Jin-Fa Lin,Ming-Yan Tsai 대한전자공학회 2018 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.18 No.5
A modified static contention free truesingle-phase clocked (TSPC) flip-flop with 23- transistor only is proposed in this paper. It is optimized by a recently presented TSPC based flipflop design and achieves circuit simplification. The optimized measure leads to a new flip-flop design featuring better and various performances. Based on post-layout simulation results using the TSMC CMOS 40nm technology, the proposed design outperforms the conventional TGFF by 49.2% in energy consumption (at 0% data activity switching) with the same layout area.
Research on Mathematical Problem Posing: What We Know and Where We Are Going
( Jin Fa Cai ) 한국수학교육학회 2014 수학교육 학술지 Vol.2014 No.2
There is a long history of integrating mathematical problem solving into school curricula. In contrast, problem-posing research is a relatively new endeavor. Nevertheless, there have been efforts to incorporate problem posing into school mathematics at different educational levels around the world in the past two decades. These efforts indicate interest among many researchers and practitioners in making problem posing a more prominent feature of classroom instruction. In this plenary, I will present the current state of knowledge in problem-posing research and suggest some directions for future study. In particular, my discussion will be organized based on the following ten questions: (1) Why is problem posing important in school mathematics? (2) Are teachers and students capable of posing important mathematical problems? (3) Can students and teachers be effectively trained to pose high quality problems? (4) What do we know about the cognitive processes of problem posing? (5) How are problem-posing skills related to problem-solving skills? (6) Is it feasible to use problem posing as a measure of creativity and mathematical learning outcomes? (7) How are problem-posing activities included in mathematics curricula? (8) What does a classroom look like when students engage in problem-posing activities? (9) How can technology be used in problem-posing activities? (10) What do we know about the impact of engaging in problem-posing activities on student outcomes? Each of these questions represents a rich area for problem-posing research and I will summarize what we know as a field, and then point out possible future directions of research on mathematical problem posing.

Since the establishment of dialogue between China and ASEAN countries in 1991, bilateral relations have been good, and economic and trade cooperation has continued to climb. Especially after “the Belt and Road Initiative” was put forward in 2013, the scope of economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN has been continuously expanded, and the quality of cooperation has steadily improved. However, with the global outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the bilateral economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN has changed to varying degrees. In this paper, the method of statistical inference is used to study. The results show that under the COVID-19 epidemic, China's direct investment in ASEAN has not been affected on the whole but has shown a significant increase in two consecutive years; From a national perspective, China's direct investment in the Philippines, Laos, and Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore's direct investment in China have also increased significantly for two consecutive years. Still, the direct investment in China from the Philippines, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Brunei has dropped significantly for two consecutive years. To better adapt to the normal development of the epidemic, continue to implement the Belt and Road Initiative, and realize the leap of high-quality cooperation between China and ASEAN, this paper puts forward the need to deepen the cooperation between China and ASEAN in the fields of health care, infrastructure construction, and digital economy.
A Low Voltage and Low Power Flip-flop Design Using Virtual VDD Scheme
Jin-Fa Lin,Shao-Wei Yu,Chang-Ming Tsai,Ming-Hwa Sheu 대한전자공학회 2019 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.19 No.5
A novel low voltage and low power true-single-phase flip-flop (FF) design is proposed in this paper. It is adapted from conventional Set-Reset latch based FF design and achieves circuit simplification by using virtual VDD scheme. The optimization measure leads to a new design providing better various performances. Based on post layout simulation results using the TSMC CMOS 180 nm technology, the proposed design outperforms the conventional TGFF by 68.7% in energy consumption (at 25% switching activity).
Low Power Latch-adder Based Multiplier Design
Jin-Fa Lin 대한전자공학회 2017 Journal of semiconductor technology and science Vol.17 No.6
A latch-adder based array multiplier, targeting for low VDD and low power operations, is presented. It employs a dynamic version C2MOS full adder design incorporating the latch function with the adder cell efficiently. The adder outputs are further equipped with keeper logic. Latch control signals are generated by a chain of delay cells and applied to each row of the adder array. The computations in the adder array are thus aligned row-wise and proceed orderly to reduce spurious signal switching activities. The delay disparity in sum and carry paths within an adder cell is taken into account and time skewed latch control signals are applied separately. Simulation results on 8×8 and 16×16 multiplier designs show the proposed ones have the lowest power consumptions in 5 designs under comparison. The power saving against conventional array multiplier designs is up to 36%. The proposed 8×8 multiplier design is further implemented using the TSMC 0.18 um CMOS technology. When operating in the nominal condition, i.e. (0.6 V, 1 MHz), the design has a measured power consumption of 1.28 uW. For the target 1 MHz working frequency, the required VDD can be even reduced to 0.5 V and the power consumption is only 0.91 uW.

Emulsified oil foam was investigated to improve the flowability of heavy oil under high salinityenvironment of 23 104 mg/L. Sixteen foaming agents were used to determine an applicableformulation. The factors affecting the formation and stability of the emulsified oil foam were evaluated, including oil viscosity, oil–water ratio, foaming agent concentration, stirring rate and time, andtemperature. The microgram of emulsified oil foam was analyzed by polarizing microscope. The resultsshowed that stable pseudo-emulsion film was built. The considerable dynamic viscosity-reducing ratesin different depth in wellbore were obtained according to pressure differential method in long tubephysical simulation experiments.
Synthesis and Structural Studies of an Organic Complex and its Association with BSA
Fa-Yan Meng,Jin-Mei Zhu,Li Wang,Xue-Ping Zhong,Li-Xi Liang,Sheng-Rong Yu,Cui-Wu Lin 대한화학회 2011 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.32 No.7
The self-assembly of one novel organic complex based on chlorogenic acid (HCA) and 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-bipy) has been synthesized and characterized. The complex achieved by hydrogen-bonding interactions, adopted a 1:1 stoichiometry in a solid state. The proton transfer occurred from the carboxyl oxygen to the aromatic nitrogen atom to form salts CA·(2,2'-Hbipy), the 2,2'-Hbipy molecule individually occupies the pseudo-tetragonum that is formed with CA. In this paper, the interactions of CA·(2,2'-Hbipy) with bovine serum albumin (BSA) were studied by fluorescence spectrometry. For CA·(2,2'-Hbipy), HCA and 2,2'-bipy,the average quenching constants for BSA were 2.4384 × 10^4, 4.653 × 10^3, and 3.059 × 10^3 L·mol^−1, respectively. The mechanism for protein fluorescence quenching is apparently governed by a static quenching process. The Stern-Volmer quenching constants and corresponding thermodynamic parameters ΔH, ΔG and ΔS were calculated. The binding constants and the number of binding sites were also investigated. The conformational changes of BSA were observed from synchronous fluorescence spectra.
