      • A Robust Audio Retrieval Method

        Guibin Zheng,Jiqing Han 한국어정보학회 2006 한국어정보학 Vol.8 No.1

This paper presents a robust audio retrieval method. In the method, the retrieval target is divided into short segments, each segment is searched respectively, and a retrieval window is used to maintain a list of segments that can be searched simultaneously. The method can quickly detect and locate known sound in real‐time audio stream, multimedia archives or the Internet. It can maintain high performance even if large part of target is absent in the input stream. Its retrieval speed can be adjusted by the length of retrieval window and is independent on target length. The recall rate and precision rate of the method are 100% and 99.7% respectively.

Exploring lncRNA Expression Patterns in Patients With Hypertrophied Ligamentum Flavum

        Junling Chen,Guibin Zhong,Manle Qiu,Wei Ke,Jingsong Xue,Jianwei Chen 대한척추신경외과학회 2024 Neurospine Vol.21 No.1

Objective: Hypertrophy ligamentum flavum (LFH) is a common cause of lumbar spinal stenosis, resulting in significant disability and morbidity. Although long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been associated with various biological processes and disorders, their involvement in LFH remains not fully understood. Methods: Human ligamentum flavum samples were analyzed using lncRNA sequencing followed by validation through quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. To explore the potential biological functions of differentially expressed lncRNA-associated genes, Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analyses were performed. We also studied the impact of lncRNA PARD3-AS1 on the progression of LFH <i>in vitro</i>.Results: In the LFH tissues when compared to that in the nonhypertrophic ligamentum flavum (LFN) tissues, a total of 1,091 lncRNAs exhibited differential expression, with 645 upregulated and 446 downregulated. Based on GO analysis, the differentially expressed transcripts primarily participated in metabolic processes, organelles, nuclear lumen, cytoplasm, protein binding, nucleic acid binding, and transcription factor activity. Moreover, KEGG pathway analysis indicated that the differentially expressed lncRNAs were associated with the hippo signaling pathway, nucleotide excision repair, and nuclear factor-kappa B signaling pathway. The expression of PARD3-AS1, RP11-430G17.3, RP1-193H18.3, and H19 was confirmed to be consistent with the sequencing analysis. Inhibition of PARD3-AS1 resulted in the suppression of fibrosis in LFH cells, whereas the overexpression of PARD3-AS1 promoted fibrosis in LFH cells <i>in vitro</i>.Conclusion: This study identified distinct expression patterns of lncRNAs that are linked to LFH, providing insights into its underlying mechanisms and potential prognostic and therapeutic interventions. Notably, PARD3-AS1 appears to play a significant role in the pathophysiology of LFH.

Collection and evaluation of thirty‑seven pomegranate germplasm resources

Yingshu Peng,Guibin Wang,Fuliang Cao,Fang‑Fang Fu 한국응용생명화학회 2020 Applied Biological Chemistry (Appl Biol Chem) Vol.63 No.2

Pomegranates (Punica granatum L.) are gaining popularity among consumers because of their high antioxidant activity and multiple medical benefits. China is rich in pomegranate genetic resources, but how to use them effectively is a problem worthy of deep consideration. In this article, thirty-seven pomegranate varieties from seven provinces in China were collected and analyzed for twelve phenotypic traits and twelve biochemical indicators (seeds and juices). The fruit and aril fresh weight ranged between 210.5 and 576.5 g and 121.0 to 327.5 g, respectively, and the edible rate (42.58–64.80%), seed weight (1.80–3.41 g), seed number (249.1–838.9), fruit height (10.51–15.48 mm), fruit diameter (11.46–17.50 mm), skin thickness (2.14–6.98 mm), and shape index (0.82–0.96) varied among the different genotypes. The pomegranate juice total phenolic content ranged from 40.91 to 132.47 μg/mL, and the total flavonoid content (14.08–137.72 μg/mL), vitamin C content (12.80–66.63 μg/mL), pH (3.10–4.34), total soluble solids (13.13– 17.50°Brix), and titratable acidity (0.26–2.71%) also varied; the pomegranate seed total phenolic content ranged from 0.62 to 1.78 mg/g, and the total flavonoid content (0.39–0.99 mg/g), vitamin C content (7.55–13.90 mg/g), DPPH radical scavenging capacity (85.98–98.24%), and ABTS scavenging ability (28.72–51%) were also measured. The coefficients of variation of the studied traits ranged from 5.62 to 54.02%, and the phenotypic traits’ Shannon–Weaver diversity indexes ranged from 0.67 to 1.53. Cluster analysis divided the 37 varieties into three categories, providing a reference for improved variety breeding. In addition, genotypic and environmental effects mainly affected the pomegranate flavor and antioxidant activity, respectively.

