high. In the fourth (final)-instar larvae, a peak occurred 4 days after ecdysis. In vivo results revealed that LdCDA1 transcriptionally responded, positively and negatively respectively, to 20-hydroxyecdysone and juvenile hormone titers. Moreover, knockdown of LdCDA1 significantly reduced foliage consumption, lengthened developing period and prevented growth in the final instar larvae. Three distinct lethal phenotypes were noted in the LdCDA1 RNAi larvae. About 30% of the RNAi larvae became moribund and finally died; approximately 50% of deformed pupae died as pharate adults; and around 20% of LdCDA1 depleted pupae finally emerged as abnormal adults and eventually died within 1 week after emergence. Furthermore, chitin content was low and the mRNA levels of five chitin biosynthesis transcripts (LdUAP1, LdUAP2, LdChSAa, LdChSAb and LdChSB) were significantly declined in the LdCDA1 RNAi larvae. In addition, glucose, trehalose and glycogen contents were increased in the LdCDA1 depleted hypomorphs, along with highly expressed genes coding for trehalose and glycogen synthesis enzymes. The findings provide a compelling piece of evidence that CDA1 is critical for chitin deposition in L. decemlineata. Moreover, LdCDA1 may be a potential target for control of the larvae.

To investigate 1α,25-(OH)2D3 regulation of matrixmetalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) protein expression duringosteoclast formation and differentiation, receptor activator ofnuclear factor κB ligand (RANKL) and macrophagecolony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) were administered toinduce the differentiation of RAW264.7 cells into osteoclasts. The cells were incubated with different concentrations of1α,25-(OH)2D3 during culturing, and cell proliferation wasmeasured using the methylthiazol tetrazolium method. Osteoclast formation was confirmed using tartrate-resistantacid phosphatase (TRAP) staining and assessing bone lacunarresorption. MMP-9 protein expression levels were measuredwith Western blotting. We showed that 1α,25-(OH)2D3inhibited RAW264.7 cell proliferation induced by RANKLand M-CSF, increased the numbers of TRAP-positiveosteoclasts and their nuclei, enhanced osteoclast boneresorption, and promoted MMP-9 protein expression in aconcentration-dependent manner. These findings indicatethat 1α,25-(OH)2D3 administered at a physiological relevantconcentration promoted osteoclast formation and couldregulate osteoclast bone metabolism by increasing MMP-9protein expression during osteoclast differentiation.

Abundance of the yeast-like symbiote (YLS) in brown planthopper (BPH), Nilaparvata lugens Stl, collected from rice fields in China and obtained from International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), was monitored. The role of YLS in nymph survival rate, development and adult reproduction, and activities of transaminases in BPH on different resistant rice varieties were examined. Also, the relationship between YLS and virulence shifts of BPH to resistant rice varieties was discussed. The results indicated that the virulence of BPH populations to resistant rice varieties was strongly related to the abundance of YLS in 5th instar nymphs and brachypterous females of BPH field populations at Nanning in South China and Hangzhou in East China, showing the more abundance of YLS in BPH, the higher virulence of BPH to resistant rice varieties, while no obvious differences in YLS abundance were monitored between three BPH biotypes. Numbers of YLS reduced significantly in female adult of BPH biotype 1 fed on resistant rice varieties IR26, Mudgo and ASD7, compared with that fed on susceptible rice variety TN1. The lowest YLS abundance of BPH from field population was found in 2nd generation successively fed on resistant varieties, and the number of YLS was resumed at 4th generation when the BPH has adapted the resistant varieties. The markedly lower nymphal survival rate, adult fecundity and activities of alanine and aspartic transminase, and significantly longer nymph duration in the three aposymbiotic biotypes than in the symbiotic ones were recorded on both susceptible and resistant rice varieties. However, the much greater differences between aposymbiotic and symbiotic BPH were found on the inadaptable resistant rice varieties than that on the fitness resistant rice varieties. Those results implied that YLS in BPH should play a crucial role in the virulent shift of BPH populations to resistant rice varieties.
Stability and L2-gain Analysis for Impulsive Delay Systems via Two-sided Looped-functional
Jian-Zhong Li,Yan-Yu Zhang,Hong-Bing Zeng 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.3
This paper investigates the problems of stability and L2-gain for impulsive systems with time-delay. Inspired by the two-sided looped-functional method, a Lyapunov-like functional is established. Distinct from the previous researches, the information of the whole intervals x(t+k) to x(t) and x(t) to x(tk+1) is completely exploited by the functional. Besides, a more advanced integral inequality is used and several integrals of the state are augmented, which are helpful to reduce the conservativeness. Based on the proposed method, sufficient criteria for stability and L2-gain are obtained. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effect and the advantages of the proposed method.

A series of fluorine and hydroxyl containing jasmonate derivatives, which were chemically synthesized in our institute, were investigated for their effects on the biosynthesis and heterogeneity of ginsenosides in suspension cultures of Panax notoginseng cells. Compared to the control (without addition of elicitors), 100 M of each of the jasmonate was added on day 4 to the suspension cultures of P. notoginseng cells. It was observed that, jasmonates greatly enhanced the ginsenoside content and the ratio of Rb group to Rg group (i.e. (Rb1 + Rd)/(Rg1 + Re)) in the P. notoginseng cells. Some of the synthetic jasmonates, such as pentafluoropropyl jasmonate (PFPJA), 2-hydroxyethyl jasmonate (HEJA) and 2-hydroxye-thoxyethyl jasmonate (HEEJA), could promote the ginsenoside content to 2.55 0.11, 3.65 0.13 and 2.94 0.06 mg/100 mg DW, respectively, compared to that of 0.64 0.06 mg/100 mg DW for the control and 2.17 0.04 mg/100 mg DW by the commercially available methyl jasmonate (MJA); and they could change the respective Rb:Rg ratio to 1.60 0.04, 1.87 0.01 and 1.56 0.05, compared to that of 0.47 0.01 for the control and 1.42 0.06 by MJA. The results suggest that suitable esterification of MJA with fluorine or hydroxyl group could increase the elicitation activity to induce plant secondary metabolism. The information obtained from this study is useful for hyper-production of heterogeneous products by plant cell cultures.
