To investigate the effect of asphaltene content on the change of physical properties of modified asphalt, the experiments were performed by changing amounts of additive, catalyst, heating temperature, heating time and amount of air. The results from the experiments are as follows: 1. The contents of asphaltene observed from the chemical treatment of straight asphalt as a raw material increased in the order of catalyst use of FeCl₂and P₂O , addition of polymer and heating temperature. However the effect of air blowing was negligible. 2. As a result of increased asphaltene contents in straight asphalt, the decreasing rate of penetration was observed to be nearly propertional to the increasing rate of softening point.

This model was based on the theory of Box-Jenkins multiplicative ARIMA (SARIMA) and the Transfer function to simulate changes of monthly runoff. The forecasting of Runoff from the pair of observed value of effective rainfall and runoff (X_(t), Y_(t)) in the uniform interval will gives less standard error then the analysis only by Y_(t), so the object of this study is more rational forecasting by the use of (X_(t) , Y_(t)). I analyzed the records of monthly runoff and effective rainfall, and applied the multiplicative ARIMA model and Transfer function-noise model. so I made it possible to do the long-term forecasting and got following results.
Box-Jenkins法을 利用한 河川水質의 時系列 豫測

This study was carried out to develop the stochastic stream water quality model for the intaking station of Taejoun City waterworks in the Keum River system. The monthly water dissolved oxygen with periodicity and trend were forcasted by multiplicative ARIMA models and then the applicability of the models was tested based on 13years of the historical monthly water quality data at Taejoun City intaking site. The parameter estimation was made with the monthly observed data. The last one year data was used to compare the forcasted water quality by ARIMA model with the observed. The models are ARIMA(2.0.2)x(2.1.1)_(12) for dissolved oxygen. The forecasting results showed a good agreement with the observed. It is implying the applicability of multiplicative ARIMA model for forecasting monthly water quality at the Taechoung site.

During studies of the ripening reaction of titanium oxalate, a new crystalline phase has been found. The crystal system was determined to be orthormbic with space group C222₁. The unit cell parameters were refined to a=10.503(2)Å b=15.509(3)Å c=9.700(1)Å. The chemical formula of the crystal Ti₂O₂(C₂O₄)(OH)₂ㆍH₂O. When heated to temperatures between 310℃ and 380℃, the material became amorphous. Heated above 410℃ converted it into the anatase-type titanium dioxide.

PbTiO₃ was prepared by addition of lead-thanium mixed aqueous solution to an ethanol solution of oxalic acid. The influence of various ripening factors was investigated. On the basis of the results in the mono-component system, we studied the foramtion of PbTiO₃ phase with various ripening conditions. The PbTi₃ phase formation was accelerated with the ripening time, temperature and uhrasonic irradiation.

On the precipitation and ripening reaction of the precipitates from a lead nitrate and an oxalic acid dissolved in ethanol, a new crystalline phase was obtained, whose X-ray diffraction data have not previously been reported. The crystal system was determined to be monoclinic. The unit-cell parameters were refined to a =10.613(2)Å, b =7.947(2)Å, c =6.189(1)Å, and β =104.48(2)°.
마취유도시 기도유지의 방법으로 후두마스크 삽관법과 기관내튜브 삽관법의 심혈관계 반응의 비교 연구

The adverse cardiovascular effects of laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation are well known. We compared the cardiovascular response of conventiomal tracheal intubation with that of newly developed Laryngeal Mask insertion in twenty-four ASA class I patients. Anesthesia was induced with injection of fentanyl 2 ug/kg, thiopental sodium 4 mg/kg and vecuronium 0.15 mg/kg intravenously. Ventilation was controlled for 5 minutes with inhalation of 50% nitrous oxide and 1 vo1% of isoflurane or 1.5 vol 8% of enflurane before tracheal intubation or laryngeal mask insertion in all patients. The patients are random1y assigned to either tracheal intubation group(ET group) or Laryngeal Mask group(LM group). After tracheal intubation or insertion of laryngeal mask, blood pressure(systolic, diastolic and mean) and heart rate were measured for 5 minutes at 1 minute interval. In all the parameter, cardiovascular response in ET group was significantly higher than that of LM group for 5 minutes after intubation. It is concluded that insertion of Larynaeal Mask is beneficial to a certain patients than use of laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation to avoid harmful cardiovascular respones in the management of airway during general anesthesia.
Kinetic Model for Oxidation of Carbon Fiber/Glass Matrix Composites

A kinetic model predicting the oxidation of carbon fiber reinforced glass matrix composites has been described. The weight loss of composites during oxidation implied that a gasification of carbon fiber takes place and the transport of reactants $(O_2)$ or product (CO or $CO_3$) in the glass matrix was partially the rate controlling step. The kinetic model in this study was based on the work of Sohn and Szekely which may be regarded as a generalization of numerous models in the gas-solid reaction system. A comparison of this model with experimental data is also presented.