      • Speaker Recognition via Block Sparse Bayesian Learning

        Wei Wang,Jiqing Han,Tieran Zheng,Guibin Zheng,Mingguang Shao 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Multimedia and Ubiquitous Vol.10 No.7

In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of sparse representation techniques for speaker recognition, a dictionary of feature vectors belonging to all speakers is constructed by total variability i-vectors. Each feature vector from unknown utterance is expressed as linear weighted sum of a dictionary. The weights are calculated using Block Sparse Bayesian Learning (BSBL) where the sparsest solution can be obtained. By exploiting the speech signal’s block structure and intra-block correlation, the system performance is improved. The experimental results validate that our method outperforms the baseline systems and the system using Orthogonal Matching Pursuit (OMP) algorithm on the typical corpus and realizes the identity validation function.

Mechanical Behaviors and Fracture Characteristics of Sandstone Combinations with Different Pre-crack Angles

        Xizhen Sun,Wei Li,Ce Zhang,Guibin Zhang,Zhiguo Xia 대한토목학회 2023 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.27 No.12

Layered rock masses contain many pre-existing defects, and investigating their failure mechanism is crucial for controlling layered rock mass instability. In order to understand the layered rock fracture mechanism, this study develops sandstone combination models containing cracks of different angles using the Particle Flow Code software (PFC2D) to conduct the uniaxial loading tests. In addition, it analyzes the mechanical properties and fracture characteristics of the models. The pre-crack angles and the composite materials determine the mechanical properties and crack propagation of the sandstone combination (SC) models. The results indicated that the peak stress and elastic modulus of the SC models increase as the pre-crack angle rises. The force chain concentration and the crack initiation location change with the different pre-crack angles, and the initiation stress improves gradually. The entire acoustic emission (AE) process is divided into three phases per axial stress and AE event number. The AE active level significantly correlates with the pre-crack angle change. The “V” type trend is shown in the crack number distribution, and the tensile crack is the predominant mode with some shear cracks. The micro-crack concentration and macroscopic damage zones are more prevalent in the low-strength parts, and the pre-crack angles define the influence weight of the pre-crack angle and the composite material strength.

      • Research on the Protection Scheme of DG Interconnection Transition Mode Based on Decoupling Zero Sequence

Xia Lin,Yuping Lu,Yao Li,Guibin Zou 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Grid and Distributed Comp Vol.9 No.8

More and more DG is connected with the grid through the low voltage distribution network, how to choose a protection scheme without depending on the nature of DG, and with reliable operation mode is a big issue encountered by the engineers. The rationally allocating the protection scheme of grid connection coupling point, which not only can judge the system fault in time, and judge it in DG island, and can still remain the protection features in the dynamic process of the island formation and in the operation mode of dividing island, can always have enough selectivity of the island fault is the problem to solve in this study. Through the selection of the grounding methods of DG grid connection transformer, the relationship between zero sequence current and zero sequence voltage is analyzed; the optimization of the protection scheme can inhibit DG interconnection and zero sequence over-voltage in network running-off, and quantity of zero sequence can be used as a stable criterion when the fault occurs, so as to work out a set of protection optimization schemes for DG interconnection transformer grounding system. Finally, through the COBASE system, a protection scheme of the wind power plant low-voltage grid is generated in this study, which verifies its excellent protection features in the DG connected to the grid system.

