Automatic Detection of GGO in CT Lung Images by Using Statistical Features and Neural Networks

In this paper, we described an algorithm of automatic detection of GGO candidate region to develop a CAD system from lung CT images by use of statistical features which is obtained density and shape features. In this algorithm, first, image pre-processing techniques such as segmentation of lung areas, binarization technique are introduced. In the second step, statistical features based on density features which are obtained mean, standard deviation, skewness, and kurtosis. Also two shape features which are obtained spiral scanning filter, and Gabor filter are introduced. In our clustering step, GGO area can be detect by using artificial neural networks. The proposed technique applied to 31 lung CT image sets. From this database, classification rates of a true positive rate of 84.2%, false positive rate of 57% and number of false positive 1.07/slice under the receiver operating characteristic analysis were achieved. The aim of this study is segmentation of lungs region and detection of abnormal area for the GGO by using thoracic MDCT image sets. This study also tried to decrease the amount of false positive rates and increase the amount of true positive rates so that the accuracy of performance.

이 글은 조선 후기 울산 출신 문신 竹塢 李覲吾(1760-1834)의 시에 나타나는 安分이 시기에 따라 서로 다른 의미를 담고 있으며, 그것은 이근오가 지역과 문벌이란 두 가지 점에서 좌절하고 도전해 나가는 과정에서 산생된 것임을 논하고자 한 것이다. 이근오는 울산 지역 토착 가문인 학성 이씨의 후손으로 태어나 울산 최초로 대과에 급제해 중앙에서 實職을 역임했고 문집을 남겼다. 재지사족의 출현이 늦었던 울산 지역 사족의 동향과 한문학의 성취 정도를 살피기에 적절한 인물이나 지금까지 논의된 바가 없었다. 본고는 우선 이근오의 삶과 저술에 대해 간략하게 정리했다. 현재 그의 문집에 남아 있는 시문의 수는 그다지 많지 않고, 시는 40대 이후의 작품만 수록되어 있다. 그의 시는 대체로 충담하고 화평하다는 평을 받은 바 있는 데, 이는 본고에서 그의 시에서 주목한 안분과 일맥상통한다. 그러나 이근오의 시에 나타난 안분은 우리가 익히 알고 있는 안분의 의미로 설명되지 않는 지점이 존재한다. 그리고 그런 경향은 낙향 전후 시기의 작품에서 두드러지게 나타난다. 본고는 바로 그 시기의 주요 작품을 대상으로 삼아 심도 있게 분석함으로써 안분에 담겨 있는 시인의 마음을 좌절과 도전 두 가 지로 읽어내었다. 본고는 시의 문면을 읽는 데 머물지 않고 그 속에 담긴 시인의 마음을 들여다보기 위해 ‘관건어’를 분석의 틀로 삼았고, 문집에 실린 편지글과 실록 등의 관찬 사료를 보충자료로 삼아 논지를 입증했다. 이런 방법은 이근오와 같은 시기를 살았던 당대 중앙과 벌열에 속하지 않은 많은 지역 문인들의 시를 읽어내는 데 일조가 될 수 있을 것이다. This papaer represents that An-Bun(安分) which appear in Jug-O Lee, Keun O s Chinese poems have different meanings accroding to time and attempts to discuss that the difference is produced in the process of frustration and challenge to two things ; region and clan. Lee, Keun-O who was born into descent of Hak-Sung Lee passed Dae-Gwa(大科) for the first time in Ulsan, served as sil-jik(實職) position in central and left a colletion of works. He is a proper person to look around the trend of noble family of Ulsan where the provincial noble family s appearance was late, but haven t been discussed so far. This paper simply arrganged the life and writing of Lee, Keun O. Not many poems is remaining in his colletion of works nowadays, the poems after his forties are only included. His poems generally received a evaluation that his poem is crystal clear(沖澹) and peaceful(和平), which have something in common with An-Bun that this paper payed attention in his poems. But the An-Bun in his poem have a point that can not be explained by the common meaning of An-Bun. And the tendency appears remarkably in the work of before and after of rustication. This paper read the poet s mind as frustration and challenge by analyzing the major works of that time in depth. In additon to reading the contents of the letter, this paper makes the key words as the framework of analysis and historical records compiled by government, such as letters in collection of works and annals, as supplementary records. This method can contribute to reading many regional writers poems that are not belongs to the center and the distinguised family of the same time with Lee, Geun O.
Detecting Pedestrians from a Video by Stereo Cameras

The technologies for safe driving assistance are of particular importance to escape pedestrians from traffic accidents. We have been doing research on detecting pedestrians by use of stereo cameras on an automobile and giving them priorities according to their degree of danger by analyzing their motions/behaviors. In this particular paper, we present a technique for detecting pedestrians employing stereo camera images. From a disparity map, each pixel on the image is voted on a depth image employing a 2-D Gaussian distribution and the region having a peak value of the vote is chosen as an object region. This region is represented by HOG features and judged if it is a human by SVM. Experimental results show satisfactory performance of the technique.
Extraction of multi organs by use of level set method from CT images

Recently, various imaging equipments have been introduced into medical fields. Especially, HRCT is one of the most useful diagnosis systems because it provides a high resolution image to physicians. Accordingly, many related image processing techniques are proposed into medical fields for extraction of abnormal area. In the medical image processing field, segmentation is one of the most important problems for analyzing the abnormalities and recognition of internal structures before the operation. Many related segmentation techniques have been developed for automatic extraction of regions of interest. Especially, in order to extract multi organs and to understand the structure of them, several approaches have been developed in the past. But there are still no fully automatic segmentation methods that are generally applicable to regions of interest based on CT image set. In this paper, we propose a new technique for automatic extraction of the multi organs on the MDCT images employing the level set method. We apply the proposed technique to three CT cases and satisfactory results are achieved.
Method for Reduction of Metal Artifacts in Dental CT Images by Use of Frequency Analysis

CAD (Computer Aided Diagnosis) system that has 3-D viewer function to display the DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine) image has been developed in recent years. Now, the function of CAD system for artificial implant to which development is advanced includes the removal of artifact in the input DICOM image, region extraction of bone, major vessel, and nerve and mounting of function to presume place where implant is stricken. However, it is still required a software with high performance because of taking the processing time to do a series of operation before simulating by the strike of the implant on the operation on a clinical site. In this paper, we propose the function to extract the area of bone separately for teeth and mandibles automatically as addition to the system that can do a series of operation before simulating by the strike of the implant. In addition, we proposed also the function to extract each tooth separately. The main aim of this paper is to develop the integrative system for the dental screening that can be operated in a personal computer.

Recently, the necessity of environmental regulation, low fuel consumption, and natural energy development is proposed by environmental issues. So the demands of power transistor devices are increased. But measurement technique of the current distribution is not keeping up with further miniaturized and integrated were needed in present condition. Now, therefore, ensuring security attended high functionalization is a subject. IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) is the device that used for wide range of power devices. So we are developing imaging system used non-contact sensor arrays aimed to IGBT production line. In this paper, we propose a development of a supporting system for visual inspection IGBT device based on statistical feature and complex multi-resolution analysis. First, this performs signal de-noising after entering well-known good data and measured data. Second, the statistical feature is expressed the difference between good data and measured data are calculated. Last, classifying of good and inferiority is performed based on the result of threshold processing. In the paper, we applied our algorithm to 28 sample data including 20 good data and 8 inferiority data.
