        China’s Immigrant Integration Policy: International Migration Context, Main Contents, Issues, and Future Development

        Since its reform and opening up in 1978, especially after the entry into the World Trade Organization in 2001, China has gradually emphasized issues relating to foreigners and implemented policies and laws related to immigrant integration, mainly including macroscopic planning and microscopic steps to create a suitable environment for foreigners. The issues of China’s immigrant integration policy stem mainly from the insufficient emphasis on immigrant integration issues and the legislation necessary to accomplish integration. Improvements are needed in laws relating to immigrant integration to create a friendlier environment for all foreigners and, where appropriate, to lift limitations on employment, permanent residence, and naturalization for foreigners.

        Integrating magnetized bentonite and pinecone-like BiOBr/BiOI Step-scheme heterojunctions as novel recyclable photocatalyst for efficient antibiotic degradation

        Utilizing the cost-effective natural clay and surface heterojunction engineering to synergistically constructan efficient heterojunction system and promote the separation of photogenerated charges is anappealing strategy for achieving superior photocatalytic activity. In this study, BiOBr/BiOI step-scheme(S-scheme) heterojunction in-suit grown on magnetized bentonite (MBT) was first engineered via facileand mild coprecipitation coupling microwave solvothermal process. The optimized magnetic bentonite/BiOBr/BiOI (MBT25/BiOBr/BiOI, the mass ratio of MBT to BiOBr/BiOI was 25%) attained the largest reactionrate constant (k = 0.021 min1) in tetracycline (TC) photocatalytic degradation within 80 min visible-lightirradiation. In addition, the reaction rate constant k of MBT25/BiOBr/BiOI for TC degradation was 10.51folds higher than that of pristine BiOI. Significantly, the characterization results demonstrated thatMBT effectively assisted the pinecone-like morphology formation of BiOBr/BiOI and endowed the wonderfulmagnetic-separation ability for MBT25/BiOBr/BiOI. Additionally, MBT ingeniously introduced atthe interface could couple with S-scheme heterojunction between BiOBr and BiOI to synergistically boostthe separation and transfer of photogenerated charges. As expected, superior photochemical propertiesand efficient production of active species over MBT25/BiOBr/BiOI were confirmed. Notably, recyclingexperiments verified the wonderful photocatalytic stability and high recovery efficiency of MBT25/BiOBr/BiOI. Furthermore, the abundant O2and OH active species led to hydroxylation, dealkylation,deamidation and ring opening of TC molecules. A synergistically enhanced mechanism over S-schemeMBT25/BiOBr/BiOI was clarified based on band structure calculations. This study offers an innovative perspectiveto design multifunctional photocatalysts with superior activity by integrating properties of magnetizedclay and S-scheme heterojunction.

        MiR-29a and MiR-140 Protect Chondrocytes against the Anti-Proliferation and Cell Matrix Signaling Changes by IL-1beta

        As a degenerative joint disease, osteoarthritis (OA) constitutes a major cause of disability that seriously af-fects the quality of life of a large population of people worldwide. However, effective treatment that can successfully reverse OA progression is lacking until now. The present study aimed to determine whether two small non-coding RNAs miR-29a and miR-140, which are significantly down-regulated in OA, can be applied together as potential therapeutic targets for OA treatment. MiRNA synergy score was used to screen the miRNA pairs that potentially synergistically regulate OA. An in vitro model of OA was established by treating murine chondrocytes with IL-1. Transfection of miR-29a and miR-140 via plasmids was investigated on chondrocyte proliferation and expression of nine genes such as ADAMTS4, ADAMTS5, ACAN, COL2A1, COL10A1, MMP1, MMP3, MMP13 and TIMP metallopeptidase inhibitor 1 (TIMP1). Western blotting was used to determine the protein expression level of MMP13 and TIMP1, and ELISA was used to detect the content of type II collagen. Combined use of miR-29a and miR-140 successfully reversed the destructive effect of IL-1 on chondrocyte proliferation, and notably affected the MMP13 and TIMP1 gene expression that regulates extracellular matrix. Although co-transfection of miR-29a and miR-140 did not show a synergistic effect on MMP13 protein expression and type II collagen release, but both of them can significantly suppress the protein abun-dance of MMP13 and restore the type II collagen release in IL-1 treated chondrocytes. Compared with single miRNA transfection, co-transfection of both miRNAs exceedingly abrogated the suppressed the protein production of TIMP1 caused by IL-1, thereby suggesting potent synergistic action. These results provided novel insights into the important function of miRNAs' collaboration in OA pathological development. The reduced MMP13, and enhanced TIMP1 protein production and type II collagen release also implies that miR-29a and miR-140 combination treatment may be a possible treatment for OA.

