        Advanced Information Security Management Evaluation System

        Information security management systems (ISMSs) are used to manage information about their customers and themselves by governments or business organizations following advances in e-commerce, open networks, mobile networks, and Internet banking. This paper explains the existing ISMSs and presents a comparative analysis. The discussion deals with different types of ISMSs. We addressed issues within the existing ISMSs via analysis. Based on these analyses, then we proposes the development of an information security management evaluation system (ISMES). The method can be applied by a self-evaluation of the organization and an evaluation of the organization by the evaluation committee. The contribution of this study enables an organization to refer to and improve its information security levels. The case study can also provide a business organization with an easy method to build ISMS and the reduce cost of information security evaluation.

        일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연성, 자존감, 외현적 자기애, 내현적 자기애 및 심리적 안녕감 간의 구조적 관계분석

        본 연구의 목적은 일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연성, 자존감, 외현적 자기애, 내현적 자기애 및 심리적 안녕감 간의 구조적 관계를 알아보고 직 간접효과를 규명하는 것이 다. 이를 위해 울산시에 소재한 남구 U고등학교와 북구 H고등학교에 재학 중인 일반계 고등학교 남녀 학생 804명을 대상으로 2018. 월 6일부터 2주간 인지적 유연성, 자존감, 외현적 자기애, 내현적 자기애, 심리적 안녕감 척도를 사용하여 조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Ver 22.0과 AMOS Ver 22.0 프로그램을 사용하여 구조방정식모형 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 및 논의를 통해 얻어진 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연성은 자존감, 외현적 자기애, 심리적 안녕감에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 그러나 일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연성은 내현적 자기애에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는다. 둘째, 일반계 고등학생의 외현적 자기애, 내현적 자기애는 심리적 안녕 감에 직접적인 영향을 미친다. 그러나 일반계 고등학생의 자존감은 심리적 안녕감에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않는다. 셋째, 일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연성은 외현적 자기 애를 매개로 심리적 안녕감에 간접적인 영향을 미친다. 일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연 성은 외현적 자기애, 내현적 자기애를 순차적으로 매개하여 심리적 안녕감에 간접적인 영향을 미친다. 일반계 고등학생의 인지적 유연성은 자존감, 내현적 자기애를 순차적으로 매개하여 심리적 안녕감에 간접적인 영향을 미친다. 이상의 연구결과를 통해 일반계 고등학생의 교육과 상담 및 심리치료 현장에 인지적 유연성을 향상시킬 수 있는 기회와 체험, 교육의 시간이 필요하며 안정적으로 높은 자존감을 획득하여 외현적 자기애와 내현적 자기애를 적절히 조절하여 긍정적인 자기애를 확보할 수 있도록 다양한 상담및 심리치료 프로그램이 필요하다는 점을 시사한다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the structural relationships among cognitive flexibility, self-esteem, overt narcissism, covert narcissism and psychological well-being of general high school students. In order to achieve the purpose, U high school and H high school city in Ulsan Metropolitan. For the purpose of 792 students date, were used for this study. The data have been analyzed by using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0. Model fit indices have been estimated to examine the model identification using maximum likelihood estimation, and the structural relationships has been analyzed using the structural regression analysis. The conclusions from the results and discussion are as follow: First, cognitive flexibility of general high school student has a direct impact on self-esteem, overt narcissism and psychological well-being, but cognitive flexibility of general high school student has no direct impact on covert narcissism. Second, overt narcissism and covert narcissism of general high school student has a direct impact on psychological well-being, but self-esteem of general high school student has no direct impact on psychological well-being. Third, cognitive flexibility of general high school students has an indirect effect on psychological well-being through overt narcissism. but, cognitive flexibility of general high school student has no affect on psychological well-being through mediating self-esteem and covert narcissism.

        Secure and Efficient Code Encryption Scheme Based on Indexed Table

        Software is completely exposed to an attacker after it is distributed because reverse engineering is widely known. To protect software, techniques against reverse engineering are necessary. A code encryption scheme is one of the techniques. A code encryption scheme encrypts the binary executable code. Key management is the most important part of the code encryption scheme. However, previous schemes had problems with key management. In an effort to solve these problems in this paper, we survey the previous code encryption schemes and then propose a new code encryption scheme based on an indexed table. Our scheme provides secure and efficient key management for code encryption.

