      • Shifting paradigms for fashion: from total to global to smart consumer experience

        HaeJung Kim,안수경,Judith A Forney 한국의류학회 2014 Fashion and Textiles Vol.1 No.1

Emergence of a global techno-economic system is challenging academia and the fashion industry. Consumers, the retail industry and business strategies are strategically contributing to the changing fashion paradigm, which is shifting from the Total (TCE), to Global (GCE) and to Smart Consumer Experience (SCE) concepts. The consumer experience is a pervasive value orientation that is transforming how consumers think, gain information, and make decisions about consumption activities to maximize their total experience value. Moreover, the experiences, products and services that consumers seek are being defined with a global and smart perspective that is made possible by boundary-free access to information and sourcing of products and services. Specifically, the smart consumer experience advocates consumer participation by leveraging the power of communities and networks and enabling consumers to influence retail businesses and co-create future marketspace values. This phenomenon has implications for fashion consumers and fashion retail industry business strategies since fashion is an emulated behavior.

Normative Study of the Block Design Test for Adults Aged 55 Years and Older in Korean Aging Population

        Haejung Joung,Dahyun Yi,Hyejin Ahn,Younghwa Lee,Min Soo Byun,Kiyoung Sung,Dongkyun Han,Dong Young Lee,KBASE Research Group 대한신경정신의학회 2021 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.18 No.6

Objective The Block Design Test (BDT) is known to be an effective measure in diagnosing age-related cognitive decline of visuospatial function. The goal of this study is to investigate the effects of age, education years, and gender on the performance of the BDT and to provide normative data in Korean community-dwelling participants who are 55 to 90 years old. Methods The participants were 432 non-demented adults aging from 55 to 90 years old. The BDT was administered to participants according to its manual. Multiple linear regressions and analyses of variance were conducted, including age, gender, and educations were used as covariates. Results Age, educational years, and gender were found to be significantly associated with performance on the BDT. As age increased, BDT performance decreased. Educational years were associated with BDT performance. Men showed higher performance (29.9±10.3) compare to women (26.1±8.7). The BDT is influenced by age, educational years, and gender. Conclusion Unlike the previous study, the current study shows that gender has a significant influence in visuospatial ability in the old population. Present normative data will be useful for clinicians in evaluating aging participants with cognitive impairment.

An Overview of the ICF`s Use in Korea

        ( Haejung Lee ),( Jumin Song ) 대한물리치료학회 2015 대한물리치료학회지 Vol.27 No.5

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the overview of the use of the ICF in Korea. Methods: An integrative literature review from its publication in 2001 to May, 2015 was conducted; studies published from 2001 to May, 2015 were searched using RISS, KISS, DBpia, KoreaMed, PubMed, and ISI databases. For inclusion in the review, a study had to be published as a scientific article, must have participation of Korean researchers and developed in Korea, and should provide use of ICF. Results: A total of 108 publications were identified, and 89 studies met the inclusion criteria. Most eligible studies were related to clinical fields (n=41) and areas with the disabled (n=32). Interestingly, several studies showed how to use and/or adapt ICF in clinical practice e.g. reviews and case studies, whereas in the area of the disabled, descriptive studies reported ICF concepts comparing with the current disability policies and laws in Korea. The usage of ICF was found to be at various levels: introducing the ICF concept and model, collecting data using the ICF checklist, coresets, as well as ICF codes itself and presenting results in the ICF framework, developing measurement tools based on ICF concepts. Conclusion: Since introduction of the ICF in 2001, the use of the ICF in Korea has increased in different professionals as well as in levels of its applications.

Functioning Characteristics of Patients with Neck Pain: ICF Concept Based

        ( Haejung Lee ),( Jumin Song ) 대한물리치료학회 2019 대한물리치료학회지 Vol.31 No.4

Purpose: This study examine the functioning level and quality of life (QoL) of people with non-specific neck pain and neck pain with radiculopathy using the neck disability index (NDI), functional rating index (FRI), and short form of health survey 36 (SF-36) and each of linked lCF code lists of those scales. Methods: Each item of the NDI, FRI, and SF-36 were linked conceptually to the ICF code, and the lCF code lists of those scales were produced as iNDI, iFRI, and iSF-36, respectively. Seventy-nine patients with neck pain filled the instruments and its linked ICF code lists. The subjects were divided into two groups based on the diagnosis, non-specific neck pain (Group1), and neck pain with radiculopathy (Group2). A group comparison was performed using an independent t-test. The Pearson correlation coefficient was also used to analyze the relationships between each scale and the linked ICF code list. Results: The participants in Group 2 experienced more difficulties in their daily activities than those in Group 2 when examined in NDI and FRI (p<0.05). This result was also found consistently in the ICF code lists, iNDI and iFRI (p=0.05). On the other hand, the QoL did not show a difference between groups (p=0.06). A strong correlation was observed between the instruments and linked ICF code lists: NDI and iNDI (r=0.90), FRI and iFRI (r=0.91), and SF-36 and iSF-36 (r=-0.61). Conclusion: These findings suggest that the concept of each item in NDI and FRI could be linked to the ICF codes when examining patients with neck pain, but the items of SF-36 were found to be linked and expressed in ICF.