        The COVID-19 pandemic is not only the most extensive to afflict humanity in the world in a century, but is a major public health emergency, has spread faster and wider than any other in China since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, and has proven to be the most difficult to contain. Through painstaking efforts and tremendous sacrifice, China has succeeded in turning the situation of COVID-19 pandemic around. The COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control is being conducted on an ongoing basis. Migration administration emergency response plays an irreplaceable role on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, especially inbound cases. Due to the world’s most population and second largest economy, Chinese migration administration emergency response significantly impact world’s fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic and people cross border movement. Rich experiences including the improvement of migration administration emergency response system have been accumulated to ensure success of fighting. Meanwhile, it inspires us to rethink about the value of life, the role of migration administration emergency response, the importance of migrant right protection.

        Coprinus Comatus-Based Nitrogen-Doped Active Carbon for High Performance Supercapacitor

        Coprinus comatus-based nitrogen-doped activated carbon (N-ACC) is prepared by chemical activation and nitrogen-doped methods. The N-ACC possesses large specific surface areas (976.96m2 g -1), high nitrogen contents (11.53 wt.%), and super hydrophilicity. As electrode material for supercapacitors, the N-ACC shows remarkable electrochemical performance, such as 346 F g -1 maximum specific capacitance at a current density of 1A g -1, which retains 260 F g -1 even at a high current density of 10 A g -1 (about 75% capacitance retention) in 2MKOH aqueous electrolyte. The assembled N-ACC//N-ACC symmetric supercapacitor exhibits energy density of 14.63 Wh kg -1 at power density of 810 W kg -1, and excellent cycling stability with 92% specific capacitance retention after 10000 cycles in the voltage range 0–1.8V in 0.5M Na2SO4 aqueous solution. These results indicate that the N-ACC as electrode materials can be used for high performance supercapacitors.

        A novel multi-objective tuning strategy for model predictive control in trajectory tracking

        Accuracy and efficiency are two important performances of model predictive control in trajectory tracking and they are seriously affected by the control parameters of model predictive control. To make the model predictive control with high accuracy and efficiency simultaneous, the paper proposed a strategy to tune the control parameters for model predictive control. The proposed strategy converts the tuning problem to a multi-objective optimization problem and employs non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) to solve it. The proposed strategy is employed to tune the control parameters for a classical model predictive control in a typical trajectory tracking condition. The simulation results show that the comprehensive performances of model predictive controller tuned by the proposed method are better than other tuning methods. The proposed tuning strategy is validated and it can be applied to tune the control parameters for model predictive control in trajectory tracking.

      • Analysis on Self-breakdown Statistics Properties for a Spark Switch

        According to the working characteristics of over-voltage protective device for series compensation, the principle and structure of spark switch were introduced in this paper briefly. Special test loop and HV fast switch-off device were designed to evaluate the performance of spark swich in trials. Test data and mathematic statistic results revealed that the self-breakdown probability of spark switch obeyed the normal distribution and the cumulative distribution of spark switch self-breakdown had been less affected by different enviroment temperature. The number of trials was restricted to the characteristics of insulated gas and the electrode surface state in the practical application. Reasonable choice of test number can keep estimation error at a relatively low level, particularly for parameter estimation by using small sample of self-breakdown voltage. The conclusion is instructive to the development and engineering application of spark switch for over-voltage protective equipment of series compensation.

      • Discussion and Design of Dynamic Liquid Level Intelligent Monitoring System

        The problem of how to calculate the height of the liquid level under tilting status is considered. A custom algorithm for obtaining the real height of liquid level according to the difference of distance measured by ultrasonic sensors is proposed. A set of intelligent monitoring system is designed as well. The system, which takes S3C6410 processor as the control core of the front-end system, measures distance by multiple HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensors, compensates temperature via external temperature sensor ds1820, collects data via inserting driver modules, and then gets the liquid level angle by means of the difference between distance, to calculate the liquid level height, both of which will be sent via Bluetooth chip CC2541 and wireless network. The data, received by PC, will be used for graphical interface display and speech broadcasting depending on Processing software programming. The smart phone can also read data and control devices from the front-end. The results of simulation experiment of this system are considered.
