        Characterization of the effect of He<sup>+</sup> irradiation on nanoporous-isotropic graphite for molten salt reactors

        Irradiation-induced damage of binderless nanoporous-isotropic graphite (NPIG) prepared by isostatic pressing of mesophase carbon microspheres for molten salt reactor was investigated by 3.0 MeV He<sup>+</sup> irradiation at room temperature and high temperature of 600 ℃, and IG-110 was used as the comparation. SEM, TEM, X-ray diffraction and Raman spectrum are used to characterize the irradiation effect and the influence of temperature on graphite radiation damage. After irradiation at room temperature, the surface morphology is rougher, the increase of defect clusters makes atom flour bend, the layer spacing increases, and the catalytic graphitization phenomenon of NPIG is observed. However, the density of defects in high temperature environment decreases and other changes are not obvious. Mechanical properties also change due to changes in defects. In addition, SEM and Raman spectra of the cross section show that cracks appear in the depth range of the maximum irradiation dose, and the defect density increases with the increase of irradiation dose.

        Background: Cerebral palsy (CP) is non-progressive disorder of motion and posture. In CP patient, there are difficulties in dental treatment because of uncontrolled movement of limb and head, and conjoined disabilities such as cognitive impairment, sensory loss, seizures, communication and behavioral disturbances. It is reported that CP patients have high incidence in caries and a higher prevalence of periodontal disease. But, despite the need for oro-dental care, these patients often are unlikely to receive adequate treatment without sedation or general anesthesia because of uncontrolled movements of the trunk or head. Methods: We reviewed the 58 cases of 56 patients with CP who underwent outpatient general anesthesia for dental treatment at the clinic for the disabled in Seoul National University Dental Hospital. Results: The mean age was 19 (2-54) years. The number of male patient was 40 and that of female was 18. They all had severe spastic cerebral palsy and 22 had sever mental retardation, 15 epilepsy, 8 organic brain disorder, 1 blindness, 2 deafness and cleft palate. For anesthesia induction, 14 cases was needed physical restriction who had sever mental retardation and cooperation difficulty, but 44 cases showed good or moderate cooperation. Drugs used for anesthesia induction were thiopental (37 cases), sevoflurane (14 cases), ketamine (3 cases ) and propofol (4 cases). All patients except one were done nasotracheal intubation for airway management and 4 cases were needed difficult airway management and 1 patient already had tracheostomy tube. Mean total anesthetic time was $174{\pm}56$ min and staying time at PACU was $88{\pm}39$ min. There was no death or long term hospitalization because of severe complications. Conclusion: If general anesthesia is needed, pertinent diagnostic tests and workup about anomaly, and appropriate anesthetic planning are essential for safety.

        During the past two years. We surveyed the monthly variations of DO, PH, COD, TSS, PO4--P, TIN in Noksan. It seemed that the concentrations were gradationally increasing in all parameters as the landfill proceeding. It is the result that the influents of soils and sands were naturally increased as the landfill proceeding and organisms and nutrients of land are influenced to the ocean by increasing a rainfall.

        Background : In recent years, gonorrhea has been panedemic and remains one of the most commom STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. Objective & Methods: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of PPNG, we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. Results: In 1996, 139 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 53(39.0%) were PPNG. Conclusion: Our results suggests that after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, the prevalence of PPNG in Seoul is gradually declining.

        The Effects of Fucosylated Chondroitin Sulfate Isolated from Isostichopus badionotus on Antimetastatic Activity via Downregulation of Hif-1α and Hpa

        Fucosylated chondroitin sulfate (CHS) wasprepared from the sea cucumber Isostichopus badionotus(Ib-CHS), and the antimetastatic effect was studied usingcell adhesion, migration, invasion, chorioallntoic membrane(CAM), and reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) assays. Ib-CHS remarkably suppressed proliferationof 95D cells, and inhibited adhesion, migration, and invasionof 95D cells in a dose-dependent manner. CAM assayresults suggested that Ib-CHS attenuates neovascularizationin the chick embryo. RT-PCR analyses revealed that Ib-CHS dramatically decreased expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2/9 (MMP-2/9), hypoxia-inducible factor (Hif-1α), heparanase (Hpa), and vascular endothelial growthfactor (VEGF), and increased expression levels of the tissueinhibitors of metalloproteinase-1/2 (TIMP-1/2), importantinhibitors of MMP-2/9. Ib-CHS markedly inhibited tumorgrowth, improved the metastatic foci occurrence rate, anddown-regulated expressions of Hif-1α, Hpa, and VEGF invivo. Ib-CHS exerted antimetastatic activities in vitro andin vivo.

