      • Honestly, What Exactly Is Plagiarism as Academic Dishonesty?

        As an English composition instructor for over twenty years, especiallyin the capacity of basic writing program coordinator, I have seen many,and have handled quite a few, cases of academic dishonesty. Plagiarismexists in all cultures and has always existed since the beginning ofliteracy. In today's world of advanced technology, plagiarism seemsgetting out of hand, in part, aided by technological gadgets unavailable adecade or two ago. I want to argue that plagiarism is a loaded concept whose meaning,from a rhetorical perspective, is contextually determined. I will advancemy argument in two steps: First I would like to examine how plagiarism,in addition to its dictionary meaning, is variously defined, by academicinstitutions, by professional organizations, and by individual scholars,especially by those who teach writing themselves. I will also explore thepossible causes behind plagiarism as I address each definition. Secondly,I will take a look at some reported statistics and individual cases alongwith their analyses in order to highlight the complexity of the issue ofplagiarism. We should pay closer attention than ever before to this issue aseducational exchange and knowledge sharing become increasingly internationaland intercultural. There is much we can do to educate our students onthe pitfalls of the inappropriate use of sources. That education should begiven early and often.

        The design of digital temperature transmitter based on microcontroller ADuC824 is introduced. With the peripheral feature integrated in microcontroller ADuC824 the hardware is simplified and reliability is improved. The interface of thermocouple with A/D converter in ADuC824 and RS232 interface with master computer is presented. The non-linear compensation and cold-junction compensation of thermocouple is provided.

        Knockdown of Long Non-Coding RNA NEAT1 Inhibits Proliferation and Invasion and Induces Apoptosis of Osteosarcoma by Inhibiting miR-194 Expression

        Purpose: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) has been implicated as an oncogenein the development and progression of osteosarcoma. This study aims to explore the mechanism of NEAT1 in osteosarcoma. Materials and Methods: Expressions of NEAT1 and miR-194 in osteosarcoma tissues and cells were detected by quantitative real-time PCR. The effects of NEAT1 knockdown or miR-194 overexpression on cell proliferation, invasion, and apoptosis were determinedby 3-[4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2, 5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay, transwell invasive assay, and flow cytometry analysis, respectively. Luciferase reporter assay was performed to observe the possible interaction between NEAT1 and miR-194. Results: NEAT1 was upregulated and miR-194 was downregulated in osteosarcoma tissues and cells. Knockdown of NEAT1 or overexpression of miR-194 suppressed proliferation and invasion and induced apoptosis of osteosarcoma cells in vitro. Luciferase reporter assay validated that NEAT1 could interact with miR-194 and negatively modulated its expression. Furthermore, inhibitionof miR-194 reversed the suppression of proliferation and invasion and the promotion of apoptosis induced by NEAT1 depletionin osteosarcoma cells. Conclusion: Knockdown of NEAT1 suppressed proliferation and invasion and induced apoptosis in osteosarcoma cells by inhibitingmiR-194 expression.

        An iterative method of statistical tolerancing based on the unified Jacobian–Torsor model and Monte Carlo simulation

        This paper focuses on exploring an iterative method of statistical tolerance design to guide designers to select tolerances more economically and effectively. After having identified the assembly functional requirement (FR) and the functional elements (FEs) of corresponding tolerance chain, the expression of a unified Jacobian–Torsor model can be derived. Monte Carlo simulation is employed to generate random variables simulating the variations of small displacement torsor associated with the FE pairs with all the generated random values being within the intervals constrained by the corresponding tolerance zones. Then, the real multiplication operations are repeatedly executed to this model, a large number of real torsor component values of FR will be obtained and we can perform statistical analysis for these simulated data to get the statistical limits of the assembly FR in the desired direction. The tolerances of critical FEs may need to be adjusted to satisfy the assembly FR imposed by the designer, and the percentage contribution of each FE to the assembly FR can help determine these critical tolerances that need to be tightened or loosened. Once the calculated FR is in close agreement with the imposed FR, the iterative process can be stopped, and the statistical tolerance redesign is achieved. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated with a case study. Compared with the deterministic tolerancing method, the results show that the proposed method is more economical and that can relax significantly the precision required, manufacturing and inspection costs can then be reduced considerably.

In this paper, above-mentioned theory has been demonstrated by using three kinds of rotor whose pitches are different.

      • Research on the Protection of Japanese Intangible Cultural property in the eyes of Chinese Scholars

        The concept of "intangible cultural heritage" is called "intangible cultural property" in Japan. The concept of "intangible cultural heritage" is called "intangible cultural wealth" by the Japanese. In 1871, Japan promulgated the "Antiquities and Old objects Protection Program", which symbolized that the protection of cultural heritage has been protected by law. Japan's achievements in the protection of intangible cultural heritage are various and worthy of our reference. Based on the comprehensive collection and collation of relevant domestic literature on intangible cultural heritage in Japan, this paper makes a theoretical narrative and gives an objective and fair evaluation, so as to provide a reference for the study of intangible cultural heritage in China.

