As the increasing needs in the industrial filed, many studies for the 3D CAD system are carried out. There are two types of 3D CAD system. One is manifold modeler, the other is non-manifold modeler. In the manifold modeler only 3D objects can be modeled. In the non-manifold modeler 3D, 2D, ID, and 0D objects can be modeled in a unified data structure. Recently there are many studies on the non-manifold modeler. Most of them are focused on finding unknown topological entities and representing all kinds of topological entities found. In this paper, efficient data structure is selected. The boundary information on a face and an edge is included in this data structure. The boundary information on a vertex is excluded considering the frequency of usage. Because the disk cycle information is not required in most case of modeling. It is compact. It stores essential non-manifold information such as loop cycle and radial cycle. A suitable Euler-Poincare equation is studied and selected. Using the efficient data structure and the selected Euler-Poincare equation, 18 basic Euler operators are implemented. Several 3D models arc created using the implemented modeler. A non-manifold modeling can be carried out using the implemented 3D CAD system. The results of this paper could be used in the further studies such as an implementation of Boolean operators, and a translation of 2D CAD drawings to 3D models.
서사담론의 시제 연구 : 제라르 주네트(Ge´rard Genette)의 시제 이론을 중심으로

This paper discusses the tense in the novel as a general theory. It is natural that there is disagreement between the time in a novel text and real time out of text. It was caused by the intrinsic limit of novel as an "art based on tempo ", and by novel's teleological property of discourse. So when we discuss 'time in a novel',, it is not related to real time, but to the ways or customs of beat it. In this paper, that is to say ,'tense' is calling for the ways or customs of treat time in a novel. Jenette's theory is representative one about the tense in novel up to now. But his theory is too complicate to apply, and it has a weak point that the standard which subdivide and classify is unfixed. So this study is designed to reconstruct the theory of Jenette. For the reconstruction, this paper set up fixed standard as the time of narrating and then I simply edited Jenette's theory. The alternative plan for explaining the tense in a novel of this paper was suggested not for denying or disusing but for accepting most of his concepts. So, the outcome of this paper would have it's value just as it is included in the Jenette's theory and is able to correct it. Therefore this paper has focused on the growing or developmental sequel of Jenette's theory. The tenn 'reconstruction' in this paper was based on these reason.

An experimental investigation was conducted to study the effect of surface roughness on condensation heat transfer characteristics of horizontal circular tube varying the roughness configurations. Eight pin-type finned-tubes were tested using the steam as a condensing substance. Sharp fin-shaped tube shows higher overall heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer rate and tube outside heat transfer coefficient based on the outer surface area of the smooth tube than the blunt one. In addition, the lower the fin height, and the wider the fin pitch, the higher the overall heat transfer coefficient, heat transfer rate and the tube outside-heat transfer coefficient. Globally varying the fin shape and fin pitch showed larger influence on the condensation heat transfer characteristics than the fin height variation.

Part of SB latex in pre-coating color was substituted with newly developed starch-based bio-binder in order to investigate the effect of starch-based bio-binder in pre-coating color on the properties of coating color and coated paper. Smoothness and gloss of coated paper were decreased with the increase of bio-binder substitution ratio. Brightness and whiteness did not show the significant changes, but stiffness was improved with bio-binder. Ink set-off, dry-pick and wet pick were decreased with the increase of bio-binder substitution ratio. In general, when all SB latex is substituted with bio-binder, ink set-off, dryand wet-pick were deteriorated. However, it was found that if the bio-binder substitution ratio is controlled below 50%, similar qualities with coated paper manufactured by the use of SB latex binder can be obtained.

<P><B>Purpose</B></P><P>Radiation-induced autophagy has been shown to play two different roles, in malignant glioma (MG) cells, cytocidal or cytoprotective. However, neither the role of radiation-induced autophagy for cell death nor the existence of autophagy-induced apoptosis, a well-known cell-death pathway after irradiation, has been verified yet.</P><P><B>Materials and Methods</B></P><P>We observed both temporal and dose-dependent response patterns of autophagy and apoptosis to radiation in MG cell lines. Additionally, we investigated the role of autophagy in apoptosis through knockdown of autophagy-related proteins.</P><P><B>Results</B></P><P>Autophagic activity measured by staining of acidic vesicle organelles and Western blotting of LC-3 protein increased in proportion to radiation dose from day 1 to 5 after irradiation. Apoptosis measured by annexin-V staining and Western blotting of cleaved poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase demonstrated relatively late appearance 3 days after irradiation that increased for up to 7 days. Blocking of pan-caspase (Z-VAD-FMK) did not affect apoptosis after irradiation, but silencing of Atg5 effectively reduced radiation-induced autophagy, which decreased apoptosis significantly. Inhibition of autophagy in Atg5 knockdown cells was shown to be beneficial for cell survival. Stable transfection of GFP-LC3 cells was observed after irradiation. Annexin-V was localized in cells bearing GFP-LC3 punctuated spots, indicating autophagy in immunofluorescence. Some of these punctuated GFP-LC3 bearing cells formed conglomerated spots and died in final phase.</P><P><B>Conclusion</B></P><P>These findings suggest that autophagy appears earlier than apoptosis after irradiation and that a portion of the apoptotic population that appears later is autophagy-dependent. Thus, autophagy is a pathway to cell death after irradiation of MG cells.</P>
Exchange of CAD Part Models Based on the Macro-Parametric Approach

It is not possible to exchange parametric information of CAD models based on the current version of STEP. The design intent can be lost during the STEP transfer of CAD models. The Parametrics Group of ISO/TC184/SC4 has proposed the SMCH schema, which includes constructs for exchange of parametric information. This paper proposes a macro-parametric approach that is intended to provide capabilities to transfer parametric information including design intents. In this approach, CAD models are exchanged in the form of macro files. The macro file contains the history of user commands, which are used in the modeling phase. To exchange CAD models using the macro-parametric approach, the modeling commands of several commercial CAD systems are analyzed. Those commands are classified and a set of standard modeling commands has been defined. Mapping relations between the standard modeling commands and the native modeling commands of commercial CAD systems are defined. The scope of the current version is limited to parts modeling, not assemblies.
