본 연구는 제주도 주요 습지에 도래하는 도요ㆍ물떼새류의 지소적인 연구의 일환으로, 1998년 3월부터 2000년 2월까지 2년간 매월 2회씩, 1) 동부지역(하도리 양어장, 종달리 해안 및 성산포 양어장)과, 2)서부지역(용수리 저수지, 금등리 해안 및 대정읍 일과리 해안)으로 나누어 조사하였다. 조사기간 중 2개 지역에서 관찰된 도요ㆍ물떼새류는 총 45종 5,117개체였으며, 지역별로는 동부지역에서 40종 4,910개체, 서부지역에서 38종 927개체로 나타났다. 계절별로는 봄철 2,821개체, 가을철 1,229개체로 봄철에 도래하는 개체수가 가을철보다 많았다. 우점종은 제1차 조사기간인 봄철에는 민물도요 Calidris alpina 2,024개체(88.5%), 흰물떼새 Charadrius alexandrinus 84개체(3.7%), 흰목물떼새 Charadrius placidus 11개체(2.4%)의 순으로 나타났으며, 가을철에도 민물도요 384개체(82.9%), 흰물떼새 20개체(4.3%), 흰목물떼새 11개체(2.4%)의 순으로 나타났다. 제2차 조사기간에는 봄철에 좀도요 Calidria ruficollis 116개체(21.8%), 민물도요 67개체(12.6%), 청다리도요 Tringa nebularia 58개체(10.9%)의 순으로, 가을철에는 민물도요 191개체(24.9%), 노랑발도요 T. brevipes 156개체(20.4%), 삑삑도요 T. ochropus 104개체(13.6%)의 순으로 나타났다. 동부지역은 서부지역에 비하여 우점도는 높았으나, 종다양도와 균등도는 낮게 나타났다. 동부지역과 서부지역간의 유사도는 0.85였다. 본 연구를 통해 물꿩 Hydrophasianus chirurgus, 검은머리물떼새 Haematopus ostralegus, 바늘꼬리도요 Gallinago stenura, 흰꼬리좀도요 Calidrius temminckii 등 4종의 제주도 미기록종과, 검은머리물떼새, 흰목물떼새, 넓적부리도요 Eurynorhynchus pygmeus, 알락꼬리마도요 Numenius madagascariensis 등 3종의 환경부 지정 보호조류가 관찰되었다. This study was part of a continuous research project on the status of migrating shorebirds on major wetlands in Cheju Island. This study was conducted twice every month for two years, from March 1998 to February 2000. The investigated location are mainly two areas. The first census areas were Hado-ri fishfarm and the coast of Jongdal-ri in Kujaw-up and Sungsan-po fishfarm in Sungsan-up, all located in the eastern part of Cheju Island. The second census areas were Yongsu-ri reservoir and the coast of Kumdung-ri in Hangyoung-myon and the coast of Ilgwa-ri in Dejong-up, all located in the western part of Cheju Island. In total, 45 species consisting 5,117 individuals were observed during the census period. There were 40 species and 4,910 individuals in the eastern area, 38 species and 927 individuals in the western area. The number of individuals of shorebirds in the spring migratory season was greater than in the autumn. The dominant species researched during the first census period were 2,024 individuals of Calidrius alpina (88.5%), 84 individuals of Charadrius alexandrinus (3.7%), 59 individuals of Charadrius placidus (2.6%) in spring and 384 individuals of Calidrius alpina (82.9%), 20 individuals of Charadrius alexandrinus (4.3%), 11 individuals of Charadrius placidus (2.4%) in autumn. The dominant species researched during the second census period were 116 individuals of Calidrius ruficolis (21.8%), 67 individuals of Calidrius alpina (12.6%), 58 individuals of Tringa nebularia (10.9%) in spring and 191 individuals of Calidrius alpina (24.9%), 156 individuals of Tringa brebipes (20.4%), 104 individuals of Tringa ochropus (13.6%) in autumn. Dominance index were recorded better in the eastern area than the western area, but species diversity and evenness index were recorded lower in the eastern area than the western area. Similarity index were 0.85 between the eastern area and the western area. Hydrophasianus chirurgus, Haematopus ostralegus, Gallinago stenura and Calidrius temminuckii, which are observed during the census period are previously unrecorded species on Cheju Island. Rare and endangered species were observed such as Haematopus ostralegus, Charadrius placidus, Numenius madagascariensis, and Eurynorhynchus pygmeus.
핸드오프로 인한 TCP 재전송 타이머의 타임아웃 방지 방안

It will be occurred unacceptably long pause and intermittent disconnection states due to handoffs under the mobile computing environment. The current TCP interprets these handoffs as network congestion and excutes the congestion avoidance algorithms which degrade TCP performance. To prevent degrading TCP troughtput due to the unnecessary timeout problem of source retransmitter timer caused by handoffs, we propose EHN(explicit handoff notification) message algorithm which resets the value of retansmission timer. By adapting EHN, the TCP source can maintain the pre-handoff' congestion window size after handoffs and prevent the abrupt decrease of congestion window size caused by timeout. Therefore, this scheme improves the TCP performance more than the current TCP implementations during handoffs. With the computer simulation, we compare our EHN scheme with the current TCP scheme and fast retransmission scheme and prove the validation of EHN.