        The Analysis on Suspense Setting as a Narrative Technique in Blind

        드라마와 영화 등 과학기술 발전에서 파생된 시각예술이 탄생하기 전에, 소설, 오페라, 연극의 서스펜스 설정은 이러한 예술작품의 발전의 축으로 여겨져 왔기 때문에 문학예술 탐구에서 매우 중요한 지위를 차지하고 있다. 드라마와 영화는 문학예술의 재창조, 서스펜스 설정 역시 문학예술의 중요한 위치에 있기 때문에 예술적인 탐구에서 중요한 화두로 떠오르고 있다. 영상예술로 서의 가장 중요한 미학은 서사적이고, 영화의 매력은 이야기의 매력이다. 서스펜스 설정은 서사를 다루는 기법 중 하나로 많은 사람들의 간절한 소망과 뜨거운 관심을 자극하는 심리상태를 불러일으킬 수 있다. 스릴러 영화는 언제나 정교하게 깎아내는 정교한 구성의 스릴러를 통해 그들의 모험적인 심리를 구현하고자 한다. 〈블라인드〉는 스토리는 단순하지만, 서스펜스 설정을 통해 영화 관람에 대한 시청자들의 욕망을 불러일으키고 있어 영화에 큰 인기를 끌고 있다. 영화 〈블라인드〉는 인물과 갈등, 우연성, 줄거리, 시청언어, 색채, 편집 등을 분석해 영화 서스펜스를 설정하는 기법을 연구한다. Before the rise of TV shows and movies such as derived from the technology developed in the visual arts, fiction, opera and drama of suspense, is considered to be the main line of development of such works of art, which occupies a very important position in literature and art to explore. TV shows and movies are re-creation of art and literature, suspense because its important position in literature and art, and video art has become an important topic to explore. Narrative is the most important aesthetic mechanism for film art, and it makes a great contribution to the charm of storytelling. As one of the devices of narrative, suspense can arouse the expectation and concerns from the audience. Suspense movie often by suspense build audiences for a plot, delicate and complex maze of the ornament to meet their psychological needs of the “adventure”. Despite the relatively simple storyline and the old-fashioned content, Korean movie Blind still successfully aroused the audience’s curiosity and brought itself reputation by skillfully implanting suspense. By analyzing the plot, narrative time and space, as well as narrative perspective of Blind, The use of narrative to learn the relevant theories of suspense in the film to create mechanism analysis and the versatile application of suspense in films and TV.

        페이스북,트워터 등의 소셜 네트워크 서비스(SNS: Social network service)의 지속적인 성장과 더불어,소셜 네트워크 서비스를 이용하여 공동구매자를 모아 저렴한 가격으로 쇼핑을 하는 소셜 쇼핑(Social Shopping) 또한 활발하게 이용되고 있다. 이 과정에서 소셜쇼핑 사이트 이용자가 일반 쇼핑 사이트보다 더 큰 사회적 실재감을 느끼게 된다. 본 연구에서는 사회적 실재감을 '감정', '자기표현감', 자기효능감', '소통 정도', '인간관계유지성'의 다섯 가지 요소로 세분화하고 이러한 사회적 실재감이 쾌락적 쇼핑가치를 통해 사이트 사용의도에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 알아본다.

        Gold Immunolocalization of Rubisco and Rubisco Activase in Pyrenoid of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

        The pyrenoid ultrastructure and distribution of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase (Rubisco) and Rubisco activase in the chloroplasts of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was studied using the immunogold localization technology with electron microscopy. There were several tubular thylakoids invading in the pyrenoid matrix to form several spokewise channels. The connections between pyrenoid matrix and stroma of chloroplast were the partial of channels. The starch sheath surrounding the pyrenoid was separated into several parts by the connections in transection. Some thylakoids were packed together near the connections in one side of the pyrenoid. Those special structures might be used to transport substance between pyrenoid and stroma of chloroplasts. With the antibody raised against the large subunits of Rubsico from C. protothecoides, the result of the gold immunolocalization of Rubisco in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii showed most of the gold particles heavily labeled the pyrenoid matrix, as well as the starch sheath matrix, and very few in the stroma of chloroplasts. The gold particle density was 880.00 $\pm$ 164.32, 190.00 $\pm$ 152.39 and 9.60 $\pm$ 5.37 ${\mu}m^{-2}$ in pyrenoid matrix, starch sheath and stroma region of chloroplast respectively (background: 5.67 $\pm$ 1.53 ${\mu}m^{-2}$). 99.59% of the total Rubiscos was calculated to be concentrated in the pyrenoid matrix and starch sheath by spatial densities. The gold immunolocalization of Rubisco activase also showed that Rubisco activase was mainly concentrated in the periphery of the pyrenoid and the starch sheath (the density was as high as 229.69 $\pm$ 96.96 ${\mu}m^{-2}$). There were very few gold particles located in the stroma of chloroplasts. These results indicated that pyrenoid surface and starch sheath was the site for Rubisco activation and $CO_2$ fixation, which supported the suggestion that pyrenoids perform photosynthesis function.
