      • 초·중·고 학생들의 과학 지식 성취 수준 추이 분석을 위한 종단적 연구

        학생의 과학 지식 성취도에 대한 장기간의 경향성은 과학 교육 정책의 효율성을 점검하는데 매우 중요한 요인이다. 그러나 지금까지 우리 나라 학생들의 학업 성취도의 경향성을 이해해보려는 진지한 노력이 현실적으로 거의 없었다. 최근까지 한국교원대학교 과학교육연구소에서는 전국에 있는 초·중·고 학생들을 대상으로 학생들의 과학 지식 성취도를 알아보기 위한 연구를 진행시켜왔다. 연구의 첫 단계에서는 평가 문항을 개발하였다. 두 번째 단계에서는 개발된 문항을 전국적으로 투입하고 그 결과를 수집하여 2년간의 변화를 분석하는 것으로써, 이 논문은 두 번째 단계에 관한 내용을 담고있다. 이 연구에서는 권재술 등(1998)이 개발한 국가 수준의 과학 지식 평가 도구를 일부 수정하여 사용하였다. 1997년에는 전국적으로 8,766명의 학생을, 1999년에는 4,398명의 학생을 조사 대상으로 하였다. 조사 대상은 지역별, 성별 등을 고려하여 우리 나라 전체 학생의 모집단을 대표할 수 있는 표본으로 선정되었다. 연구 결과, 2년 동안 초·중·고 학생들의 과학 지식 성취 수준의 서로 다른 변화를 확인할 수 있었다. 초등학생의 경우는 성취도가 감소하였으나, 고등학생의 경우는 증가하였고 중학생의 경우는 두 시기에 의미 있는 차이가 없었다. 과학 지식 영역의 하위 영역별 분석 결과를 보면, 초등학생의 경우 개념 체계에 대한 지식 수준을 유의미하게 향상되었으나, 사실과 원리에 관한 지식 수준은 낮아졌다. 반면 고등학생의 경우는 지식 수준이 향상되었으며 특히, 사실 영역에서 크게 향상 되었다. 연구에서는 이 자료를 성별, 지역별, 행동 목표 수준 그리고 검사 문항의 상황 등으로도 나누어서 분석하였다. 한국교원대학교 과학교육연구소에서 개발한 과학 성취 수준 점검 시스템은 국가 수준에서 학생들의 과학성취도를 점검하는데 효과적인 도구가 될 것이다. The long term trend of studensts' science achievement is a very important factor to check the effectiveness of science educational policy. However, up to date no such effort to understand the trend of Korean students' science achievement has been put into action. Recently, the Science Education Center in Korea National University of Education has been attempted to collect nation wide data for students' science achievement. The first part of the effort was to develop item pools. This study was the second part to collect nation wide data and to check any change during the two year time interval. In this study, the item pools developed by Kwon et. al.(1998) were used with some modification. The data were collected two times; February 1997 and March 1999. The subjects collected nationally were 8,766 students in 1997 and were 4,398 in 1999. The subjects were collected randomly but stratified by region and sex. As the results, the trends of achievement change during the two years were different from elementary to high school. The achievement scores were decreased in elementary schools and increased in high school. In case of middle schools, the change was not significant. However, even in elementary schools the knowledge on theory was increased significantly while knowledge on facts and principles were decreased. In contrast, the knowledge on fact showed the most increase in high schools. In this study, the data were analysed in light of region, sex, behavioral objective levels(ability) and context of test items. The science achievement monitoring system developed by the Science Education Center in Korea National University of Education can be an effective tool for monitoring students' achievement on the national level.

        We experienced a 25 year-old male patient with typhoid fever complicated with massive hemoptysis. Pulmonary complication in typhoid fever is very rare and to our knowledge, there has been no report of hemoptysis as a main cause of death with this disease. We herein report a rare case of typhoid fever.

        Turbo compressor needs high speed rotation of impeller in structure, high rated gearbox and conventional induction motor. This mechanical system increased the moment of inertia and mechanical friction loss. Resently the study of turbo compressor applied super high speed motor and drive, removing gearbox made its size small and mechanical friction loss minimum. In this study we tried to simulate variable super high speed motor deriver and direct drive turbo compressor air pressure control. The result of study is applied to a 70,000rpm/150Hp direct turbo compressor and makes it goods.

        This study was the basic experiment of direct denitrification of NH_3-N. The synthetic wastewater(10㎎/L as NH_3-N) in presence of bromide ion was treated by plasma. The results as follows ; When bromide ion was not present in the wastewater, nitrification or denitrification did not occur. Denitrification of ammonia by plasma in presence of bromide ion was increased in proportion to bromide ion.

