        Design and theoretical analysis of a sliding valve distribution radial piston pump

        A Sliding valve distribution radial piston pump (SVDRPP) is presented. In this pump, a new distribution method that uses slidingvalves to distribute oil for the piston chambers is developed. With this design, the disadvantages brought by the distribution shaft and thecheck valves (traditional distribution mechanisms), such as the poor stress state of the shaft and the energy waste for opening the checkvalves, are expected to be eliminated. In addition, a method of using pressure oil to accomplish the returning stroke of the piston is alsoproposed, which could be used to replace the usage of springs along with their shortcomings. A pump with five pistons is designed as anexample to elaborate the structure and the working principle of SVDRPP. Furthermore, the flow characteristics of SVDRPP are studied,and the formulas of the displacement, the average flow rate and the instantaneous flow rate are deduced.

        Analysis of decimation techniques to improve computational efficiency of a frequency-domain evaluation approach for real-time hybrid simulation

        Accurate actuator tracking is critical to achieve reliable real-time hybrid simulation results for earthquake engineering research. The frequency-domain evaluation approach provides an innovative way for more quantitative post-simulation evaluation of actuator tracking errors compared with existing time domain based techniques. Utilizing the Fast Fourier Transform the approach analyzes the actuator error in terms of amplitude and phrase errors. Existing application of the approach requires using the complete length of the experimental data. To improve the computational efficiency, two techniques including data decimation and frequency decimation are analyzed to reduce the amount of data involved in the frequency-domain evaluation. The presented study aims to enhance the computational efficiency of the approach in order to utilize it for future on-line actuator tracking evaluation. Both computational simulation and laboratory experimental results are analyzed and recommendations on the two decimation factors are provided based on the findings from this study.

In order to deeply study Xi Jinping Thought on Culture, we must correctly understand the theoretical source, historical vein and realistic foundation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture. As far as the source of its theory is concerned, Xi Jinping Thought on Culture takes Marxist cultural theory as the “soul”, Chinese excellent traditional culture as the “root”, and the excellent achievements of human civilization as the mirror. In terms of its historical vein, Xi Jinping Thought on Culture comes down in a continuous line from the CPC’s cultural thought in the period of the new-democratic revolution, inherits and develops the CPC’s cultural thought in the period of socialist revolution and construction, continues to extend the CPC’s cultural thought in the new period of reform, opening up, and socialist modernization, and succinctly sublimates the CPC’s cultural thought since the new era. As far as the basis of its reality is concerned, the formation of Xi Jinping Thought on Culture is inseparable from the significant improvement of the comprehensive quality of Chinese people, the continuous improvement of social civilization and the steady growth of national cultural soft power.

        Ultrasound-assisted extraction of resveratrol from grape leaves and its purification on mesoporous carbon

        Resveratrol has been extracted from grape leaves by ultrasound-assisted extraction with aqueous ethanol and further concentrated on a column of mesoporous carbon. The ethanol concentration, extraction temperature, solid/ liquid ratio, and extraction time have been investigated, and the extraction kinetics has been studied. After one treatment run with mesoporous carbon, the resveratrol purity was improved from 2.1 to 20.6%. The antioxidant activities of grape leaf extracts before and after concentration have been analyzed. Mesoporous carbon has been applied in the purification of resveratrol from grape leaves for the first time, and it is shown to offer a promising procedure in this field. Grape leaf is a promising material for the extraction of resveratrol, which shows antioxidant properties.

      • An Intrusion Prevention Technology Based on Dynamic Random Password Authentication in Wireless Sensor Networks

        Security is an important problem in wireless sensor networks. Intrusion detection system is one of the most common methods of network security, for which more and more people have shown solicitude. In this paper, a dynamic random password authentication (DRPA) method is proposed for the identity authentication of communication nodes, which can detect and prevent malicious behavior at each stage of the network operation. This paper introduces the method of automatic generation of random passwords. When a user wants to communicate, the password will be verified to confirm whether it is a normal user or a malicious user. The password’s generation and verification process is very suitable for wireless sensor networks. By using NS2, the simulation experiments are carried out and the results show that this method is superior to the other methods.

        Glia maturation factor beta deficiency protects against diabetic osteoporosis by suppressing osteoclast hyperactivity

        Excessive osteoclast activation, which depends on dramatic changes in actin dynamics, causes osteoporosis (OP). The molecular mechanism of osteoclast activation in OP related to type 1 diabetes (T1D) remains unclear. Glia maturation factor beta (GMFB) is considered a growth and differentiation factor for both glia and neurons. Here, we demonstrated that Gmfb deficiency effectively ameliorated the phenotype of T1D-OP in rats by inhibiting osteoclast hyperactivity. In vitro assays showed that GMFB participated in osteoclast activation rather than proliferation. Gmfb deficiency did not affect osteoclast sealing zone (SZ) formation but effectively decreased the SZ area by decreasing actin depolymerization. When GMFB was overexpressed in Gmfb-deficient osteoclasts, the size of the SZ area was enlarged in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, decreased actin depolymerization led to a decrease in nuclear G-actin, which activated MKL1/SRF-dependent gene transcription. We found that pro-osteoclastogenic factors (Mmp9 and Mmp14) were downregulated, while anti-osteoclastogenic factors (Cftr and Fhl2) were upregulated in Gmfb KO osteoclasts. A GMFB inhibitor, DS-30, targeting the binding site of GMFB and Arp2/3, was obtained. Biocore analysis revealed a high affinity between DS-30 and GMFB in a dose-dependent manner. As expected, DS-30 strongly suppressed osteoclast hyperactivity in vivo and in vitro. In conclusion, our work identified a new therapeutic strategy for T1D-OP treatment. The discovery of GMFB inhibitors will contribute to translational research on T1D-OP.
