Application of Artificial Insemination Technology for Dairy Breeding in Mongolia

This study was focused on improvement of milk production in Mongolia dairy industry by artificial insemination (AI) technology, of which was supported from ODA project of KOICA in Republic of Korea. The study was started from January 2009 to present and 3rd years in this year. So, all data, especially synchronization and pregnancy of dairy cows (Holstein) will be summarized in final result in this year. For synchronization, total 81 dairy cows selected from 4 private farms that were 38, 30, 8 and 5 in Undarmal milk, Onjin (Enkhbayer), Jargalant, and BRM School, respectively. All the dairy cows were injected intramuscular (IM) of 5 ml PGF2α in the vulva and detected estrus 2 to 3 days after PGF2α injection. Total 78 out of 81 dairy cows (96.3%) were detected estrus by only 1 time injection of PGF2α. The dairy cows that were induced estrus, inseminated with 0.5 ml dairy frozen semen by conventional AI techniques. The pregnancy diagnosis of the AI dairy cows was detected by uterus palpation after 60 days of insemination. Total 75 from 78 inseminated dairy cows (90.1%) were diagnosis pregnant. The estrus induction and pregnant rate were very effective using PGF2α injection and conventional AI techniques in Mongolia dairy cow. The results indicated that AI after estrus induction in Mongolia dairy cows could be applied to dairy breeding technology to improve the breeding efficiency and milk production.

잣나무 交雜育種 내지 選擇育種에서 利用되는 人共交雜에 關한 基礎硏究의 一環으로 잣나무 花粉의 最適發芽條件을 究明하기 爲하여 人共培地를 利用, Agar, Sucrose 및 Raffinose 濃度를 달리하여 發芽試驗을 했든 바 다음과 같은 結果를 얻을 수 있었다. 1. Agar培地에서의 花粉發芽率은 0.5% 濃度에서 75.72%로 가장 높았으나, 培地造成時疑固가 안되는 關係로 花粉發芽力 調査를 위해서는 1.0%濃度(發芽率 67.4%)가 適當하며, 花粉管伸長에 있어서는 1.0%(花粉管伸長 170.5μm)와 1.5%(花粉管伸長 172.8μm) 濃度의 培地가 가장 適當하다. 2. 花粉發芽率에 最適한 Raffinose의 農道는 1.0%(花粉發芽率 81.7%)었으며, 花粉管伸長에 最適한 Raffinose의 濃度는 10%(花粉管伸長 183.7μm)였다. 3. 花粉發芽率 및 花粉管伸長에 最適한 Sucrose의 濃度는 15%(花粉發芽率 89.2%, 花粉管伸長 182.1μm)였다. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of different concentrations of agar, raffinose and sucrose on pollen germination rate and pollen tube elongation in Korean white pine (Pinus koruiensis Sieb. et Zucc.). The highest rate of pollen germination was obtained in the medium supplemented with 0.5% agar. However, because of the poor colloidal state of 0.5% agar, 1.0% agar was recommended for pollen germination and 1.5% for pollen tube elongation tests. The highest pollen germination rate of 81.7% was obtained in the medium with 1% raffinose and the best tube elongation of 183.7 pm was obtained in the medium supplemented with 10.0% raffinose. Sucrose concentration of 15% was found to be optimum for pollen germination as well as pollen tube growth.

In this paper, the static and dynamic characteristics of clow-poled PM step motor is analyzed by Finite Element Method. Step by step technique coupled with circuit and mechanical equation are performed. And moving line technique is applied to reduce the computing time when unit step response and dynamic characteristics are analyzed. Driving circuit for experiment is made and to conform the validity of this study and analysis results are compared with experimental ones.
생체내 심근허혈-재관류 모델에서 멜라토닌의 재관류 부정맥에 대한 심근보호작용에 관한 연구

Background: Recently, a few studies demonstrated that melatonin reduced the severity of myocardial reperfusion injuries, such as reperfusion arrhythmias. However, it is uncertain whether the melatonin reduces reperfusion arrhythmias in thus anesthetized animals because results were obtained using isolated hearts. Thus, to see whether melatonin reduces reperfusion arrhythmias in anesthetized animals, we examined the effect of melatonin on the incidence of reperfusion arrhythmias in an anesthetized-cat model of regional ischemia. Method: Adult mongrel male cats(n=30, 2.9∼4.2 kg) were anesthetized under positive-pressure artificial ventilation with room air. The animals of the control group(n=15) were subjected to 20-minute left anterior descending coronary artery(LAD) occlusion followed by abrupt reperfusion. The animals in experimental group(n=15) were divided into two. Group I(n=6) was pretreated with melatonin, 1 mg/kg, before occluding the LAD. Group II(n=9) was pretreated with melatonin, 10 mg/kg. The animals in experimental group were subjected to ischemia/reperfusion insult following drug treatment: melatonin was applied intra-peritoneally for 3 minutes just before LAD coronary artery ligation. The Fisher's exact test was used to compare the data from different animal groups. p<0.05 was considered significant. Results: The incidence of ventricular fibrillation(VF) during the reperfusion phase in group II(pretreated with melatonin, 10 mg) was significantly smaller than that in the control group(p-value = 0.0029). However, no statistically significant difference of VF incidence was found between group I(pretreated with melatonin, 1 mg) and the control group. Conclusion: Employing an anesthetized-cat model of regional cardiac ischemia, we investigated the dose-dependant effects of melatonin on reperfusion-induced arrhythmia. The cats pretreated with 10 mg/kg of melatonin before ischemia had a significantly reduced incidence of lethal reperfusion-induced arrhythmia, but there was no difference between the cats pretreated with 1 mg/kg of melatonin before ischemia and the control group.

This paper describes the practical implementation of switched reluctance motor drive for a wide range of operation speeds. Turn-on/off angle of phase switches and magnitude of current depend upon the speed and load variations. The angle controller is designed with one-chip microprocessor 8051 for various real time applications. Turn-on/off angle is controlled by timer/counter mode 2 of 8051. Position sensor for SRM drive consists of the rotor shaped slot-disc and opto-interrupter. Algorithm to control the speed of SRM with rotor type position sensor and to maintain the speed under the changed load is proposed. Experiments are executed to verify the proposed algorithm.

The direction of the typeface of children's hospital helping the development of hospital's image and the propagation of patient's emotion, having good feeling of hospital is as follow; (1) In a children's hospital, there is almost no case having perpendicular writing or mixing Korean and chinese character. A combination letter type is the letter having both varity and uniformity in terms of moulding. The typeface having combination type is proper as the combination letter type is building in the cost with 1/8 degree compared to the complete letter type. (2) When considering typeface for a children's hospital, the simple letter type has good impression which is more distinguishable compared to Ming type. (3) The association of letters and such objects as animals, flowers, insects, birds and so on in the familiar style for children makes the image of hospital distinguishable. Even this case, the simple style make distinguishable and help good feeling for children compared to the detailed description. (4) Children like solid color and can make the distinction of color more distinguishable than light and darkness.

Input shaping is widely accepted to be a useful tool for removing residual vibration in cranes. The UMZV(unity magnitude zero vibration) input shaper is often employed for cranes driven by on-off type motors. However, the UMZV input shaper makes the cranes move slightly further than expected from the original command while it can remove the residual vibration out of the cranes. This paper deals with a method of input shaping scheme which can compensate the position inaccuracy as well as remove the residual vibration of cranes. The proposed method is illustrated through a numerical simulation.
