      • Experimental and analytical study on RC beam reinforced with SFCB of different fiber volume ratios under flexural loading

        Steel fiber composite bar (SFCB) is a novel type of reinforcement, which has good ductility and durability performance. Due to the unique pseudo strain hardening tensile behavior of SFCB, different flexural behavior is expected of SFCB reinforced concrete (SFCB-RC) beams from traditional steel bar reinforced concrete (S-RC) beams and FRP bar reinforced concrete (F-RC) beams. To investigate the flexural behavior of SFCB-RC beam, four points bending tests were carried out and different flexural behaviors between S/F/SFCB-RC beams were discussed. An flexural analytical model of SFCB-RC beams is proposed and proved by the current and existing experimental results. Based on the proposed model, the influence of the fiber volume ratio R of the SFCB on the flexural behavior of SFCB-RC beams is discussed. The results show that the proposed model is effective for all S/F/SFCB-RC flexural members. Fiber volume ratio R is a key parameter affecting the flexural behavior of SFCB-RC. By controlling the fiber volume ratio of SFCB reinforcements, the flexural behavior of the SFCB-RC flexural members such as bearing capacity, bending stiffness, ductility and repairability of SFCB-RC structures can be designed.

        Downregulation of lysyl oxidase and lysyl oxidase-like protein 2 suppressed the migration and invasion of trophoblasts by activating the TGF-β/collagen athway in preeclampsia

        Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-specific disorder that is a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality with a prevalence of 6–8% of pregnancies. Although impaired trophoblast invasion in early pregnancy is known to be closely associated with preeclampsia, the underlying mechanisms remain elusive. Here we revealed that lysyl oxidase (LOX) and LOX-like protein 2 (LOXL2) play a critical role in preeclampsia. Our results demonstrated that LOX and LOXL2 expression decreased in preeclamptic placentas. Moreover, knockdown of LOX or LOXL2 suppressed trophoblast cell migration and invasion. Mechanistically, collagen production was induced in LOX- or LOXL2-downregulated trophoblast cells through activation of the TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway. Notably, inhibition of the TGF-β1/Smad3 pathway could rescue the defects caused by LOX or LOXL2 knockdown, thereby underlining the significance of the TGF-β1/ Smad3 pathway downstream of LOX and LOXL2 in trophoblast cells. Additionally, induced collagen production and activated TGF-β1/Smad3 were observed in clinical samples from preeclamptic placentas. Collectively, our study suggests that the downregulation of LOX and LOXL2 leading to reduced trophoblast cell migration and invasion through activation of the TGF-β1/Smad3/collagen pathway is relevant to preeclampsia. Thus, we proposed that LOX, LOXL2, and the TGF-β1/Smad3/collagen pathway can serve as potential markers and targets for clinical diagnosis and therapy for preeclampsia.

        Experimental study on aerodynamic characteristics of conductors covered with crescent-shaped ice

        Conductor galloping is a common disaster for the transmission lines. Among the existing analytical methods, the wind tunnel test is highlighted as the most effective approach to obtain the aerodynamic coefficients. In this paper, the aerodynamic coefficients of 12 conductor models covered with the crescent-shaped ice, which were fabricated considering the surface roughness of the iced conductor, were obtained based on the wind tunnel test. The influence of the Reynolds number and the shape parameter β, defined as the ratio of ice thickness to the diameter, were investigated. In addition, the effect of surface roughness of the iced conductor was discussed. Subsequently, unsteady areas of conductor galloping were calculated according to the Den Hartog criterion and the Nigol criterion. The results indicate that the aerodynamic coefficients of iced conductors change sharply at the attack angles of 20° and 170° with the increase of β. The surface roughness of iced conductors changed the range of attack angle, which was influenced by the increase of the Reynolds number. The experimental results can provide insights for preventing and controlling galloping.

