Exergoeconomic analysis of an LNG integrated - air separation process
Hamayun Muhammad Haris,Ramzan Naveed,Faheem Muhammad 한국화학공학회 2023 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.40 No.12
An integrated LNG regasification - air separation process is investigated using exergy and exergoeconomic analyses. The objective of developing this integrated process is to lower the calorific value of LNG by mixing regasified LNG with high purity nitrogen, while simultaneously recovering and utilizing valuable cryogenic energy from the LNG during its regasification to minimize the power consumption of the air separation unit (ASU) for nitrogen production. The overall exergy efficiency and exergy destruction of the integrated process are 76.47% and 28.52MW, respectively, with the compression section causing the most exergy destruction. Further exergoeconomic analysis of the proposed process reveals that the air compressors have the highest capital investment (CI) and operating and maintenance (O&M) cost rates, the pumps for cooling water and LNG have the highest exergoeconomic factors, and the low-pressure column and a multistream heat exchanger have the highest exergy destruction cost rates. A parametric study is also conducted to examine the impact of economic variables including interest rate, plant life, and compressor performance on exergy destruction, CI and O&M cost rates, and exergoeconomic factor. The findings of this study offer valuable insight into the design and optimization of similar integrated processes, with potential benefits for the energy industry.

Three different chitosan conjugated magnetic nanoparticles (CCMN) of Co, Ni and Fe were prepared using co-precipitation method. The prepared CCMN were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Xray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) spectroscopic techniques. The SEM results showed a smooth surface morphology with almost uniform particle size and irregular shape structure for all CCMN. The XRD study revealed the crystalline structure in case of Co-CCMN and Ni-CCMN, while amorphous nature of Fe-CCMN was observed. The particle size of the prepared CCMN was found to be <95 nm, as confirmed from SEM and XRD analyses. Similarly, FT-IR analysis showed the incorporation and conjugation of Co, Ni and Fe magnetic nanoparticles into the chitosan polymer matrix. The point of zero charge (PZC) was found to be 7.41 for Co-CCMN and Ni-CCMN and 7.70 for Fe-CCMN. The photocatalytic activity of the prepared CCMN was investigated under UV light irradiation (254 nm and 15 W) in the aqueous medium using bromophenol blue (BPB). The photocatalytic process was monitored by UV-visible spectrophotometer for different irradiation times (0 to 10 h). The results showed that all the prepared CCMN displayed good to excellent photocatalytic property where the highest degradation was exhibited by Fe-CCMN (94.5%), followed by Co-CCMN (85.1%) and Ni-CCMN (83.0%). The prepared catalysts were recycled and reused, maintaining good photocatalytic activity for four consecutive batches.

Gibberellin (GA) production by soil fungi has received little attention, although substantial work has been carried out on other aspects of plant growth promoting fungi (PGPF). In our studies we investigated GA production and growth-promoting capacity of a novel fungal strain isolated from the roots of soil-grown cucumber. Pure cultures of 19 endophytic fungi were tested for shoot length promotion of Waito-C rice to identify the GA production capacity of these fungal isolates. Isolate MH-6 significantly increased shoot length (12.9 cm) of Waito-C, in comparison to control treatments. Bioassay with culture filtrate (CF) of MH-6 also significantly promoted growth attributes of cucumber plants. Analysis of MH-6 CF showed the presence of physiologically active (GA1, 1.97 ng/mL; GA3, 5.18 ng/mL; GA4, 13.35 ng/mL and GA7, 2.4 ng/ mL) in conjunction with physiologically inactive (GA9 [0.69 ng/mL], GA12 [0.24 ng/mL], GA15 [0.68 ng/ mL, GA19 [1.94 ng/mL and GA20 [0.78 ng/mL]) gibberellins. The CF of MH-6 produced greater amounts of GA3, GA4, GA7 and GA19 than wild type Fusarium fujikuroi, a fungus known for high production of GA. The fungal isolate MH-6 was identified as a new strain of Cladosporium sp. on the basis of sequence homology (99%) and phylogenetic analysis of 18S rDNA sequence.

Development of Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Model for Pakistan
HAMAYUN, Khadija,HAFEEZ, Shakir Korea Distribution Science Association 2022 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.9 No.7
To measure economic performance, customer satisfaction indices are constructed. This study proposes an index for banking and telecom, a significant evaluative system for comparing and enhancing customer satisfaction across the industries. The study suggests and examines amendments and improvements to the prior indices and incorporates ignored indicators to propose a punier index for Pakistan. The study is a pioneer in integrating online and offline indices into a single comprehensive model. The study is enriched by the Theory of Reasoned Action and Technological Acceptance Model. A sample of 320 respondents was used. The sample was divided based on gender and marital status. To authenticate the theoretical model, PLS-SEM was applied. We discovered nine latent variables that define customer satisfaction and conclude that a single model can be utilized for e-commerce enterprises as well. The index scores are comparable to the American index for banking and the Turkish index for telecom. Multi-group analysis (MGA) was used to comprehend the differences among the groups. This reveals that customization, design, reliability, and responsiveness induce satisfaction in telecom male and married customers. For the banking industry, the difference exists in complaint handling, customization, corporate image, perceived price, reliability, responsiveness, sentiments, convenience, and security to satisfaction links, image and complaint handling to loyalty links.
