가연성가스 검지용 산화주석 센서의 반응특성에 대한 첨가물의 영향을 연구하였다. 염화주석과 암모니아의 액상반응시 첨가물을 넣어 만든 α-stannic acid를 650°C에서 2시간동안 열처리하여 만든 센서의 일산화탄소, 메탄 및 프로판 가스에 대한 감도와 선택성을 비교센서인 피가로사의 센서와 비교하였다. The influence of additives on the combustible gas sensing characteristics of tin oxide gas sensor has been investigated. Additives were introduced during the aqueous reaction of SnC14 and ammonia solution. The resulting a-stannic acid was calcined at 650℃ or 2 hours. Gas sensing characteristics to the carbon monoxide, methane and propane were compared with the commercial Figaro Co. sensors.

Laboratory results showed that methanol treatment of hydrated lime increased the BET surface area of the lime. The SO₂ capture capacity of the sorbent was increased. The SO₂ capture capacity of the sorbent was correlated with the surface area. At in-duct injection temperature 70-150℃, the temperature dependence of the SO₂ capture capacity of the sorbent was not shown.

본 연구에서는 연탄의 연소특성 연구 및 평가에 적합한 연소장치를 개발하여 연소 실험의 정확도와 재현성 향상 및 사용 편익을 도모할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 시료의 건조, 점화 및 연소감량 측정 방식의 개선과 개인용 콤퓨터에 의한 자동화 방안을 제시하고 이를 이용한 연소 실험을 수행하였다. A coal test combustor for measurement of the combustion characteristics of holed coal briquette has been developed. New methods of drying and ignition were used to improve the accuracy and precision of measurements. The temperature, mass, and carbon monoxide emissions are continuously monitored throught the experiments. The microcomputer is coupled with test combustor system through a A/D and D/A converter for process control and data acquisition. And the new experimental conditions of standard holed coal briquette combustion test has been proposed through the extensive preliminary experiments.

Familial benign chronic pemphigus is a rare autosomal dominant disease characterized by recurrent vesicobullae on intertriginous areas. It's very hard to treat, so there's many kind of treatment such as steroid, antibiotics, retinoid, operation, phototherapy, laser ablation. We report 2 cases of familial benign chronic pemphigus that showed good improvement with treatment of antibiotics

R&D to reduce NOx emissions from stationary sources remains focused on retrofit combustion modifications for conventional pulverized coal-fired boilers. Application of LNB with OFA is the preferred approach for tangentially fired and wall-fired units. Flue gas recirculation affects thermal NO. Reburning is effective for abating fuel NO formation in oil and coal-fired boilers. Emerging advanced reburning technologies may provide high NOx and Sox control options for existing coal-fired power plants. R&D activity with postcombustion NOx controls continues on SCR. However, SNCR technologies are receiving increased attention.

Sulfur pollutant reduction technologies for coal combustion can be categorized into three groups: 1) pre-combustion coal cleaning. 2) during combustion in-situ sulfur reduction and advanced combustion. and 3) post combustion flue gas desulfurization. A certain amount of the sulfur can be removed from the coal prior to combustion by coal cleaning. Advanced combustion. including the fluidized-bed combustors, pressurized fluidized-bed combustors, and the integrated gasification combined cycle can also achieve high sulfur pollutant reduction. Limestorn slurry scrubbers, although costly, have been effective in removing more than 90% of the sulfur oxides form the flue gas. Emerging in-duct dry sorbent injection technologies may provide low-cost retrofit sulfur dioxide control options for existing coal-fired power plants.

Lymphangioma is an uncommon, benign hyperproliferation of the lymphatic vessels, and this consists of dilated lymphatic channels lined by a normal, single layer of endothelial cells. Various methods have been tried for the treatment of lymphangioma, including cryotherapy, electrocauterization, surgical excision, laser therapy, radiotherapy and itralesional injection of sclerosing agents. Yet these methods have shown low success rates and various side effects. It has recently been reported that intralesional injection of OK-432 is a safe and effective alternative therapy for lymphangioma, and especially for macrocystic lesion. In this report, we describe a patient with lymphangioma on the upper labial mucosa and this patient was successfully treated with intralesional injection of OK-432 without any serious complications. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first such case reported on in the Korean dermatological literature. (Korean J Dermatol 2008;46(10):1398∼1401)

Hyperpigmentation caused by medication or toxic agents accounts for 10∼20% of all the cases of acquired hyperpigmentations. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, antimalarials, amiodarone, cytotoxic drugs, tetracyclines, heavy metals and psychotropic drugs are most commonly responsible for hyperpigmentation. A 74-year-old man who had taken antituberculosis drugs (rifampin and isoniazid) for 4 months developed generalized hyperpigmentation. The histopathologic finding revealed an increased number of dermal melanophages with pigment incontinence. Eight months after termination of the antituberculosis medication, his skin lesion improved without any treatment. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of generalized hyperpigmentation due to rifampin and isoniazid in a patient without adrenal insufficiency in the dermatological literature. 27-Hydroxycholesterol (27OHChol) exhibits agonistic activity for liver X receptors (LXRs). To determine roles of the LXR agonistic activity in macrophage gene expression, we investigated the effects of LXR inhibition on the 27OHChol-induced genes. Treatment of human THP-1 cells with GSK 2033, a potent cell-active LXR antagonist, results in complete inhibition in the transcription of LXR target genes (such as LXRα and ABCA1) induced by 27OHChol or a synthetic LXR ligand TO 901317. Whereas expression of CCL2 and CCL4 remains unaffected by GSK 2033, TNF-α expression is further induced and 27OHChol-induced CCL3 and CXCL8 genes are suppressed at both the transcriptional and protein translation levels in the presence of GSK 2033. This LXR antagonist downregulates transcript levels and surface expression of CD163 and CD206 and suppresses the transcription of CD14, CD80, and CD86 genes without downregulating their surface levels. GSK 2033 alone had no effect on the basal expression levels of the aforementioned genes. Collectively, these results indicate that LXR inhibition leads to differential regulation of 27-hydroxycholesterol-induced genes in macrophages. We propose that 27OHChol induces gene expression and modulates macrophage functions via LXR-dependent and -independent mechanisms.

Electrically conducting carbon-polymer composite was obtained by the incorporation of carbon black(furnace and acetylene black) with the unsaturated polyester resins (general purpose, gel-coat and heat-resisting grade). Favorable conditions for preparing the conducting composite were investigated. Volume resistivity of electrically conducting samples was measured by simple method.
