        Molecular Spinless Energies of the Morse Potential Energy Model

        We solve the Klein-Gordon equation with the Morse empirical potential energy model. The bound state energy equation has been obtained in terms of the supersymmetric shape invariance approach. The relativistic vibrational transition frequencies for the $X^1{\sum}^+$ state of ScI molecule have been computed by using the Morse potential model. The calculated relativistic vibrational transition frequencies are in good agreement with the experimental RKR values.

        Curcumin targets vascular endothelial growth factor via activating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway and improves brain hypoxic-ischemic injury in neonatal rats

        This study aimed to evaluate the effect of curcumin on brain hypoxicischemic (HI) damage in neonatal rats and whether the phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt/vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling pathway is involved. Brain HI damage models were established in neonatal rats, which received the following treatments: curcumin by intraperitoneal injection before injury, insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) by subcutaneous injection after injury, and VEGF by intracerebroventricular injection after injury. This was followed by neurological evaluation, hemodynamic measurements, histopathological assessment, TUNEL assay, flow cytometry, and western blotting to assess the expression of p-PI3K, PI3K, p-Akt, Akt, and VEGF. Compared with rats that underwent sham operation, rats with brain HI damage showed remarkably increased neurological deficits, reduced right blood flow volume, elevated blood viscosity and haematocrit, and aggravated cell damage and apoptosis; these injuries were significantly improved by curcumin pretreatment. Meanwhile, brain HI damage induced the overexpression of p-PI3K, p-Akt, and VEGF, while curcumin pretreatment inhibited the expression of these proteins. In addition, IGF-1 treatment rescued the curcumin-induced down-regulated expression of p- PI3K, p-Akt, and VEGF, and VEGF overexpression counteracted the inhibitory effect of curcumin on brain HI damage. Overall, pretreatment with curcumin protected against brain HI damage by targeting VEGF via the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in neonatal rats.

      • Colorectal Cancer Mortality Characteristics and Predictions in China, 1991-2011

        Background: To identify the epidemiological characteristics of colorectal cancer mortality in China during the period of 1991-2011, and forecast the future five-year trend. Materials and Methods: Mortality data for colorectal cancer in China from 1991 to 2011 was used to describe epidemiological characteristics in terms of age group, gender, and rural/urban residence. Trend surface analysis was performed to analyze the geographical distribution of colorectal cancer. Four models including curve estimation, time series modeling, gray modeling and joinpoint regression were applied to forecast the trends for the future five years. Results: Since 1991 the colorectal cancer mortality rate increased yearly, and our results showed that the trend would continue to increase in the ensuing 5 years. The mortality rate in males was higher than that of females and the rate in urban areas was higher than in rural areas. The mortality rate was relatively low for individuals less than 60 years of age, but increased dramatically afterwards. People living in the northeastern China provinces or in eastern China had a higher mortality rate for colorectal cancer than those living in middle or western China provinces. Conclusions: The steadily increasing mortality of colorectal cancer in China will become a substantial public health burden in the foreseeable future. For this increasing trend to be controlled, further efforts should concentrate on educating the general public to increase prevention and early detection by screening. More effective prevention and management strategies are needed in higher mortality areas (Eastern parts of China) and high-risk populations (60+ years old).

      • Liver Cancer Mortality Characteristics and Trends in China from 1991 to 2012

        Purpose: To investigate the distribution of liver cancer mortality as well as its developing trend from 1991 to 2012, forecast the future five-year trend, and provide a basis for the comprehensive prevention and management. Materials and Methods: Mortality data for liver cancer in China from 1991 to 2012 were used to describe characteristics and distribution of liver cancer mortality. Trend surface analysis was used to study the geographical distribution of liver cancer mortality. Curve estimation, time series modeling, gray modeling (GM) and joinpoint regression were used to predict and forecast future trends. Results: The mortality rate of liver cancer has constantly increased in China since 1991. Rates in rural areas are higher than in urban areas, and in males are higher than in females. In addition, our data predicted that the trend will continue to increase in the next 5 years. The age-specific mortality of liver cancer increases with age and peaks in the group of 80-84 years old. Geographical analysis showed the liver mortality rate was higher in the southeast provinces, such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Guangdong, and southwest regions like Guangxi Province. Conclusions: The standardized mortality rate of liver cancer in China has consistently increased from 1991 to 2012, and the upward trend is predicted to continue in the future. Much better prevention and management of liver cancer is needed in high mortality areas (the southwestern and southeastern parts of China) and high mortality age groups (80- to 84-year-olds), especially in rural areas.