      • Pro-apoptotic activity of N-myc in activation-induced cell death of microglia

        <P>Abstract</P><P>Brain microglial cells are thought to undergo apoptosis following the exposure to inflammatory stimuli such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and IFN&ggr;, which is considered as an autoregulatory mechanism to control their own activation state. Here, we report that N-myc constitutes a novel apoptotic pathway of LPS/IFN&ggr;-activated microglia. The expression of N-myc was synergistically enhanced by LPS and IFN&ggr; in microglia. Tetracycline-based conditional expression of N-myc sensitized microglia to nitric oxide (NO)-induced apoptosis. Knockdown of N-myc expression using small interfering RNA (siRNA) attenuated LPS/IFN&ggr;-induced microglial apoptosis. An increase in N-myc expression, however, did not affect microglial production of NO or TNF&agr;. The synergistic effect of LPS/IFN&ggr; on the microglial N-myc induction was mediated through Janus kinase (JAK)/STAT1 (signal transducer and activator of transcription 1) pathway. Taken together, LPS/IFN&ggr;-induced N-myc participated in the activation-induced cell death of microglia by sensitizing the cells to NO-induced apoptosis; however, N-myc did not influence the processes of inflammatory activation of microglia.</P>

        접근제어형 데이터베이스 보안 시스템의 보호프로파일

        실생활에서 네트워크가 차지하는 비중이 점점 커지면서 데이터가 집약되어있는 데이터베이스 보안의 중요성도 점점 증가하고 있다. 현재 데이터베이스 보안은 크게 사용자 접근제어 방식과 데이터의 암호화 저장방식으로 구분된다. 그러나 데이터베이스 보안시스템에 대한 범용의 보호프로파일이 아직 존재하지 않기 때문에 정확한 평가가 어렵다. 이에 본 논문은 사용자 접근제어 형 데이터베이스 보안시스템의 보안기능요구사항을 개발한다. 본 논문은 접근제어 형 데이터베이스 보안시스템이 갖춰야 할 기본적인 필수기능을 제안한다. 이는 데이터베이스 보안시스템 평가 시 참고자료로 충분히 활용될 수 있을 것이다. With increasing the amount of processed information over the network, the importance of database system increases rapidly. There are two types of security system for database, access control and data encryption. However, it is hard to evaluate security of database systems using the Common Criteria(CC) as there is no protection profile(PP) for these systems. In this paper, we propose a protection profile for secure database systems which can be used in formal evaluation using the Common Criteria. The proposed protection profile can be used by both developer and consumer to evaluate security of database systems.

        Induction of microglial apoptosis by corticotropin-releasing hormone

        <P>Abstract</P><P>Neuropeptides are short-chain peptides found in brain tissue, some of which function as neurotransmitters and others as hormones. Neuropeptides may directly or indirectly modulate glial functions in the CNS. In the present study, effects of various neuropeptides on the viability and inflammatory activation of cultured microglia were investigated. Vasoactive intestinal peptide, substance P, cholecystokinin and neuropeptide Y did not affect microglial cell viability, whereas corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) induced a classical apoptosis of mouse microglia in culture as shown by nuclear condensation and fragmentation, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick-end labeling, and cleavage of caspase 3 and poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase protein. CRH, however, did not influence nitric oxide production or expression of inflammatory genes including those encoding cytokines and chemokines, indicating that CRH did not affect the inflammatory activation of microglia. The CRH-induced microglial apoptosis appeared to involve a mitochondrial pathway and reactive oxygen species, based on the mitochondrial membrane potential change, caspase 9 activation and sensitivity to antioxidants. Taken together, our results indicate that the stress neuropeptide CRH may regulate neuroinflammation by inducing the apoptosis of microglia, the major cellular source of inflammatory mediators in the CNS.</P>

        TLR4, but not TLR2, signals autoregulatory apoptosis of cultured microglia: a critical role of IFN-beta as a decision maker.

