The profitability of the dairy and beef industries is largely affected by the actually achieved reproductive efficiency. Although a large proportion of cows worldwide are bred by artificial insemination (AI) services, many potential factors affecting the outcome of pregnancy by AI remain to be addressed. In the present study, we investigated the vaginal microbiota by high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA gene and analyzed their association with differential pregnancy outcomes (i.e., pregnant vs. nonpregnant) of multiple AI services in dairy cows. Sequencing of the V3-V4 region totally produced 512,046 high-quality sequences that were computationally clustered into 2,584 operational taxonomic units (OTUs). All OTUs were taxonomically assigned to 10 bacterial phyla. There were statistically significant differences among the three AI service times (T1, T2 and T3) with respect to the Shannon index and number of observed OTUs (p < 0.05). Bray-Curtis distance-based PCoA analysis also revealed that T2 group could be significantly distinguished from T1 and T3. However, no significant difference between the pregnant and nonpregnant cows was found in confidence regarding both alpha diversity and beta diversity. These results could help us better understand the possible influence of vaginal microbial community on pregnancy outcomes of AI service in cows.
Tolerance of Anaerobic Granular Sludge to Oxygen

N/A To study the tolerant capacity of anaerobic granular sludge (AGS) to oxygen using semi-dynamic batch experiment, the aerating time, pH of the basal media, reductive inorganic materials, microorganism, and microorganism metabolite were investigated. When the aerating time was higher or lower than 0.5 h, the producing gas activity of sludge was lower than that of the control. The oxygen tolerance of the experimental sludge was the highest at the initial pH 7.2. The producing gas activity of sludge I was higher than that of sludge 11. And storage at 4℃ can low the lose of the oxygen tolerance capacity of granular sludge. The producing gas activity of sludge was the highest when KI was added. The growth of aerobic microorganisms and some metabolite could increase the producing gas activity of granular sludge.
Effects of moderate pressure on premeability and viability of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells

With CO2 and N2 as the pressure media, the effects of the moderate pressure (0.1-1.0MPa) and the holding time on the conductivities of the cell suspension of Saccharomyces cerevisiae CICC1447 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae CICC1339, as well as the absorbances of the supernatant (after centrifuged) at 280 nm (A280) and 260 nm (A260) were determined. The membrane permeability of Saccharomyces cerevisiae CICC1447 increased significantly and the cell leakage was aggravated with the pressure increase. For Saccharomyces cerevisiae CICC1339, the conductivity of the cell suspension, A280 and A260 of the supernatant fluctuated with the pressure increase; as a whole, they increased with pressure. Different from high pressure, a moderate pressure not only remarkably improved the permeability of the yeast cell membrane, but also kept yeast cell viability; moreover, the integrity of the yeast cell membrane could be maintained.
Production of hydrocortisone by Absidia coerulea in moderate pressure bioconversion system

The effects of moderate pressure (0.1-2.5 MPa) on viability, cell membrane permeability and catalyzing activity of Absidia coerulea for RSA were investigated. A new method for improving the production of Hydrocortisone (HC) from 17α-hydroxypregn-4-en-3, 20-dione-21-acetate by Absidia coerulea in moderate pressure was developed. The results showed that the morphology of Abasidia coerulea mycelium was changed in moderate pressure, Absidia coerulea mycelium seemed to be loosed, and cell membrane permeability of Abasidia coerulea mycelium was improved. However, the viability of Abasidia coerulea mycelium could keep high level. Moreover, the yield of HC was improved over 1.25-fold as compared with that of the control (untreated cells), to give the yield of HC as 350 mg/l, when the Abasidia coerulea mycelium was treated with 0.5Mpa the atmosphere as the pressure media. Especially, the production of HC with atmosphere as the pressure media (0.5 MPa) could be increased by the addition of H2O2 (60 mmol/l); the relative yield of HC in moderate pressure was enriched by over 4.5% in comparison with the control. The major composition of bioconverted mixture was reduced. It was indicated that the new approach (moderate pressure) obtained in this work possessed a high potential for the industrial production of HC.
Face Detection and Extraction Based on Ellipse Clustering Method in YCbCr Space

In this paper a method for detecting and extracting the face from the image in YCbCr spaceis proposed. The face region is obtained from the complex original image by using the difference method and the face color information is taken from the reduced face region throughthe Ellipse clustering method. The experimental results showed that the proposed method can efficiently detect and extract the face from the original image under the general light intensity except for low luminance.

Aiming at solving problem of points’ redundancy caused by full automatically detecting points and the problem of large workload caused by picking all points manually, I advanced a new method of picking points which is based on Human-Computer Interaction in our 3D reconstruction platform after automatically detecting points. We first detected and matched points automatically and got the homograph matrix between two images, then projected points which were picked by hand on the one image to the other image, at last we would search the interesting feature points in the neighborhood of corresponding points in the two images. Experiments have shown that this method decreases the redundancy brought by large number of points and successfully finds the important feature points, so it lays a good foundation for 3D reconstruction.
Face Detection and Extraction Based on Combined Difference and Ellipse Clustering Method

본 논문에서는 차분 방법과 타원 군집 방법의 결합한 방법을 통해서 얼굴을 검출하고 추출하는 방법을 제안하였다. YCbCr공간에서 차분방법을 이용해서 얼굴 구역을 검출한 후에 타원군집방법을 사용하여 얼굴의 피부색정보를 추출한다. 실행결과 실제 복잡한 배경에서 얼굴을 검출할 뿐만 아니라 얼굴의 피부색정보를 구한다. 이 방법을 사용하면 광도의 영향을 적게 받고, 데이트의 저장공간을 절약할 수 있다. 이 방법은 실시간 얼굴검출시스템과 피부색 기반의 얼굴인식시스템에 활용할 수 있다. In this paper a method combined the difference method and ellipse clustering method is proposed for efficient face detection and complete extraction. This gets a general facial region by processing the image of face in YCbCr space using the difference method and obtains the whole face color information through the Ellipse clustering method. The experimental results show that we can get the location of the face and the face color information, and extract the face from a complex original image in reality. It is less sensitive to lighting and requires less storage space for the data. This method is applicable to real-time face detection system and face recognition system based on skin color.
Naringin and Naringenin Relax Rat Tracheal Smooth by Regulating BKCa Activation

Naringin and its aglycone, naringenin, occur naturally in our regular diet and traditional Chinese medicines. This study aimed to detect an effective therapeutic approach for cough variant asthma (CVA) through evaluating the relaxant effect of these two bioactive herbal monomers as antitussive and antiasthmatic on rat tracheal smooth muscle. The relaxant effect was determined by measuring muscular tension with a mechanical recording system in rat tracheal rings. Cytosolic Ca2+ concentration was measured using a confocal imaging system in primary cultured tracheal smooth muscle cells. In rat tracheal rings, addition of both naringin and naringenin could concentration dependently relax carbachol (CCh)-evoked tonic contraction. This epithelium-independent relaxation could be suppressed by BaCl2, tetraethylammonium, and iberiotoxin (IbTX), but not by glibenclamide. After stimulating primary cultured tracheal smooth muscle cells by CCh or high KCl, the intracellular Ca2+ increase could be inhibited by both naringin and naringenin, respectively. This reaction was also suppressed by IbTX. These results demonstrate that both naringin and naringenin can relax tracheal smooth muscle through opening big conductance Ca2+-activated K+ channel, which mediates plasma membrane hyperpolarization and reduces Ca2+ influx. Our data indicate a potentially effective therapeutic approach of naringin and naringenin for CVA.
