        재한 유학생 학업중단의도 관련 변인 탐색: D시 두 대학의 재학생을 중심으로

        This study aimed to determine the factors associated with the dropout intention of international college students in South Korea. A survey was administered to 188 international students at two universities in D city. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The results are as follows. First, 61 respondents(32.4%) intended to drop out of school, and 26(13.9%) had a plan to do so. Second, no significant associations were found between student demographic characteristics and dropout intention. Third, cultural adaptation stress had a positive prediction of the dropout intention of international college students. In addition, students’ satisfaction about their majors related negatively to their dropout intention. Consistency of interest also related negatively to students’ dropout intention, such that the higher their consistency of interest, the lower their intention to drop out of school. These results showed that students’ psychological factors and college life experience played bigger roles than demographic characteristics in individuals’ intention to discontinue their studies. This study provided implications for better understanding international students’ dropout intention and suggested the necessity of the systematic support for international college students. 본 연구는 현재 한국 대학에 다니고 있는 외국인 유학생들의 학업중단의도를 배경 변인에 따라 비교하고 학업중단의도를 예측하는 변인을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 D시 소재 2개 대학교에 재학 중인 유학생 188명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하고 수집된 데이터를 t검증, 일원분산분석, 다중회귀분석 등을 활용하여 분석하였다. 주요 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구대상 유학생들의 32.4%(61명)는 학업중단의도를 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 13.9%(26명)는 현재 대학에서 학업을 중단하고 자퇴하고자 하는 계획하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 유학생의 학업중단의도는 인구통계학적 특성(성별, 학년, 전공, 유학기간, 유학동기, 주거환경, 아르바이트여부 등)에 따라 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 셋째, 유학생의 문화적응 스트레스가 높을수록 학업중단의도가 높아지는 반면, 전공 만족도가 높을수록 학업중단의도가 낮아지는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 그릿의 하위 변인인 흥미유지에 따라서도 학생의 학업중단의도가 달라지는 것으로 확인되었는데, 구체적으로는 흥미유지가 높을수록 학업중단의도가 낮아지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 유학생이 학업을 중단하고자 하는 의도에 개인의 인구통계학적 특성보다는 심리적 요인이 더 크게 작용하고 있다는 것을 보여주었으며, 유학생들의 학업 지속을 지원하기 위한 프로그램이나 정책에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

        Time-Efficient and Complete Coverage Path Planning Based on Flow Networks for Multi-Robots

        Complete coverage path planning (CCPP), specifically, the efficiency and completeness of coverage of robots, is one of the major problems in autonomous mobile robotics. This study proposes a path planning technique to solve global time optimization. Conventional algorithms related to template-based coverage can minimize the time required to cover particular cells. The minimal turning path is mostly based on the shape and size of the cell. Conventional algorithms can determine the optimum time path inside a cell; however, these algorithms cannot ensure that the total time determined for the coverage path is the global optimum. This study presents an algorithm that can convert a CCPP problem into a flow network by exact cell decomposition. The total time cost to reach the edge of a flow network is the sum of the time to cover the current cell and the time to shift in adjacent cells. The time cost determines a minimum-cost path from the start node to the final node through the flow network, which is capable of visiting each node exactly once through the network search algorithm. Search results show that the time-efficient coverage can obtain the global optimum. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm operates in a time-efficient manner.

        Complete coverage path planning is major problem for autonomous mobile robot, which concerns both efficiency and completeness of coverage. In this paper, a complete coverage path planning algorithm is proposed for two indoor floor-caring robots, such as cleaning or inspecting industrial and public floor areas, to have the minimal turning path based on the shape and size of the cell covering the whole working area. The proposed algorithm divides the whole cleaning area into cells by cellular decomposition method, and then provides efficient covering order over the cells based on distance among centroids of cells. It also provides more optimal coverage path and reduces the rate of energy consumption and working time. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the algorithm. As compared performance indices between experiment and simulation, the total number of turns and the working time show the practical efficiency and robustness of the proposed algorithm.