        북송 희하로 운영의 이상과 현실 - 왕소 『평융책』의 재검토

        왕소의 『평융책』은, 경계 지역의 제족을 불러들여서, 하황 지역을 장악하고 최종적으로는 서하를 공략하는 목적을 달성할 것을 주장하였다. 그러나 여러 종족들을 불러들이고 군력을 소진한 탓에 희녕 7년(1074)에 하주를 공략한 후 더 이상 나아갈 수 없게 되었다. 그러다가 원풍 4년(1081)의 오로벌하(五路伐夏)로 서하 군대를 무찌른 후, 난주(蘭州)를 공략한 송군은, 그로부터 황하(黃河), 황수(湟水)를 따라 북상하여 하황(河湟)에 도달하는 수정안을 구상했으며 철종 소성 년대(1094년 4월 ~ 1098년 5월) 이후 이를 실행에 옮김으로써, 휘종대에 이르러 마침내 하황 지역이 송나라로 복속되었다. 송은 하황을 장악한 후 이를 근거지로 삼고 북상하여 서하(西夏)를 진격하려 하였다. 정화 5년(1115)의 고골용성(古骨龍城) 전투, 정화 6년(1116)의 인다천성(仁多泉城) 전투는 바로 이 전략구상의 산물이었다. 그러나 서하는 이에 적절히 대응하여 유법을 통안성에서 전사시켰다. 서하는 진무군(震武軍)을 계속 포위공격하여 송군을 구원하러 오도록 유도함으로써 오히려 송나라를 양면작전으로 몰아넣었다. 그리하여 북송의 말기에 걸쳐 송나라와 서하의 교전은 계속되었고, 송나라는 끝내 서하에게 치명적인 일격을 가하지 못했다. The “Pingronce(anti-Xixia plan)” by Wang shao claimed beckoning and comforting the border minorities and therfore controlled the hehuang area and reached the purpose to threatened Xia. However, beckoning and comforting the border minorities cost armies and food, therefore it could not continue after He Zou was occupied in 1074. During the Song-Xia war in 1081, the Song army occupied Lan Zhou, making the Song Dynasty go along the Yellow River and Huang Shui from Lan Zhou to hehuang area. This fixed plan was carried out after Emperor Zhezong Shaosheng period. In the period of Emperor Huizong the hehuang area was included in the map of the Song Dynasty. After the Song Dynasty controlled the hehuang area, it used hehuang area as the base, approaching Xia towards the north. The battle of Gugulong castle in 1115 and the battle of Renduoquan castle in 1116 were the end product of this strategic idea. Due to the fact that Xia had appropriate responses Liu fa was fighting dead at Tonan castle. Xia further to besiege Zhenwojun, alluring the Song army to give help, instead making Song Dynasty in the situation of fighting double sided. Therefore, until the end of North Song, The Song army fought with Xia endlessly, by the Song Dynasty could not give Xia a fatal blow anyway.

      • 한국과 중국 전통주택의 문과 창 비교 연구

        The economic and cultural center is moving towards Asia in the 21st century South Korea and China are playing important roles in Asia. The two countries can mutually complement each other, therefore there will be more and more cooperation between the two countries in the aspects of culture and economy, which is also very necessary. It is very important to enhance the comparative research between the two kinds of cultures in order to further the cultural exchange. Therefore this research will do comparative study in the aspects of structure, material, size, decoration between Korean residence of the upper class and Siheyuan (courtyard house) in Beijing of Ming and Qing Dynasty in the aspects of doors and windows through the investigation of documents and visit of the site. According to the result of the research, the gates in the two countries are similar in terms of structure. Middle gate are always beyond the social status and capacity of the house owners, the biggest difference is decoration on the surface. The room doors of the two countries are almost same in material and structure. In the aspects of the windows, the biggest difference is that the bottom of the window is Murum in Korea, while it is windowsill in China, which is caused by the different lifestyle of the two countries.
