A 320-MS/s 2-b/cycle Second-order Noise-shaping SAR ADC
Jaehyeong Park,Sang-Gyu Park 대한전자공학회 2021 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.21 No.6
A 2nd-order Noise-Shaping ADC using a 2-bit/cycle SAR ADC is proposed. With a designated reference DAC and a signal DAC, three comparators in the SAR ADC enable 2-bit conversion in each comparison cycle. The noise transfer function (NTF) of the ADC is implemented in an error-feedback structure to bypass the need for power-consuming integrator. A low-gain switched input/output openloop residue amplifier and a switched-capacitor FIR filter realizes the NTF coefficients. The proposed ADC was designed with a 28-nm CMOS process with 1-V power supply. The SPICE simulation results show that the designed ADC has SNDR of 69.9 dB and power consumption of 4.08 mW, when operated with a sampling rate of 320-MS/s and OSR of 8 achieving a Walden figure-of-merit (FoM) of 39.9-fJ/conv.-step.

In this work, we report extraction of the density-of-states (DOS) in polymer-based organic thin film transistors through the multi-frequency C-V spectroscopy. Extracted DOS is implemented into a TCAD simulator and obtained a consistent output curves with non-linear characteristics considering the contact resistance effect. We employed a Schottky contact model for the source and drain to fully reproduce a strong nonlinearity with proper physical mechanisms in the output characteristics even under a very small drain biases. For experimental verification of the model and extracted DOS, 2 different OTFTs (P3HT and PQT-12) are employed. By controlling the Schottky contact model parameters in the TCAD simulator, we accurately reproduced the nonlinearity in the output characteristics of OTFT.
화재진압대원의 개인보호장구 지급 실태 및 인식에 관한 연구
Jaehyeong Choi,Woojae Kim,Shinwook Kang,Junggon Kim 한국재난정보학회 2016 한국재난정보학회 논문집 Vol.12 No.4
In this study, we surveyed the supply and perception of Personal Protective Equipments for firefighters. As a result, most of the respondents answered that they were paid in accordance with the supply standard, but 12% of the respondents said that there were insufficient equipment. Also, satisfaction with the performance of the equipment is mostly satisfied, but the safety gloves are more than 50% dissatisfied. In summing up the results of the survey, it is urgently necessary to improve the current supply standard, which is determined by the life of PPE, to the replacement period according to the using time or frequency. Also, a new standard should be prepared through the follow - up study.
A technique to improve garbage collection performance for NAND flash-based storage systems
Jaehyeong Jeong,Yong Ho Song IEEE 2012 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CONSUMER ELECTRONICS - Vol.58 No.2
<P>Garbage collection (GC) is a time-consuming operation incorporated in flash memory storage systems, and thus, it has a significant impact on the storage performance. Flash memory provides an internal copy-back operation that can perform page data transfer efficiently during GC. However, this operation is not widely accepted due to some limitations: bit errors can be propagated during the transfer between the pages without being detected, and the operation can be used for blocks within the same plane. In order to address these problems, the page data must be read to a buffer and then transmitted to another page. When this method is used, not only does a temporal overhead occur but also I/O bus utilization and power consumption by the two data transfer operations are increased. In this paper, we propose a technique for reducing the data transfer overhead of GC, using which devices transmit data directly when garbage is collected in a flash memory-based storage system in which several flash memory devices share a single I/O bus, while only the partial updated corrected data is updated when an error is detected. The proposed technique improves the performance of GC and reduces I/O bus utilization compared to the existing methods.</P>

This study was conducted to examine digestibility of insect meals for Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and their utilization as fish meal substitutes. The tested insect meals were mealworm, silkworm, black soldier fly, rice grasshopper, two-spotted cricket, dynastid beetle and white-spotted flower chafer. Apparent digestibility coefficients of the tested insect meals were 83–89% for protein, 91–98% for lipid, 84–90% for energy, 77–81% for dry matter, 28–36% for chitin, 76–96% for amino acids and 89–93% for fatty acids. The amino acid availability of insect meals was high in taurine (93–96%), arginine (91–95%) and lysine (90–95%). Availability of fatty acids were 89–93% for saturated fatty acids, 90–93% for monounsaturated fatty acids and 88–93% for polyunsaturated fatty acids. For a feeding trial, a control diet was formulated using 27% tuna byproduct meal as a fish meal source and seven other diets were prepared replacing 10% tuna byproduct meal in the control diet with each insect meal. Triplicate groups of shrimp (initial body weight: 0.17 g) were fed the diets for 65 days. The growth performance was significantly improved when the shrimp were fed black soldier fly or dynastid beetle included diet. Dietary supplementation of insect meals significantly improved non-specific immune responses and antioxidant enzyme activity in the shrimp. These results indicate that the tested insect meals have high potentials to be used as a protein source that could replace fish meal in diets for the shrimp.
