      • 接木한 배나무의 樹齡에 따르는 燐酸의 消長에 대한 硏究

        It is very essential problem that the study on the translocation of nutritious substances between the scion and the stock when the seedlings were grafted. So the present experiments was carried out to investigate the behavior of phosphorous in the leaves, stems, new shoots and roots of scion and stock for the different age of tree after the pear-tree was grafted. For the study the seedlings were raised in the green-house of Agr. and Indus. college of Kon-kuk University. The results obtained from this work may be summarized as follows. ① The Phosphosrous contents in leaves, 2 to 3 year grafted-pear was slightly increased as compare with the same year-old stock. ② The phosphorous contents in the new shoots, one year grafted-pear was markedly decreased as compare with the same year-old stock. However 2 year-old galled-pear was gently increased. ③ The phosphorous contents in the stem and roots, there is no different between the grafted-pear (scion) and stock without relation to the age of tree.

      • 황색종 원료잎담배 숙성과정중 지습에 따른 품질변화

        This study was carried out to investigate the influence of the dampness of concrete floor in storeroom on the quality of packed flue-cured leaf tobacco with corrugated causes for aging. The results were summarized as follows. The moisture and relative humidity conditions at the 15cm height from the concrete floor were 2.2℃ lower and 16% RH higher than those at the 300 cm height in the storeroom. Due to loading position, no significant changes in moisture content of leaf tobacco in the third layer was found. However, in the first layer, 2.4% of increase in moisture content was found. In the case of the layer, the circumference of corrugated casses was increased more largely than in the middle. During aging, the nicotine and total sugar content and pH value in leaf tobacco were decreased. Due to loading position, the pH, nicotine and total sugar content of leaf tobacco in the first layer were decreased significantly than those in the third layer. After aging, the degree of the lightness(L) and the yellowness(b) of leaf tobacco in the first layer were dropped by 3.2 and 2.5, respectively. However, the degree of the redness(a) was Increased by 0.63. Mold was occured in the leaf tobacco at the low part of the first layer.

        Mobile networks support the mobility of subnets as well as the mobility of subnets. Node mobility means that the internet connection is sustained while nodes move around. All internet connections are sustained while nodes connected on a subnet move around under the network mobility. We have implemented a mobile network system: MR (mobile Router) and HA (Home Agent) in the linux environment, confirming to the network mobility basic protocol IETF RFC3963. In this paper, we report the implementation experiences. Implementation details and some experimental results are summarized in this paper. With our implementation one can use internet service any time, and anywhere i.e., car, train, airplane, ship, etc.

      • 정상인에서 베타3-아드레날린 수용체 유전자의 변이가 복부 비만도 및 지질대사에 미치는 영향

        The β₃-adrenergic receptor is expressed in visceral adipose tissue in humans and is thought to contribute to the regulation of the resting metabolic rate and lipolysis. We studied the influence of a mutation in the β₃ -adrenergic receptor gene(Trp64Arg) on body fat distribution, central obesity, lipid metabolism in 65 healthy young male adults. One out of 65 subjects were homozygous (Arg/Arg) for the trp64Arg mutation, 17 subjects were heterozygous (Trp/Arg), and 47 lacked the mutation(Trp/Trp). The body weight, height, body mass index, waist-to-hip ratio were similar between the subjects with- and without the mutation. Total body fat, abdominal fat amount, body fat distribution, serum total- and HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride, glucose, and insulin concentrations were also not different according to the presence or absence of the mutation. These results suggested that Trp64Arg mutation in β₃-adrenergic receptor gene is not a major contributing factor for central obesity or change in lipid metabolism in Korean young adults.

        Recently, the research on the automatic mobile tractors has become active, especially steering control system. It is required that the steering system is able to robust to external loads, and to have large torque in a small area. The steering system consists of hydraulic components, mechanical parts, a steering actuator replacing the steering wheel, and a control device. In this paper, we proposed the steering fuzzy-control algorithm for automated tractor and its effectiveness has been shown by field test on the straight road, s-type road, and crank-type road.

      • Application of Genomic Information for Animal Molecular Breeding in Animal Industry

        Animal genomics and breeding center works for development of livestock industry through development of breeding technologies based on genomes. Through analysis technology of genomic information with commercialization of DNA chip and development of NGS technique at present, we can select and improve superior breeding stock. DNA chip technique using microarray can analyze millions of SNP genotypes in a short period and we are studying these techniques to make a tool for genomic selection. In the United States, they made a guideline for genomic selection in dairy cattle and this guideline is utilized. In addition Semex company and CRV center use genomic selection for Holstein dairy cattle. Semex says genomic selection reduce two years compared to the existing selection, cost will be shortened 50% and improving speed will be more than 30% accelerated. In Australia, the case of using genomic information has more 10% accuracy than the case of using parent's breeding value without phenotype information. Recently development of NGS technology leads to reduction of analysis costs, increase in analysis data quantity and shorten time of analysis genome. NGS technology is innovative tool in life science. With development of NGS technology, we can expect to increase the efficiency of genomic analysis. Development of NGS technology leads us to expand whole genome study from limited gene study. Human and rodential genome is researched over the past five years, but only recently lots of livestock's genomes like cattle and pig are researched. Also for domestic, studies on livestock genome and genomic information are accomplished but we have a poor infrastructure of genomic analysis. Thus, through the application technology using SNP chip data and NGS, new breeding technology is very important for prior occupation. Animal genomics and breeding center has four strategies and these are divided by application technology. 1. Development of animal breeding and statistical genetics based on genomic information. 2. Development of genomic analysis and application technology through analysis of genetic diversity and structure. 3. Registration of traditional breeds and securing intellectual property rights based on the genome of the unique genetic resources. 4. Development of technologies for improvement of disease resistance and economic traits.