        <P>TLRs mediate diverse signaling after recognition of evolutionary conserved pathogen-associated molecular patterns such as LPS and lipopeptides. Both TLR2 and TLR4 are known to trigger a protective immune response as well as cellular apoptosis. In this study, we present evidence that TLR4, but not TLR2, mediates an autoregulatory apoptosis of activated microglia. Brain microglia underwent apoptosis upon stimulation with TLR4 ligand (LPS), but not TLR2 ligands (Pam(3)Cys-Ser-Lys(4), peptidoglycan, and lipoteichoic acid). Based on studies using TLR2-deficient or TLR4 mutant mice and TLR dominant-negative mutants, we also demonstrated that TLR4, but not TLR2, is necessary for microglial apoptosis. The critical difference between TLR2 and TLR4 signalings in microglia was IFN regulatory factor-3 (IRF-3) activation, followed by IFN-beta expression: while TLR4 agonist induced the activation of IRF-3/IFN-beta pathway, TLR2 did not. Nevertheless, both TLR2 and TLR4 agonists strongly induced NF-kappaB activation and NO production in microglia. Neutralizing Ab against IFN-beta attenuated TLR4-mediated microglial apoptosis. IFN-beta alone, however, did not induce a significant cell death. Meanwhile, TLR2 activation induced microglial apoptosis with help of IFN-beta, indicating that IFN-beta production following IRF-3 activation determines the apoptogenic action of TLR signaling. TLR4-mediated microglial apoptosis was mediated by MyD88 and Toll/IL-1R domain-containing adaptor-inducing IFN-beta, and was associated with caspase-11 and -3 activation rather than Fas-associated death domain protein/caspase-8 pathway. Taken together, TLR4 appears to signal a microglial apoptosis via autocrine/paracrine IFN-beta production, which may act as an apoptotic sensitizer.</P>

        Differential effects of ethanol on glial signal transduction initiated by lipopolysaccharide and interferon-γ

        <P>Although the pathogenic effects of alcohol abuse on brain are well established, its specific effects on the intracellular signal transduction pathways of glial cells in the central nervous system (CNS) are poorly understood. In this study, we evaluated how ethanol affects the glial signal transduction associated with inflammatory activation. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), gangliosides, and interferon (IFN)-γ induced the inflammatory activation of glia, which was differentially influenced by ethanol: 1) ethanol inhibited LPS- or gangliosides-induced, but not IFNγ-induced, glial activation as demonstrated by the production of nitric oxide and the expression of inflammatory genes such as interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α, IP-10, and CD86; 2) nuclear factor (NF)-κB or JAK/STAT1 pathway was necessary for LPS- or IFNγ-induced glial activation, respectively; 3) ethanol inhibited LPS-induced NF-κB activation; and 4) ethanol did not significantly affect IFNγ-induced STAT1/IRF-1 activation. Based on these results, ethanol seems to inhibit selectively some parts of the glial signal transduction pathways that are associated with inflammatory activation, which may lead to the deregulation of CNS inflammatory responses. © 2005 Wiley-Liss, Inc.</P>

      • The effects of a newsletter on bedding control on house dust mite allergen concentrations in childcare centers in Korea

        Objectives Bedding in childcare centers (CCCs) can hold house dust mite (HDM) allergens. This study examined whether HDM allergen levels can be reduced through the distribution of an educational newsletter on bedding control to parents of CCC children in Korea. Methods All 38 CCCs were measured for Der 1 (sum of Der f 1 and Der p 1) concentrations on classroom floors and bedding before the intervention. Educational newsletters on children’s bedding control were sent to 21 CCCs by mail, and teachers were asked to distribute the newsletters to the parents of the children (intervention group). The remaining 17 CCCs were not sent newsletters (control group). The measurement of Der 1 concentrations in 38 CCCs was repeated after the intervention. Dust samples were collected with a vacuum cleaner and analyzed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay methods. Results The Der 1 concentrations on the bedding were significantly higher than those on the floors in 38 CCCs at baseline (p <0.05). Although changes of the Der 1 concentrations for the control group (n=17) were not significant, Der 1 concentrations for the intervention group (n=21) decreased significantly from 2077.9 ng/g dust to 963.5 ng/g dust on the floors and from 3683.9 ng/g dust to 610.4 ng/g dust on bedding (p <0.05). Conclusions The distribution of educational newsletters on bedding control to parents may be an effective means of controlling HDMs in CCCs.