        요통환자에 있어서 요부굴곡운동과 요부신전 운동의 치료효과 비교연구

        To compare the treatment effects of back execise on functional status, spinal mobility, SLR, pain severity, and treatment results satisfaction, and to determine whether spinal exercises during the low back pain reduces recurrent episodes of back pain. 1. Flexion and extension exercise groups did not differ in any outcome over 4weeks. After 1 week, both exercise groups had reduced disability score, a higher proportion returning to work, and fewer subjects with a positive SLR compared with the control group. 2. There was no difference among regarding recurrence of low back pain after 6~12 months. 3. There was no difference for any outcomes between the flexion or extension groups. However, either exercise was slightly more effective than no exercise when patients with low back pain were treated.

      • 電解質에 作用하는 로렌츠 힘에 관한 考察

        The precise observation and the experimental activity are indispensable for the science education. The science education through the experimental activities helps the student have the creative ability for solving problems This study is to investigate motions of about 18% CuSO₄water solution in three cases of the electric fields. 1. In the uniform electric field formed between two parallel-plate poles perpendicular to the magnetic field, the Lorentz force of same direction acts on cations and anions in electrolyte moving in an opposite direction. Thus each of them makes a uniform circular motion in the opposite direction. Thus each of them makes a uniform circular motion in the opposite direction. Then cations make a cirular motion on the positive pole, anions on the negative pole. 2. In the electric field formed between two straight electric poles perpendicular to the magnetic field, the Lorentz force perpendicular to the electric force line acts on cations and anions in electrolyte moving in the opposite direction along the electric force line. 3. In the radial electric field formed between electric pole of a closed circuit and electric pole of its center, the Lorentz force of same direction acts on cations and anions in electrolyte moving in an opposite direction. In all cases, if the direction of electric and magnetic fields are changed, the movement direction of electrolyte is also changed, then angular velocity of ions on the track of circle is proportional to the Lorentz force.

      • 브레이징법에 의한 TiA1 금속간 화합물의 접합에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 Al을 삽입금속으로 사용하여 브레이징법으로 접합한 TiAl 금속간화�물의 접합특성에 대하여 조사하였다. 삽입금속인 Al과 모재인 TiAl과의 반응에 의해 접합계면에서는 반응생성층으로서 경도가 모재보다 높고 취약한 TiAl₃가 형성되었으며, 접합온도가 600℃로 낮았거나 가열속도가 30K/min으로 너무 빠를 경우에는 반응생성층내에 void와 미소균열과 같은 접합결함이 존재하였다. 이와 같은 접합결함들은 700℃보다 높은 온도에서 접합하거나 가열속도를 10K/min보다 낮게 하여 접합한 경우에는 나타나지 않았다. 한편 접합체의 기계적 성질의 향상을 위하여 접합 후 Ar가스 분위기에서 열처리를 행한결과, 1300℃에서 3시간 동안 열처리를 했을 경우 모재와의 조성의 균일화가 완전히 이루어지지 않았으며 또한 반응생성층의 형태도 변화가 없었다. 그러나 1350℃에서 3시간 동안 열처리한 결과 조성의 균일화와 함께 반응생성층은 ??단상으로 변하였으며, 반응생성층의 미소경도는 층상조직인 모재의 미소경도보다 조금 낮게 나타났다. In this study, Joining properties of TiAl intermetallic compound bonded by brazing method using an insert metal of Al foil were investigated. A brittle reaction product layer. TiAl₃was formed at the joining interface and its microhardness was very higher than that of base metal. When the specimen was bonded at low temperature of 600℃ or with high heating rate of 30K/min respectively, joining defects like void and micro-crack were formed in the in the inside of reaction layer. These joining defects were disapeared when the speciment had been bonded at higher temperature than 700℃ or with lower heating rate than 10K/min. For the purpose of improving the mechanical properties of joints, effects of the post-bond heat treatment in Ar gas atmosphere on microstructure and hardness distribution of the bonded speciment were studied. When the joint was geat-treated at 1300℃ for 3 hr, homogenization of the compositions in the joining interface region was not achieved completely and morpholgy of the reaction product layer was still remained without morphological change. However, when the joint was heat-treated at 1350℃ for 3 hr, homogenization of the compositions in the joining interface region was achieved and the reaction product layer changed to γ single phase. And micro-vickers hardness of reaction layer region was slightly lower than that of base metal.

        Experiment is very important in physics education. We analyzed the ex-perimental procedures in new physics curriculum of high school and propose the followings for its effective management. 1. It is better that the physics experiment wouid be divided into essential, optional and extra-curricular experiment according to ability of students and conditions of laboratory facilities. 2. It is better to consider the proper time of experimental activity. 3. Laboratory works should be performed in various ways. 4. The basic facilities and the experimental apparatuses should be prepared and new apparatuses developed. 5. Rational management of manpower is essential for effective implementation of experiments.
