      • Research on Electromagnetic and Dynamic Properties of LPMBLDCM for Electromagnetic Launch

        In order to improve the thrust characteristics of moving-magnet type linear permanent magnet brushless DC motor (LPMBLDCM), the structural characteristics and magnetic field are analyzed. The influence of electrical parameters and structural parameters on the electromagnetic properties and thrust performance are researched by finite element analysis (FEA). The cogging force, back electromotive force (back-EMF), air-gap magnetic field distribution, mover velocity as well as thrust output are studied by taking some practical parameters into account, including pole/arc coefficient, air-gap width, voltage and current. The LPMBLDCM system is established, and some relevant tests are taken to verify the simulation results. Simulation and experimental results show that the thrust and mover velocity are mainly affected by some key parameters. The results will surely provide the reference and guidance for the optimization of electromagnetic and thrust characteristics of LPMBLDCM.

        Fabrication of novel Fe2O3/MXene cathode for heterogeneous electro-Fenton degradation of sulfamethoxazole

        Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) is a widely used antibiotic drug in medical applications resulting in its ubiquityin water and wastewater. Most of the treatment processes are inefficient in destroying SMX in water. Theheterogeneous electro-Fenton (EF)process shows promise in the non-selective degradation of antibioticdrugs in water and wastewater. Fe2O3/MXene-x (x is the ferric ion loading) was fabricated on 2DMXene carriers by hydrothermal method. The Fe2O3/MXene-x substrates were characterized by electronmicroscopic, X-ray, and molecular spectroscopic methods. Degradative products of SMX were identifiedby free radical quenching and LC-MS measurements. Electron micrographs show that Fe2O3 particulatesare uniformly distributed on MXene nanosheets. Fe2O3/MXene-x coated graphite was used as a cathodewith titanium anode for in situ generation of H2O2 required to produce free radicals (e.g. OH and O2 – ) todestroy SMX. Three possible SMX degradation routes by the electro-Fenton process were proposed. SMXand intermediates are eventually mineralized as CO2 and H2O. The new electrocatalyst shows reducedmetal ions leaching and good stability in repeated use cycles. This work offers a new electro-Fentonmethod to destroy antibiotic drugs in water and wastewater.

        Origin of dolomitization in the Lower Cretaceous Bayanhua Group dolomitized rocks, Bayindulan Sag, Erlian Basin

        The Bayindulan Sag situated in Erlian Basin, northeast China, is characterized by pervasive dolomitization in Upper A4 Member to Lower T1 Member of Bayanhua Group. These stratum in the Lower Cretaceous Bayanhua Group were deposited in a lacustrine environments. The main objective of this study is to identify the origin of dolomitization and distribution model of dolomitized rocks. Based on petrographic examination, mud-crystal dolomites (<0.03 mm), silt-crystal dolomites (0.03–0.1 mm) and fine-crystal dolomites (0.1– 0.25 mm) have been observed, and the former two types were predominant. Meanwhile, only one type of dolomite have been defined: replacive dolomite. A variety of dolomite textures have also been observed, the major ones of them are scattered, blocky, joined and annular textures. These dolomites have strongly depleted oxygen isotopic values from –17.48‰ to –6.96‰ with the average of –10.48‰ (PDB), carbon isotopic values from 0.24‰ to 8.37‰ with the average of 5.39‰ (PDB). The obvious depletion of oxygen isotopic was presented as a result of the increase in temperature with progressive burial, and the high carbon isotopic content of dolomites maybe result from the involvement of CO2 in the dolomitization process. These CO2 were generated by bio-methanation which commonly took place in moderately deep burial environments. The Sr values from 62.4 ppm to 262 ppm as well as the Sr/Ba ratios from 0.24 to 0.76 in Tengyi Formation mudstones indicate the freshwater lacustrine sedimentary environments. Taking the petrographic and geochemical data into consideration, the conclusion that the dolomites have formed in a freshwater environments during deep burial depths at temperatures of at least 60 °C can be drawn. Petrographic observations and mineralogy analyses indicate that dolomitization is closely associated with tuffaceous materials, the Mg needed for the dolomitization is provided by dissolution of tuffaceous materials and dolomitization is most probably driven by tuffaceous materials alteration at elevated temperatures.

        Genetic structure analysis of mantis shrimp Oratosquilla oratoria based on mitochondrial DNA control region sequence

        The genetic relationships of mantis shrimp Oratosquilla oratoria between the coastal waters of China and Japan were not well studied. To reveal the genetic differentiation and genetic structure among populations, we collected populations of mantis shrimp O. oratoria from the coastal waters of China and Japan to analyze the mtDNA control region variation. A total of 309 individuals of O. oratoria were collected from 13 localities (11 from China and 2 from Japan) and a segment of mitochondrial DNA control region was sequenced. Three hundred nine haplotypes were defined, yielding a very high haplotype diversity and nucleotide diversity. Two lineages of O. oratoria were revealed and displayed strong differences in the geographical distribution. In the coastal waters of China, the geographic distribution of the two lineages was completely separated by the Yangtze River estuary; however, the lineages showed geographic sympatry in two populations from Japan. Based on the lineage distribution, three groups were defined. There was no significant genetic differentiation among the populations within the three groups, indicating high gene flow within each group. Significant and negative values for Tajima D and Fu’s Fs tests, and mismatch distributions for two lineages indicated population expansion. The present result confirmed that the freshwater outflow from the Yangtze River formed a physical barrier and affected gene exchange. The different distribution patterns of the two lineages in coastal waters of China and Japan indicated that the larvae of O. oratoria were transferred from China to the coastal waters of Japan with a one-way gene flow.
