북극 스발바드 군도 스피츠베르겐섬 콩스피요르드에서의 다환 방향족 탄화수소화합물의 분포 특성

In order to elucidate the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon concentration and its origin in arctic area, four arctic brown algae (Laminaria saccharina, L. digita, Alaria esculenta, Desmarestia aculeata), one marine invertebrate (Echinoidea) and sediments were collected from Kongsfjorden in Spitsbergen from the late July to early August. 2003. In case of macroalgae, the young blade part above growth point and the old stipes and blades beneath growth point were separated and analyzed for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in an attempt to check the mechanism of uptake in macroalgae to accumulate PAN. There was no difference in PAH concentrations between sampling sites (Stations B and C), species. and blades beneath and above growth point. PAH concentrations in all samples collected in this study were relatively higher than those reported in other areas of arctic. Especially, station C, which is known as an unpolluted area, showed 10 times higher PAH concentration (8,765 ng/g) in sediment than station A (694 ng/g) around harbor. In addition high PAH concentration, station C had very higher proportion of methylated PAH to parent PAH in sediment than station A. Source analysis using PAH isomer pair ratios as indicators showed that Kongsfjorden area seemed to be relatively contaminated with PAH derived from direct petroleum input.

In order to achieve stable and efficient use of energy at iron and steel works, a model for the prediction of supply and demand of electric power system is developed on the basis of the information on operation and particular patterns of electric power consumption. The optimal amount of electric power to be purchased and the optimal fuel allocation for the in-house electric power plants are also obtained by a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP) and a nonlinear programming(NLP) solutions, respectively. The validity and the effectiveness of the proposed model are investigated by several illustrative examples. The simulation results show the satisfactory energy saving by the optimal solution obtained through this reseach.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of the perfluorocarbone emulsion in a novel membrane module that satisfied the limiting factor of minimizing the pressure loss in the intravascular blood flow pattern. It observed the mind on the viscosity that to mix with blood in the ratio of 1:4. The device used a bundle consisted of several hundred hollow fiber having the outside diameter of 380㎛. and the axial jacket length of 600 ㎜. The pressure drop of the membrane module device consisting of 300 hollow fibers was observed 10 ㎜Hg at the flow rate 4 ℓ/min and could be get sphere of pressure drop to apply equipment.

This study was investigated to verify whether or not we could apply physical characteristics model of superior squash players to physical characteristics of squash players by comparing physical characteristics of racket players. The subjects consisted of superior badminton players (12 men), tennis players (15 men), and squash players (10 men). The results of analysis ware as follows; 1. The things that came out highly among physical composition items were body fat (9.70±3.71㎏), % body fat (13.77±4.68%) and total body water (41.46±5.06L) in squash players, and lean body mass (61.00±5.71㎏) in badminton players, and muscle mass (59.69±5.92㎏) in tennis players. The items disclosed the lowest were lean body mass (59.85±7.66㎏) and muscle mass (56.54±6.93㎏) in squash players, and body fat (9.01±1.84㎏), % body fat (12.77±1.72%) and total body water (38.37±4.99L) in badminton players. As a result of two-way ANOVA by items among groups, there were no significant differences. 2. It was revealed that squash players were high in factors such as power(sargent jump, standing long jump), agiIity(50m run) and flexibility(trunk flexion), and were the lowest in factors such as muscular strength(grip strength, back strength) and endurance(sit-up). 3. It was revealed that badminton players were the highest in endurance/sit-up), flexibility(trunk flexion), and were the lowest in power(standing long jump), flexibiIity(50m run) and endurance(push-ups). 4. It was came out that tennis players were the highest in muscular strength(grip strength, back strength), and were the lowest in power(sargent jump). 5. As the result of two-way ANOVA among superior racket players, there were significant differences in items such as 50m run, sit-up, push-ups, trunk flexion and trunk extension backward between squash and badminton players groups (p< .05), and in items such as grip strength and trunk flexion between squash and tennis players groups (p< .05).

