The Work Experience of Newly Recruited Male Nurses during COVID-19: A Qualitative Study

        Huiyue Zhou,Xin Wang,Ruofei Du,Xiang Cheng,Kexin Zheng,Shiqi Dong,Justin Henri,Changying Chen,Tao Wang 한국간호과학회 2021 Asian Nursing Research Vol.15 No.3

Purpose: This study was to investigate the work experience of newly recruited male nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: With a phenomenological approach, this qualitative study was adopted semistructured interviews by phone or video calls. A total of 9 male nurses newly recruited for the COVID-19 wards in Chinese hospitals were interviewed for this study. And Colaizzi's method was applied for evaluation in the data analysis. Results: Based on our findings, three themes were extracted. First, the newly recruited male nurses showed negative emotions at the beginning of COVID-19 epidemic, which was caused by changes in working conditions and content, but also prompted the nurses to change the way of coping with the crisis. Second, they gradually mastered the working skills and psychological training to cope with COVID- 19 and developed a positive attitude toward life and a high sense of professional responsibility. Finally, we learned about their needs to respond to public health emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion: COVID-19 is a disaster for all of humanity. The newly recruited male nurses are an important force in emergency rescue. Although they suffered from short-term negative emotions, they quickly adapted to the crisis. In order to better prepare for future emergencies, the disaster response capacity of newly recruited male nurses needs to be further improved. In addition, newly recruited male nurses have a strong demand for timely and personalized career development guidance.

      • A Framework of Implications for Smart Tourism Development in Hong Kong

Ye, Huiyue,Zhang, Ke,Law, Rob Smart Tourism Research Center 2021 Journal of smart tourism Vol.1 No.1

Smart tourism, a promising development trend for destinations, has drawn growing attention from practitioners and academics. Extant research has laid a solid theoretical foundation on the roles of technology and effects of smart tourism on tourists. However, little is known about structured and profound implications for a destination's smart tourism development. Thus, by selecting Hong Kong as a case city, this study proposes a framework of implications for smart tourism development. A qualitative approach was employed to gain insights from smart tourism stakeholders. Results shed light on nine elements that boost the smart tourism development of destinations. These nine elements serve as a significant reference for policy-making. Several theoretical and practical implications are provided for scholars, practitioners, and policy makers.

Hybrid Visual Servoing for Rivet-in-hole Insertion Based on Super-twisting Sliding Mode Control

        Hua Liu,Weidong Zhu,Huiyue Dong,Huiyue Dong 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.8

Aiming at solving the rivet-in-hole insertion problem of the complement riveting process, a novel hybridvisual servoing controller is proposed for an automatic drilling and riveting system, in which, combination ofvisual and laser sensor feedback is adopted to determine the relative pose errors of the rivet with respect to thehole. To compensate the system uncertainties, a super-twisting sliding mode controller (STSMC) is designed toprovide continuous control inputs, and the end-effector can move to the desired pose by exponentially decreasingthe feature errors. The proposed control scheme not only guarantees the stability of the control system but alsoprovides a robust and quick rivet spot-positioning in the presence of manipulator errors and external disturbancesof the riveting system. Finally, rivet-in-hole insertion experiments were conducted, the results show that accuratepositioning can be achieved within a finite time (1∼5s) which meets the demand of high-efficiency and flexibilityin the riveting process since it can achieve global convergence from any initial camera pose as long as the hole is inthe field-of-view (FOV) and the laser displacement sensors are in the working range at the beginning.

The Construction of the Heterostructural Bi2O3/g-C3N4 Composites with an Enhanced Photocatalytic Activity

        Jinhua Zhang,Huiyue Qian,Wencheng Liu,Hao Chen,Yang Qu,Zhidong Lin 성균관대학교(자연과학캠퍼스) 성균나노과학기술원 2018 NANO Vol.13 No.6

A heterostructural composite composed of g-C3N4 and Bi2O3 was achieved by the one-pot and thermal-induced polycondensation method using melamine and Bi(NO3)3 as precursor at 550 ℃ under air atmosphere. The crystalline phase, components and morphologies of the as-prepared composites were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Besides, the photocatalytic activity of composites was evaluated by degrading RhB aqueous solution at room temperature under visible light irradiation. Compared with bulk g-C3N4, the photocatalytic efficiency of the 0.5% Bi2O3/g-C3N4 (Bi–CN) was increased by up to four times. The introduction of Bi2O3 enhances not only the light absorption ability, but also the separation of photogenerated electron–hole pairs.

      • Conceptualizing Accessible Tourism with Smart Technologies

Lin, Katsy Jiaxin,Ye, Huiyue,Law, Rob Smart Tourism Research Center 2022 Journal of smart tourism Vol.2 No.2

In recent years, UNWTO and academics have called for the development of responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism to promote equal human rights and social inclusion. Prior studies have also revealed the potential and value of smart technologies in reducing, if not removing, barriers to people with access requirements during travel and in their everyday lives. However, a guiding framework of how smart technologies assist in building an accessible destination is still absent, thereby hindering the progress of building accessible tourism. This paper aims to fill this knowledge gap. A conceptual model of smart accessible destination (SAD) was proposed drawing from the intersection of accessible tourism and smart tourism. With the guidance of this conceptual model, tourism destinations and stakeholders can recognize and utilize the synergies of accessible and smart tourism to enhance the social inclusion, competitiveness, and sustainability of a destination.

      • Domestic Tourists' Perception of Hotel Websites in Thailand

Chitlada Pinthong,Sunny Sun,Huiyue Ye,Rob Law Smart Tourism Research Center 2023 Journal of smart tourism Vol.3 No.4

With the growing trend of online global market, customers have further technological capabilities in searching for information and online shopping on the Internet. In addition, electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) is a significant factor that influences customer purchase intention. However, the perspective of online users on hotel websites is still in its infancy, especially in various cultural contexts. The current study examined a theoretical framework of hotel websites to understand how online users perceive the importance of hotel websites with regard to influencing purchase intention, within the content of Thai online users through an online questionnaire survey. Findings show that usability positively influences online Thai users' satisfaction. Moreover, eWOM has a significant positive influence on satisfaction, but eWOM has an indirect effect on the intention to purchase. Practical implications are further discussed.

Synthesis and Characterization of Hollow Silver Spheres at Room Temperature

        Huiyu Chen,Yaqing Liu,Guizhe Zhao 대한금속·재료학회 2011 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.7 No.2

Hollow silver spheres were synthesized at room temperature using sodium borohydride (NaBH4) as the reducing reagent and poly (vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) as the surfactant. The size of the synthesized hollow spheres ranged from 120 to 250 nm, and the surface was composed of many smaller silver nanoparticles. The asobtained product was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-vis absorption spectra. The amount of PVP had a significant effect on the morphology of the resultant silver samples. With an increasing concentration of PVP, the silver products possessed rod-like and shuttle-like shapes. The UV-vis spectrum demonstrated that the broad absorption peak centered at 417 nm resulted from the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) excitation of silver.