purpose: This study was conducted to describe qualitatively the entities of nurse's experiences in general hospitals and to suggest basic data guiding research on developing Standards of clinical nursing practice in Korea. Method: Fourteen nurses working at general hospitals with over 300 beds in Seoul were interviewed in-depth until saturation using tape-recorders and transcription. Result: The central theme of clinical nursing practice experienced by subjects was "being with clients" that means accepting client's personal character, solving client's needs and providing client-centered nursing. A also "being with clients" was felt to be the responsibility of nurses which was learned from their nursing schools. The nursing strategies performed in order to be with patients were proving skillful nursing techniques, accepting, educating, emotional support, advocating, and self-reflecting, the subjects experienced somewhat problematic affects such as difficulties in interpersonal relationship, work overload, negative image of nursing, deficit of self-confidence for nursing actions, poor working conditions, and unfair treatment. Nurses at the hospital practiced with pride when they felt that they were accepted by clients. Conclusion: Further research is needed to analysis problems in clinical practice and the comparison of nurses' experiences of clinical practice, with nurses' experiences in various settings.
Regulation of the Manganese-containing Superoxide Dismutase Gene from Fission Yeast

The manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD) is a mitochondrial enzyme that dismutates a potentially toxic superoxide radical into hydrogen peroxide and dioxygen. To study the regulation of the Schizosac-charomyces pombe MnSOD gene, the 943 bp upstream region was fused into the promoterless b-galactosidase gene of the shuttle vector YEp357, which resulted in the fusion plasmid pMS14. Restriction mapping and nucleotide sequencing confirmed its construction. The synthesis of b-galactosidase from the fusion plasmid was induced by aluminum chloride, menadione, cad-mium chloride, manganese chloride, and hydrogen peroxide. It was also induced by NO-generating S-nitroso-N-acetylpenicillamine (SNAP). However, cu-pric chloride and zinc chloride did not affect the syn-thesis of b-galactosidase from the fusion plasmid. The b-galactosidase synthesis appeared to be independent of the Pap1 protein. These results suggest that some metals, oxidative stress, and nitric oxide regulate the S. pombe MnSOD gene.
An Analytical Short Channel MOSFET Model Using The Linearly-Graded Depletion Edge Approximation

By taking into account both the intrinsic MOS action and the source (drain) -substrate p-n jubction action, and by introducing the linearly-graded depletion edge approximation within the intrinsic MOS region,a rather simple physics-based short channel MOSFET model is suggested. This model would explain the typical short channel MOSFET behaviors in a consistent manner. Suggested expressions for the drain current in the full operation region, and the threshold voltage would give more accurate dependences of the various device parameters.
컴퓨터활용교육 : 프로그래밍 초보자를 위한 비주얼 기반의 C 프로그래밍 통합 환경

프로그래밍 초보자는 C언어를 처음 배울 때 여러 가지 면에서 어려움을 겪는다. 그 이유 중의 하나는 C 언어 문법 이해에 대한 학생들의 학습 부담이 크고, 문제 해결보다는 문법에 치중하는 경향이 있다. 또한 소프트웨어 개발에 대한 흥미를 유발시킬 수 있는 프로그래밍 도메인이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 문제 해결 중심의 C언어 교육을 지원하는 프로그래밍 환경을 제시한다. 이를 위하여 첫째, NXT 로봇 프로그래밍용 간단한 비주얼 프로그래밍 언어 Tiny-VPL을 정의하고, Tiny-VPL로 로봇프로그래밍을 할 수 있는 환경을 제시하며, 둘째 간단한 C 언어인 Mini-C언어를 사용하여 NXT 로봇 프로그래밍을 할 수 있는 환경을 제시한다. 그리고 Tiny-VPL을 Mini-C로 변환하며, 변환결과를 대화형으로 제공하는 그래픽 인터페이스를 제시한다. 개발된 프로그래밍 환경은 로봇 프로그래밍을 통하여 학생들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있고, 비주얼언어와 C언어 사이의 관계를 그래픽으로 제공하여 문제 해결 중심의 C 언어 교육에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있다. Programming novices have various difficulties when they learn C language for the first time. Novices have a large burden for understanding of a C language grammar, and have a tendency to focus on the grammar rather than problem solving. Moreover, it requires programming domains to arouse student`s interest for software development. This paper presents a programming environment for C languages education focusing on a problem solving. To this end, this paper defines Tiny-VPL that is a simple visual programming language for NXT robot programming and presents robot programming environment using Tiny-VPL. This paper also presents an environment for NXT robot programming using Mini-C language which is a subset of C language. For the purpose of helping to understand the C syntax and semantics, the visual and interactive conversion system of Tiny-VPL to Mini-C is provided. Our programming environment can arouse student`s interest through robot programming and can be used effectively for C language education focusing on problem solving with graphical and interactive conversion of the visual language Tiny-VPL to the textual language Mini-C.