N/A To assess the possibility that the measurement in peripheral venous blood of AST/ALT ratios might be helpful in detection of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the AST/ALT ratios were evaluated in 282 cases of chronic active hepatitis (CAH), 59 cases of CAH with early cirrhotic change (CAH with LC), 213 cases of liver cirrhosis (LC), and 220 cases of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The ratio of male to female was 72.9% to 27.1% in HBsAg seropositive groups and 68.8% to 3I.2% in HBsAg seronegative groups, respectively. The mean age was 43.7 years old in HBsAg seropositivity and 49.9 years old in HBsAg seonegativity, respectively. In HBsAg seropositive groups, the AST/ALT ratio was 0.68+-0.30 in CAH group, 0.78+-0.19 in CAH with LC, 1.68+-0 83 in LC, 2.17+- l.60 in HCC. In HBsAg seronegative groups, AST/ALT ratio was 0.71+-0.58 in CAH group. 0.82+-0.31 in CAH with LC, 1.72+-0.87 in LC, 1.95+-1.38 in HCC. AST/ALT ratio was gradually increased according to the progress of the chronic liver disease in both HBsAg seropositive groups as well as negative groups. AST/ALT ratio was significantly (p<0.005) elevated in patients with HCC, being above 2.0, as compared to other groups. AST/ALT ratio in the patients with serum AST>200 units was higher than in those with AST<200 units, and the mean AST/ALT ratio in the HCC patients with AST.> 200 units was significantly higher than in other chronic liver disease. AST/ALT ratio above 3.3, without evidence of circulatory disturbance, was almost entirely restricted to the patients with HCC. In conclusion, since elevated AST/ALT ratio reflects the progress of chronic liver disease from CAH to HCC, a gradual increase in AST/ALT ratio might be a useful marker assessing for detection of HCC.

In this study, we investigated 154-kV porcelain insulators with various failure types and discussed the causes of the failures. In South Korea, 1,223,538 154 kV porcelain insulators (produced by a foreign company) are in active service in 2017, installed in overhead power transmission lines. Among them, 797,659 (65.19%) have been used over 30 years in active service. Porcelain insulators employed in transmission lines need to exhibit a high electrical resistance, mechanical strength, stability, and ability to maintain satisfactory performance under various environments. In this study, a life-time assessment strategy is proposed for the 154 kV porcelain insulators according to the operational circumstances. The life-time extrapolation of porcelain insulators in 154-kV transmission lines is very challenging, owing to the complex aging process. As the first step of the life-time extrapolation, we characterized the failure types. Various factors such as temperature, rain, dust, acids, corrosion, vibrations, and mechanical and electrical stresses, over a long period of time can lead to various types of failures in porcelain insulators.

Purpose: Hernia repair after recurrence is a challenging procedure, and many approaches have been suggested for it. Total extraperitoneal (TEP) hernia repair should be considered in recurrent hernia. This study was conducted for the purpose of investigating the clinical usefulness of laparoscopic TEP hernia repair for recurrent inguinal hernia. Methods: Among the 191 patients who underwent TEP hernia repair at these authors’ center from June 2006 to January 2010, the bilateral-hernia cases and the patients with a history of previous pelvic surgery were excluded. A total of 19 patients (12.5%) were enrolled in the recurrent-inguinal-hernia group (group R), and 133 patients (87.5%) in the primary-hernia group (group P). Data were investigated retrospectively, based on the medical records. Results: The mean operation time was 97 minutes in group R and 99 minutes in group P (>0.05). In group R, no operation modality change occurred, and temporary urinary retention was developed in four patients (21.1%). In group P, on the other hand, operation modality change from TEP to the transabdominal preperitoneal approach was necessary in four patients (3%). Additionally, in group P, 30 patients (22.6%) had temporary urinary retention and six (4.5%) had testicular edema. No recurrence was identified during the follow-up period in both groups (mean follow-up period: 15.8 months for group R and 18.0 months for group P). Conclusion: Laparoscopic TEP hernia repair seems to be a safe and useful method for correcting recurrent inguinal hernia.
