Endometriosis is the abnormal growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity. Endometriosis in the abdominal scar following cesarean section is very rare condition among the extrapelvic endometriosis. The frequency of abdominal wall endometriosis secondary to cesarean section is from 0.03% to 0.8% in some reports. It is difficult to diagnosed in spite of the typical symptoms. The typical symptom is aching swelling in the area of the surgical scar, which is influenced by the phases of menstruation. The definitive diagnosis is established by pathologic analysis. Surgical excision remains the treatment of choice. The majority of patients presented from 1 to 2 years after the precipitating operation. We experienced an unusual case of abdominal wall endometriosis presented over 10 years after cesarean section, who was admitted to our hospital complaining of recurrent left lower abdominal pain. So, we report this case with a brief review of the concerned literatures.

A computer program called RC2D was developed to analyze the nonlinear behavior of reinforced concrete members under monotonic loading. The RC2D adapted so called smeared cracking model to represent cracking during a finite element analysis of a reinforced concrete member. The compressive behavior of concrete is modelled using the Maekawa's elasto-plastic-fracture model. After cracking, the constitutive model comprises tension stiffening, modified Maekawa's for compression and shear transfer models of cracked concrete, and a model for reinforcement in the concrete. The applicability of RC2D has been verified by comparing the analytical results with experiment results obtained by author and other investgators.

In the present study, dynamic analysis program was developed for single-, multi-mode spectral analysis method of presented specification for highway bridges. Single-mode spectral analysis method uses only fundamental period to compute the elastic earthquake forces and displacements of substructures. Multi-mode spectral analysis method applies to bridges with irregular geometry for accurate analysis. This study presents a new software architecture for dynamic analysis using user-oriented design. In the usual dynamic analysis, large amount of input data and much more output data are treated. Therefore the input data and calculated results must be pre-processed and post-processed. In order to make these sequential procedures effective, a program is developed using computer graphic with Visual Basic programming language. In order to study the validity of developed program, the numerical results are compared with the commercial program, and good agreements are obtained with reasonable accuracy.

In this paper, computer program NEO-PCBRG, was developed to analyze and design the prestressed concrete bridges. NEO-PCBRG based on the finite element method can predict the response of PSC bridges throughout their various stages of construction and service load history. NEO-PCBRG also possess both pre- and post-processing capabilities. Pre-processing refers to all of the necessary steps required to prepare a virtual prototype, more commonly termed a varied model for analysis. Post-processing is the phase of an analysis in which results from the numerical analysis are reviewed and interpreted. In order to make these sequential procedures effective, computer graphic with Visual Basic programming language is used. In conclusion, this study presents a new software architecture for analysis using user-oriented design technique.

An alternative stress-inducing method, a low-energy pulsed electric field (LE-PEF), was used to improve the lipid productivity of microalgae cultures. A large shift in the Nile-Red-stained peaks toward a higher intensity in fluorescent-activated cell sorting, suggestive of an increased neutral lipid content, was observed when 10 kV LE-PEF pulses were applied to 800 mL batch cultures of Acutodesmus dimorphus. The optimal LE-PEF on-off cycle treatment for A. dimorphus was 2 s on-60 s off for 15 min with 6 cycles per day. Under these optimal LE-PEF treatment conditions, A. dimorphus showed an overall 28.8 % increase in lipid productivity. Therefore, based on these results, LE-PEF can be regarded as a promising tool to avoid the lipid content and growth rate trade-off and improve the lipid productivity of microalgae in various cultivation systems.