Development of the Korean version of ICF e-Learning tool

        ( Haejung Lee ),( Jumin Song ) 대한물리치료학회 2019 대한물리치료학회지 Vol.31 No.2

Purpose: The aim of the study was to develop a Korean version of an ICF e-Learning tool (KICF e-Learning tool). Methods: The process of translation and adaptation of the ICF e-Learning tool was followed: two translators developed the Korean versions independently, and a consensus version of the translation was then produced. An expert committee, which was composed of five experts from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social welfare, reviewed the consensus Korean version to make a beta version of the tool. A field test was conducted to determine if the Korean version of the tool was easy to understand and suitable to use in ICF learning. Feedback from the field test were used for the final adaptation of the KICF e-Learning tool. Results: One-hundred and twenty-six volunteers (40 males and 76 females) were invited to examine the KICF e-Learning tool. The participants reported various levels of ICF knowledge from none to very good. Forty-eight participants reported no knowledge of ICF. The majority of participants (n=84) reported that Korean terms or expression in the tool were easy to understand and one-hundred fourteen participants would recommend the tool to another person. The Korean cases would be helpful for a Korean audience to study the ICF using the tool. Conclusion: The KICF e-Learning tool was developed and is ready for use by the public for the consistency of ICF education. On the other hand, development of an advanced module will be needed.

      • How Facial Features Help “Personal Color” Diagnoses

        HaeJung Jang,YounJin Lee 한국색채학회 2017 AIC 2017 Jeju Vol.2017 No.10

The “Personal Color” refers to the color that best matches a combination of a person’s skin tone, hair color, and eye color, and this can be determined by placing pieces of fabric of different colors close to one’s face. Just as Johannes Itten, a Swiss color therapist, depicted four seasons with different colors, different colors employ different impressions. Though many researchers have studied various methods to find one’s “Personal Color,” not much has been done in Korea. There have been big margins of errors for “Personal Color” diagnosis performed on Koreans since they have almost homogeneous hair and eye colors, and customers have turned doubtful of the benefits of the diagnosis. The purpose of this research is to find the key factors to determine one’s “Personal Color,” and improve a customer’s understanding and level of satisfaction. Draw a survey of the consumer among the four seasons color palette that fit into the face. Based on the results of a group of experts diagnosed with skin color diagnosis, examine the differences between consumer perceptions and expert thoughts and examine how they affect the results of personal color diagnosis. This research suggests adding the facial features as key factors can significantly improve their understanding and satisfaction. We hope Korean professionals study customers’ facial features as well as their skin tones for more accurate “Personal Color” diagnosis in the future.

      • Using SNS for Impression Management: Suppression and Projection Strategies

        Haejung Yun,Han-Byeol Lee,Choong C. Lee 한국경영정보학회 2015 한국경영정보학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.2015 No.11

As social networking sites (SNS) started to work as important communication tools, SNS users have been try to manage their image, identity, and impression through SNS. SNS service providers have been interested to provide their users various functions effectively disclosing their emotion, such as posting, commenting, and sharing content; on the other hand, relatively few efforts have been made to provide SNS functions for information suppression. In this study, therefore, we try to attempt to examine the relationship between Facebook users’ personality and impression management behaviors. Personal traits of users including public self-consciousness, positive self-expression, and honest self-expression were considered as independent variables. Impression management behaviors are composed of two variables, which are suppression and projection. The survey was conducted targeting 230 Facebook users. The research findings show that public self-consciousness and positive self-expression are only positively associated with information suppression while honest self-expression is only positively associated with information projection.

        ( Haejung Lee ),( Jumin Song ) 대한물리치료학회 2015 대한물리치료학회지 Vol.27 No.6

Purpose: To explore the functioning information in the current medical records for patients with stroke using the comprehensive International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) coreset for Stroke. Methods: Physical therapists, who have more than 3 years of clinical experience in neurologic therapeutic area, filled out the coreset for Stroke based on their patients` medical records, and an interview was conducted for them. Each of the categories in the coreset was analyzed using frequency and percentage analysis. Results: A total of ninety patients with stroke were evaluated. Five categories of neuromusculoskeletal and movement functions in the body function domain were rated as having problems in over 90% of the patients. Four categories of the body structure domain were found as having a problem in over 73% of patients. In the domain of activity and participation, eight categories related to function of domestic lives, areas of major life and mobility were identified as having a problem for more than 90% of those patients. In the environmental factors, a category of health professionals was documented as facilitator in 87% of patients whilst nine categories, including products and technology, physical geography, services, systems and policies, were rated as barriers by more than 10% of patients. Conclusion: The current medical records of patients with stroke contain functioning information. Information regarding body function, and activity and participation was mainly focused on rehabilitation services. It is suggested that environmental factors should be included to understand patients` life situation which may have impact on patients` functioning.