        Based on the comprehensive collection the relevant literatures on the study of Japanese Nogaku in China, this paper classifies and summarizes the relevant literatures, and then comprehensively discusses the production and development of Japanese Nogaku, the comparison between Nogaku and other operas, the aesthetic concept of Nogaku and the research on the related issues of Nogaku, and make an objective evaluation, aiming at improving the cognitive level of Japanese Nogaku Research in China.

        소셜뮤직 앱 서비스 이용자의 비지속적 사용 의사에 미치는 영향 요인에 관한 연구

        연구 목적: 본 연구는 소셜뮤직 앱 서비스 이용자의 비지속적 사용 의사에 미치는 영향 요인을 연구함으로써 앱 운영자가 플랫폼을 최적화하는 데 참고적 자료가 될 수 있도록 한다. 연구 방법: 본 연구는 자극-유기체-반응 이론을 토대로 사회적 비교, 프라이버시에 대한 관심, 정보 과부하, 기능 과부하, 불안, 피로와 비지속성 사이의 영향 요인 모델을 구축하였다. 연구 내용: 본 연구에서는 393부의 유효 설문지를 회수하였고 PLS-SEM 소프트웨어를 통해 소셜뮤직 앱 이용자의 불안, 피로, 비지속적 사용 의사에 대한 메커니즘을 연구하였다. 결론 및 제언: 본 연구는 내부동기(사회적 비교, 프라이버시에 대한 관심)와 외부동기(정보 과부하와 기능 과부하)가 불안과 피로를 통해 이용자의 비지속적 사용 의사에 영향을 미친다는 것을 발견하였다. 소셜뮤직 앱 운영자는 이용자의 내부동기와 외부동기를 충분히 고려하여 이용자의 불안과 피로를 완화해야 하며 나아가 앱 이용자의 활동을 강화해야 한다. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the discontinuance intention of social music APP users, to help APP operators propose platform optimization solutions. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) theory, this study constructs a model of the factors influencing social comparison, privacy concerns, information overload, function overload, anxiety, fatigue, and discontinuance intention. This study collected 393 valid questionnaires and used the structural equation model software PLS-SEM to examine the mechanisms of motivational factors on social music APP users’ anxiety, fatigue, and users’ discontinuance intention. This study found that internal motivation (social comparison, privacy concerns) and external motivation (information overload and function overload) influence users’ discontinuance intention through anxiety and fatigue. Social music APP operators need to integrate internal and external motivational factors to alleviate users’ anxiety and fatigue, to increase community user activity.

        On the Theoretical Discourse of Performing Aesthetics of Hunan Huagu Opera

        후난화고희(湖南花鼓戲)는 중국 전통 희곡 가문의 대표적인 희극이다. 독특한 인물이 특징이며 연출 방식, 노래하는 기술, 무대 및 화장 등을 사용함으로 대중들이 자주 즐겨 보게 되며 미의 대상이 되었다. 본고는 이러한 인식을 바탕으로 후난화고 희의 연구관점을 취하고 후난화고희 공연 미학을 연구대상으로 문헌 분석과 현장 조사를 통해 모든 재료를 파악한 기초 위에서 입론을 진행하려고 한다. 후난화고희 공연 미학 어법 체계 속에 있는 ‘희로애락경, 애환이합정(喜怒哀樂驚, 悲歡離合情)’의 서정성, ‘삼오보행편천하,육칠인백만웅병(三五步行遍天下,六七人百萬雄兵[서너 걸음 이면 천하를 두루 다닐 수 있고, 예닐곱 남자는 백만 병사를 대표할 수 있다]).’라는 상징적 묘사. ‘안령정용력, 면상심중생 (眼靈睛用力, 面狀心中生[눈에 힘을 주면 눈이 밝고 영성이 있고 얼굴의 상태 변화는 마음에서 비롯된다.])’의 전신성(관객에게의 정신적 전달)과 창법、대사낭독、몸동작의 표현、손、 눈、몸의무용법(唱念做打,手眼身法步)의 기교성 등 문제를 중 심으로 모든 면의 토론을 전개하여 이 영역의 연구를 추진하고자 한다. Hunan Huagu Opera is a representative type of Chinese traditional opera. With its unique role, performance program, singing music, stage makeup and other ways of existence, it has become a popular aesthetic object. Based on this understanding, this paper takes the research perspective of Hunan Huagu Opera, takes the performance aesthetics of Hunan Huagu Opera as the research object, and makes a comment on the basis of analyzing the literature and field investigation, focuses on the lyricism of "Grief at separation and joy in Union", the freehand expression of "Three or five steps can travel all over the world, six or seven men can represent millions of soldiers", the expressive of "Eyes are vivid and powerful, facial expressions convey emotions " and the skills of "Singing, dialoguing, dancing and martial art, Principle of eyes, gesture, body figure and steps" in the discourse system of Hunan Huagu Opera Performance aesthetics, in order to promote the research of this domain.
