Background: The mechanism of peripheral axon transport in neuropathic pain is still unclear. Chemokine ligand 13 (CXCL13) and its receptor (C-X-C chemokine receptor type 5, CXCR5) as well as GABA transporter 1 (GAT-1) play an important role in the development of pain. The aim of this study was to explore the axonal transport of CXCL13/CXCR5 and GAT-1 with the aid of the analgesic effect of botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) in rats. Methods: Chronic constriction injury (CCI) rat models were established. BTX-A was administered to rats through subcutaneous injection in the hind paw. The pain behaviors in CCI rats were measured by paw withdrawal threshold and paw withdrawal latencies. The levels of CXCL13/CXCR5 and GAT-1 were measured by western blots. Results: The subcutaneous injection of BTX-A relieved the mechanical allodynia and heat hyperalgesia induced by CCI surgery and reversed the overexpression of CXCL13/CXCR5 and GAT-1 in the spinal cord, dorsal root ganglia (DRG), sciatic nerve, and plantar skin in CCI rats. After 10 mmol/L colchicine blocked the axon transport of sciatic nerve, the inhibitory effect of BTX-A disappeared, and the levels of CXCL13/CXCR5 and GAT-1 in the spinal cord and DRG were reduced in CCI rats. Conclusions: BTX-A regulated the levels of CXCL13/CXCR5 and GAT-1 in the spine and DRG through axonal transport. Chemokines (such as CXCL13) may be transported from the injury site to the spine or DRG through axonal transport. Axon molecular transport may be a target to enhance pain management in neuropathic pain.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅환경이란 우리 주변환경에 내재되어 모든 사물 및 사람에 보이지 않는 네트워크로 연결된 새로운 공간을 말한다. 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅은 정보화 사회의 차세대 키워드로 되어가고 있다. 이에 따라 현재 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 관한 연구가 많이 진행되어가고 있다. 지금의 개인용 컴퓨터 사용으로부터 차세대의 유비쿼터스 컴퓨터 사용으로 전환하기에는 지금의 컴퓨터사용법을 토대로 하는 인간과 유비쿼터스 컴퓨터의 교류가 필요하다. 인간과 전기기기 혹은 옷과 빌딩과 같은 모든 사물간의 교류는 기존의 인터넷 가상공간에서 이종 언어 통신수단으로 이용되고 있는 아바타를 가상공간 이외의 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅환경이라는 새로운 공간으로 전개한 것으로 볼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 현재 실생활중의 컴퓨터환경과 구별되는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨터환경을 보다 용이하게 이용하는 방법으로 化身話를 이용한 통신 방법에 대해 검토하였다.
Formation of Dual Threshold in a Vertical Alignment Liquid Crystal Device

We present a method that enables dual threshold voltages in a vertical alignment liquid crystal device,through which the gamma shift can be reduced with no subsequent decrease in the contrast ratio. By forming polymer layers, the threshold voltage shift is accomplished through the utilization of the voltage drop effect. We expect that the proposed method can be applied to the conventional 4-domain mode in order to achieve an 8-domain mode without the need for complex driving schemes.

Purpose: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common malignant tumor of liver cells. Researchers have reported thatcancer susceptibility candidate 2 (CASC2), a long non-coding RNA, is down-regulated in various cancers, including HCC. Ourstudy aimed to investigate the molecular mechanism(s) of CASC2 in HCC. Materials and Methods: Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) was used to analyze the expression of CASC2 and miR-183 inHCC tissues and cells. The viability of HCC SMMC-7721 and Huh-7 cells was detected through MTT assay. Colony formation assaywas performed to assess the colony formation ability of HCC cells. The migration and invasion abilities of HCC cells were evaluatedby Transwell assay. Western blot was conducted to examine levels of key Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway factors, C-myc, cyclinD,survivin, and β-catenin. The interaction between CASC2 and miR-183 was affirmed by bioinformatics analysis andluciferase reporter assay. Results: CASC2 was down-regulated in HCC tissues and cell lines, while miR-183 was up-regulated. The expression of miR-183was negatively correlated with CASC2 expression in HCC tissues. Overexpression of CASC2 inhibited cell viability, colony formation,migration, and invasion in HCC cells, as well as Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway activity. miR-183 was a downstream targetof CASC2 and negatively regulated by CASC2. Introduction of miR-183 rescued CASC2-induced suppressive effects on HCC cellviability, colony formation, migration, and invasion and Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Conclusion: CASC2 inhibited cell viability and the colony formation, migration, and invasion abilities of HCC cells by directlydownregulating miR-183 through inactivation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

By using dye-doped nematic LCs for the top LC layer, transflective displays with high reflectance were realized. It is expected that the proposed device can be applied to high-reflectance transflective devices for outdoor applications