        창의적 문제해결에 관한 한국내 연구 동향 분석

        본 연구의 목적은 초·중·고등학생 대상으로 이루어진 창의적 문제해결 관련 한국 내 연구의 연구동향을 분석하여 향후 발전 방안을 모색하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 것이다. 이를 위해 2000년부터 2021년까지 발표된 국내 학술지 논문을 ‘창의적 문제해결’ 키워드를 학술연구정보서비스를 비롯한 유관 검색 서비스에 투입하여 한국연구재단 등재 및 등재후보 학술지에 출판된 총 186편의 창의적 문제해결에 관한 논문을 분석 대상으로 추출하였다. 최근 한국 교육과정에서는 창의적 문제해결이 중요하게 언급되고 있기에, 초·중·고등학생 대상의 논문을 선정하였다. 수집한 자료를 연구시기, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구 분야 및 학술지 분야, 연구주제, 등에 따라 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창의적 문제해결 연구는 2000~2007년 34편, 2008~2014년 55편, 2015~2021년 97편 지속적으로 이루어지고 있으면 매년 증가하고 있다. 둘째, 연구방법별로는 창의적 문제해결 관련 프로그램 개발연구 연구가 가장 많고, 실험연구, 조사연구, 질적연구, 문헌연구 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 연구대상별로는 초등학생(130편), 중학생(29편), 고등학생(17편) 순으로 나타났다. 넷째, 학술지 분야에 따라 살펴보았을 때 교육학 분야 연구가 가장 많았고, 그 다음으로는 공학, 예술학 분야순이었다. 이중 세부적으로 과학교육 분야의 연구가 가장 많았으며 영재교육, 생물교육, 공학이 그 뒤로 많았다. 다섯째, ‘CPS에 미치는 영향’에 관한 연구와 관련된 주제가 가장 많았고, 그 다음으로 '프로그램 개발 및 적용', '효과분석' 순이었다. 여섯째, 가장 많이 사용된 키워드로는 ‘창의적문제해결’, ‘창의적문제해결능력’이었다. 창의적 문제해결의 연구동향을 살펴보는 것은 지금까지의 연구 성과를 돌아보고 앞으로의 연구 방향을 점검해 본다는 측면에서 의미가 있을 것이다. The study aims to analyze research trends in Korea related to Creative Problem Solving (CPS) for elementary, middle and high school students and to provide basic data for finding future development. For this purpose, 186 journal articles published from 2000 to 2021 were collected using the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS) by the Korean Academy of Science and Research Information. Recently, CPS has been mentioned as important in the South Korean curriculum, so in this study, papers for elementary, middle and high school students were selected. The collected data were analyzed by year of publication, subject, method, the research field of an academic journal and research topic and keywords. To do this, we undertook a research trend analysis and keyword network analysis. The results are as follows. First, related research on CPS has been increasing every year since 2000, 34 studies in 2000~2007, 55 in 2008~2014, and 97 in 2015~2021. Second, by research methods, program development studies was the most common, followed by experimental study, survey study, qualitative study and literature review study. Third, the largest number of studies were about elementary school students. Fourth, education was the most common journal field, followed by engineering and arts. Among them, science education research was the most common, subsequently gifted education, biological education and engineering. Fifth, the topic related to studies on‘the impacts on CPS and impacts of CPS’ was the most dominant, followed by‘program development and application’,‘effect analysis’. Sixth, the most frequently used keywords among all were ‘CPS’,‘CPS ability’,‘gifted student’,‘STEAM’, and ‘science’. To analyze the trend of Creative problem solving will be meaningful in terms of reviewing the past research outcome and direction of future research.

        Identifying the Professional Development Needs of EFL Secondary School Teachers

        The language ability of EFL teachers is one of influential factors on students’ motivation and attitudes towards language learning (Madrid et al., 1993; Usman et al., 2016). One of the ways that Mongolian EFL teachers increase their language ability is to take courses offered by Institute of Teachers Professional Development (ITPD), which is in charge of in-service programs for primary and secondary school teachers in Mongolia. According to the survey conducted for this paper among 146 secondary school teachers of English, the ITPD program is not seen to be satisfactory enough to meet the needs of those EFL language teachers. This is largely due to the fact that the program consists solely of pedagogical courses for language teaching methodologies and skills. Accordingly, I suggest that the program should include content courses specifically designed to enhance EFL teachers’ language proficiency so that the program is complete with teacher development as well as professional development.

      • Feedback Linearization Control of Overhead Cranes with Varying Cable Length

        Based on partial feedback linearization technique, a nonlinear controller is proposed for an overhead crane system. The overhead crane is an underactuated mechanical system having three degrees of freedom (trolley displacement, cable length and cargo swing angle) with only two actuators (one is for cargo hoisting and the other is for trolley driving). The main purpose of the proposed controller is tracking the trolley to the desired position, hoisting the cargo up/down to have desired length of cable, and eliminating the cargo swing as fast as possible. To show the effectiveness of the proposed controller, simulation is performed using MATLAB. The simulation results show that the crane system with the proposed controller is asymptotically stable. Furthermore, all state trajectories of the system reach to steady state within a considerably short time even if the inherent structure of system is changed.

      • Pork Lard Synthesis for Different Reaction Condition and Gas Chromatography Analysis of Lard Biodiesel

        This paper presents the use of gas chromatography (GC/MSD) to characterize pork fat transesterification synthesis for different catalyst amounts, water blending, and commercial diesel as a solvent concentration and the fatty acid composition of the final product. Inadequate reaction conditions include excessive amounts of catalysts and water consumption. Consequently, such conditions significantly affect the reduction rate of lard biodiesel (BD) yields. Based on the experimental analysis, the short chain molecular fatty acid concentration of lard biodiesel was higher for catalyst concentrations within the 1.5-2.0 wt% range, 3.0-4.0 wt% water blending and high solvent mixture. The solvent blending increased biodiesel yields because solvent blending allowed lard free fatty acids and chemical additives to be mixed better. Lard biodiesel palmitic acid composition was 3 times higher than that of soybean oil. However, the linoleic acid concentration was about 4 times lower in comparison to the linoleic acid concentration of vegetable oil. Saturated fatty acids induce significant problems in the winter for vehicles operating with lard biodiesels. More research is required for transesterification process technology development.

      • The Effects on Smoke and NOx with Biodiesel fuel in a Common Rail Direct Injection Diesel engine

        Our environment is faced with serious problems related to the air pollution from automobiles in these days. Specially, the exhaust emissions from the diesel engine are recognized as a main cause influencing the environment severly. In this study, the potential possibility of biodiesel fuel was investigated as an alternative fuel for a naturally aspirated common rail diesel engine. The smoke emission of the biodiesel fuel of 5 vol-% was reduced to about 60% at the engine speed of 4000 rpm with the full load compared to the diesel fuel, and there was no big difference on the power, torque, and brake specific energy consumption. But, NOx emission of biodiesel fuel increased compared to the commercial diesel fuel. The effects of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) on the characteristics of NOx emission has been investigated and found that simultaneous reduction of smoke and NOx was achieved with the biodiesel fuel (5 vol-%) and cooled EGR method (5~10%) in the common rail diesel engine.