        Microsatellite Marker를 활용한 토종닭 브랜드 집단 간의 유전적 다양성 분석

        본 연구는 국내에 보급되고 있는 대표적인 토종닭 브랜드인 한협3호와 농촌진흥청에서 개발된 브랜드인 우리맛닭, 두 브랜드 집단 간의 유전적 특성을 분석하여 향후 브랜드간의 차별화 전략을 구체화 하는데 있어 기초 자료로 활용하고자 실시하였다. 토종닭 실용계인 우리맛닭(W) 152수와 한협3호(H) 150수, 총 302수를 선발하여 공시재료로 활용하였으며, 다형성이 확인된 10종의 MS marker를 선발하여 활용하였다. 분석 결과, 두 브랜드의 평균 대립유전자의 수는 9.3으로 확인되었으며, 우리맛닭의 평균 대립유전자의 수는 8.4개, 한협3호는 7.2개로 우리맛닭이 보유한 대립유전자의 수가 많은 것으로 확인되었다. 반면, 기대되는 이형접합도(Ex H)와 관측된 이형접합도(Ob H)는 한협3호가 우리맛닭에 비해 높은 것으로 확인되었다. 두 브랜드 집단을 대상으로 각각의 MS marker의 유전자형을 분석하여 브랜드별 기대되는 이형접합도(expected heterozygosity: Ex H)와 관측된 이형접합도(observed heterozygosity: Ob H) 및 PIC(polymorphism information content)값을 계산하였다. 두 브랜드 집단 간의 유전적 유연관계를 분석 결과, DA distance는 0.132, 그리고 standard genetic distance는 0.199로 확인되었다. 두 브랜드 집단 간의 유전적 구조에 따라 각 개체들이 어떻게 분포되어 있는가를 확인한 결과, 두 집단에 속한 개체들은 크게 두 개의 그룹으로 나뉘어 분포하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 두 집단 간의 유전적 거리는 비교적 가깝지만 각 개체들간의 유전적 구조를 분석한 결과, 확연히 구분되는 유전적 특성을 지니고 있음을 확인하였다. To estimate the genetic characteristics within two brands of Korean native commercial chicken, we used a total of 302 genomic DNAs from two groups (Woorichicken: 152, Hanhyup3chicken: 150). Sizes of 10 microsatellite markers were decided using GeneMapper Software (v.4.0) after analyzing ABI 3130. Genetic diversity indices including expected heterozygosity (Ex H), observed heterozygosity (Ob H) and polymorphism information content (PIC). Frequencies of microsatellites markers were used to estimate heterozygosities and genetic distances. LEI0073 showed the highest value in all genetic diversity (Ex H, Ob H and PIC). On the other hand, MCW322 showed the lowest value in all genetic diversity. The calculated genetic distance of the two brand groups is 0.199 (standard genetic distance) and 0.132 (DA distance). Genetic distances of the two groups were relatively close to each other. Each individual is ramified to two brand groups in phylogenetic dendrogram.

        Genetic Relationships of Cattle Breeds Assessed by PCR-RFLP of the Bovine Mitochondrial DNA D-loop Region

        To investigate the genetic relationships among various cattle breeds, bovine mtDNA D-loop region was used in 411 animals of 18 cattle breeds, including 8 Asian Bos taurus, 7 European Bos taurus, 1 Asian Bos indicus, and 2 African Bos indicus. The size of amplified PCR products from mtDNA D-loop region was 964 bp and the products were digested by 15 different restriction enzymes. Two different band patterns were identified in eight restriction enzymes (BstXI, Hae III, Msp I, Apa I, Taq I, Alu I, BamH I, EcoN I) and the rest of restriction enzymes showed more than 3 different band patterns among which Apo I and MspR9 resulted in 7 different restriction patterns. The genotypes, number of haplotype, effective number of haplotype, and degree of heterozygosity were analyzed. Based on all the PCR-RFLP data, different haplotypes were constructed and analyzed for calculating genetic distances between these breeds using Nei's unbiased method and constructing a phylogenetic tree.

        Establishment of an Individual Identification System Based on Microsatellite Polymorphisms in Korean Cattle (Hanwoo)

        This study was conducted to establish an individual identification system comprising of 19 microsatellite markers located on different bovine autosomes. The markers were typed on 257 animals from five cattle breeds. In total, 112 alleles were detected from the genotyping of 19 microsatellite markers. The average heterozygosities ranged from 0.292 to 0.824 and the polymorphic information content (PIC) ranged from 0.274 to 0.817 in Hanwoo. We found that there were differences in allele frequencies in Hanwoo when compared with other cattle breeds. The calculated cumulative power of discrimination (CPD) was 99.999% when nine microsatellite loci were used for analysis in the individual identification system. Also the matching probability, the probability that two unrelated animals would show the same genotypes, was estimated to be $0.44{\times}10^{-9}$. Therefore, the nine markers used in this study will be used for individual identification in two million Hanwoo individuals.