        Characterization of Ecdysteroid UDP-Glucosyltransferase Gene Promoter from Bombyx mori Nucleopolyhedrovirus

        Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus(BmNPV) ecdysteroid UDP-glucosyltransferase gene (egt) promoter fragments of different lengths were amplified from BmNPV ZJ-8 genomic DNA by PCR. Reporter plasmids pBmegt542-luc, pBmegt309-luc and pBmegtl59-luc with luciferase (luc) driven by egt promoters were constructed. Both in vitro and in vivo expressions showed that BmNPV egt promoter activity requires the transactivation of viral factor(s), and expression of luc was detected earliest at 24 hrs post infection (pi). BmNPV ZJ-8 homologous region 3 (hr3) increased the expression of luc by over 1,600-fold. Molting hormone of 1.0∼2.0㎍/㎖ can dramatically down regulate expression of luc. Juvenile hormone analogue of 0.5∼2.0㎍/㎖ increased expression of luc by 145.8% to 75.7%. Deletion assay revealed that the promoter fragment of 159 bp contains the basal promoter structure; Promoter fragments of 309 bp and 542 bp showed similar but much higher transcriptional activities than that of 159 bp, suggesting that nucleotide from -159 to -309 nt upstream the translation initiation site harbors the main cis-acting elements.

        DI 색 보정의 3D 애니메이션 제작 중 활용 및 연구

        과학기술의 발전과 애니메이션 영화 제작 과정의 개선에 따라 3D 애니메이션의 화면 표현력이 크게 향상되었다. 조명과 색채는 애니메이션 화면의 시각 표현과 정서적 표현을 결정할 수 있다. 오늘날 3D 애니메이션 산업화 환경에서 디지털 색 보정 기술은 화면 조명 효과와 색채 표현을 제고하는 중요한 기술 형식이 되었다. 3D 애니메이션의 색채 창조는 장소, 날씨, 촬영 도구의 제한을 받지 않고 강력한 주관성과 창조성을 갖고 있다. 3D 애니메이션의 화면 색채는 감독의 의도를 직접적으로 드러내면서 관객의 감성을 자극할 수 있는 요소라고 할 수 있다. ‘색 보정’은 디지털 인터미디에이트 시스템에서 자체 설계된 조작 과정을 통해 촬영된 소재의 모든 색채 또는 일부 색채에 대해 강화 또는 약화의 처리를 하는 것이다. 이를 통해 최종 스크린에서 상영된 작품의 색채 언어 표현 능력을 강화시키고, 감독과 색 보정 감독이 표현하고자 하는 정서 분위기를 더욱 정확하게 전달하는 것이다. 이 외에, 색 보정 시스템을 이용하여 영상 화면에 없던 허구적인 조명을 추가할 수 있다. 추가된 허구의 조명은 원래 현실에 있는 조명과 상호 작용하여 특별한 조명 효과를 모방할 수 있다. 또한 선택 구역의 조절로 영상 화면의 어느 한 부분에 대해 명암을 조절하여 화면의 섬세한 변화를 줄 수 있다. 영상 화면에 대한 조명 효과에 대한 포스트 프로덕션 처리는 앞 단계의 촬영 후 이루어지는 후속적인 창작으로 볼 수 있고, 영화 화면의 조명 언어에 대한 재구축을 실현할 수 있다. 3D 애니메이션 예술가에 대해, 색 보정 감독이 DI 제작 과정에서 마침 애니메이션을 정교롭게 장식하고 있는 것과 같다. 디지털 색 보정에서 각종 색채 감정 지식과 조명의 변화를 이용해 화면을 다시 구상하고 디자인해서 관객들이 화면 안에서 화면 외부에 있는 감독과 촬영 감독의 취지와 의도를 느끼게 해야, 관객들의 정서를 감독이 미리 설정한 장면으로 이끌어 갈 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 디지털 색 보정 기술의 정의, 발전과 역할을 정리하고, 3D 애니메이션 영화에서 디지털 색 보정 기술의 우수한 사례 분석과 결합해 3D애니메이션의 제작 과정에서 적당하게 디지털 색 보정 기술을 사용하는 필요성과 방법을 논증하였다. With the technological development and the improvement of the production process of animated films, the picture expressiveness of three-dimensional animated films has also been greatly improved. Shadow and color decide on the visual presentation and emotional expression of pictures of animated films. In the context of the industrialized three-dimensional animated films, the digital color-matching technology has become an important technical form of improving the shadow effect and color expression of pictures. Colors in the three-dimensional animation are highly subjective and creative, free from the restraints of site, weather and shooting equipment. Colors in the three-dimensional animation may directly express the thoughts of directors and are the factor that most easily touches the inner mind of the audience. The so-called “color matching” is that the digital color-matching technology may strengthen or suppress some or all the colors of the shooting materials through their inner operation process, so as to enhance the expressiveness of the color language in the final film, and more accurately convey the emotions and artistic conceptions that directors and colorists want to express. In addition, the digital color-matching technology may be used to add the virtual lights to the pictures of three-dimensional animation, and simulate the light effect jointly created by the increased virtual light and the original realistic light. It may also adjust the picture brightness of any part of the image picture by adjusting the selected area, realize the subtle light and shade change of the picture, and further make the visual effect of all the lens satisfy the director’s requirements. The later-stage treatment of the light effect of the image picture may be deemed as the continuous creation after the early-stage photography. Its application realizes the reconstruction of the illumination language of the film pictures. For three-dimensional animation artists, colorists accurately paint animations in DI production. Through digital color matching, various knowledge of color emotions and shadow changes are applied to reconstruct and redesign the picture, so as to make audiences understand from the picture the ingenuity and conceptions of directors and photographers outside the picture, and further enable audiences to be immersed into the pre-designed situations of the directors. Therefore, this paper shows the definition, development and role of the digital color-matching technology. Then it combines the excellent cases of using the digital color-matching technology in the three-dimensional animated films, and analyzes the necessity and method of properly using the digital color-matching technology in the production process of three-dimensional animations.

        중국 C2C 소셜커머스 플랫폼에서 판매자와 브랜드 신뢰가 지속적 구매의도에 미치는 영향

        Purpose - This study analyzed the correlation and influence between social support, trust (seller, brand), and continuous purchase intention in C2C social commerce in China. Design/methodology/approach - To test the hypothesis, SPSS and Smart PLS 3.0 statistical packages were used based on the collected data. Findings - First, it was confirmed that social support (emotional support, informational support) had a positive effect on trust in sellers. Second, it was found that trust in sellers had a positive effect on brand trust. Third, both seller trust and brand trust have a positive effect on consumers continuous purchase intention. Research implications or Originality - When consumers gain emotional and informational support from sellers, trust in sellers will be effectively improved. Companies wishing to improve brand credibility of their products will have to outsource the sale of their products to trusted sellers. The C2C social commerce platform should build its own trust rating system, recommend sellers with high reliability ratings, and encourage sellers to provide consumers with a lot of information about their brand.

        A Highly Stretchable, Sensitive Strain Sensor Based on the Dry Printing Method

        Use of Electronic skin (E-skin) has attracted significant attention, as it has broad application prospects in medical care, wearable electronic equipment, and body monitoring — particularly with respect to human motion detection. In this work, we developed a flexible, tensile strain sensor based on the dry printing method. A conductive layer, with a miniaturized network structure, was obtained by: (1) packing the grooves of a grid-like silicon template with a conductive powder composed of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and silicon dioxide (SiO2) nanoparticles; (2) infiltrating liquid polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) into the powder voids using a coated, flexible PDMS substrate cover; (3) transferring the solidified, patterned conductive powder onto the flexible substrate by peeling the PDMS substrate cover off the template; (4) fabricating metal electrodes at both ends of the conductive layer and (5) encapsulating the strain sensor with liquid PDMS. After manufacture, the strain sensor was tested using the tensile test. Results from the tensile test demonstrate that the sensor has excellent electrical conductivity, including super high-sensitivity (GF > 1450), a large strain range (up to 35%), and good transparency; as ultraviolet (UV) spectrum analysis shows that the transmittance can reach > 60%. Thus, the sensor is potentially applicable to numerous sub-specialties that require specialized electronics.

      • Case-Control Study of Diet in Patients with Cervical Cancer or Precancerosis in Wufeng, a High Incidence Region in China

        Purpose: To investigate the diet of patients with cervical cancer and precancerosis in the Wufeng area, a high-incidence region in China. Methods: In the case group, 104 patients diagnosed with cervical cancer or cervical intraepithelial neoplasias (CINII/III) were recruited from the Wufeng area. Nine hundred thirty-six healthy women were selected from the same area as the matched controls. A questionnaire, which included questions about general lifestyle conditions, smoking and alcohol status, source of drinking water, green tea intake, and diet in the past year, was presented to all participants. Results: Green tea intake (P=0.022, OR=0.551, 95% CI=0.330-0.919) and vegetable intake (P=0.035, OR=0.896, 95% CI=0.809-0.993) were identified as protective factors against cervical cancer or CINII/III. There was no indication of any associations of other lifestyle factors (smoking status, alcohol status, source of drinking water) or diet (intake of fruit, meat/egg/milk, soybean food, onion/garlic, staple food and pickled food) with cervical cancer. Conclusions: The results suggest that eating more fresh vegetables and drinking more green tea may help to reduce the risk of cervical cancer or CINII/III in people of the Wufeng area.