Influence of Lubricant on the Properties of Poly(ether ether ketone) and Poly(ether ether ketone)/Carbon Fiber Composites

        Shuling Zhang,Jianxin Mu,Dianfu Ren,Fugui Zhou,Zhenhua Jiang,Zhongwen Wu,Guibin Wang 한국고분자학회 2010 Macromolecular Research Vol.18 No.12

An improvement in the processability of poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) and PEEK/carbon fiber (PEEK/CF) composites with less influence on the other properties is important. A novel high temperature lubricant, GENIOPLAST PELLETS (GPPS), was used to decrease the melt viscosity of PEEK and PEEK/CF composites. PEEK/GPPS and PEEK/CF/GPPS compounds were characterized by dynamic rheometry, universal tester, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The results showed that a small amount of GPPS could decrease the melt viscosity of the compounds during processing, and improve the dispersion uniformity of the carbon fiber in the PEEK matrix, and further enhance the tensile strength of PEEK/CF composites, but have little effect the thermal stability of the compounds.

Preparation and Characterization of a Novel Hyperbranched Poly(aryl ether ketone) Terminated with Cobalt Phthalocyanine to be Used for Oxidative Decomposition of 2,4,6-Trichlorophenol

        Lei Lei,Yunhe Zhang,Xiujie Li,Jianxin Mu,Guibin Wang,Zhenhua Jiang,Shuling Zhang 한국고분자학회 2010 Macromolecular Research Vol.18 No.4

A novel hyperbranched poly(aryl ether ketone) terminated with cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc-T-HPAEK)was prepared using 1,3,5-tris[4-(4-fluorobenzoyl) phenoxy] benzene (B3), as a ‘core’ molecule, 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene)diphenol (6F-BPA) as an A2 monomer, and cobalt phthalocyanine as an end-capping reagent. CoPc-THPAEK showed good solubility, thermal stability and catalytic activity in the oxidative decomposition of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP) under H2O2 or KHSO5. Moreover, the oxidative effect of KHSO5 was superior to that of H2O2,and the catalytic activity of CoPc-T-HPAEK was much higher than that of linear poly(aryl ether ketone) terminated with cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc-T-LPAEK) and linear poly(aryl ether ketone) with a cobalt phthalocyanine pendant unit (CoPc-S-LPAEK).

Preparation and Characterization of Hyperbranched Poly(ether ether ketone)s Suitable as Rheology Control Agents for Linear Poly(ether ether ketone)s

        Zhenhua Jiang,Xiujie Li,Shuling Zhang,Fugui Zhou,Jinhui Pang,Chunfeng Zhang,Dong Sun,Jianxin Mu,Guibin Wang 한국고분자학회 2011 Macromolecular Research Vol.19 No.5

Hyperbranched poly(ether ether ketone)s (HPEEKs) that were suitable as rheology control agents for linear poly(ether ether ketone)s (LPEEKs) were first prepared via commercially available hydroquinone (A2 monomer,HQ) and synthesized 3,4',5-trifluoro-benzophenone (BB'2 monomer, TF) effortlessly. The polymerization mode of A2 + BB'2 was demonstrated by MS. Moreover, FTIR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and 19F NMR spectroscopy revealed the structure and degree of branching (DB) of the resulting polymers. In comparison with A2 + B3 approach, HPEEK prepared using an A2 + BB'2 strategy possessed a higher molecular weight, and improved the melt processability of LPEEK. Remarkably, with the addition of HPEEK, the mechanical properties of LPEEK increased with a HPEEK content of 5%. The improved mechanical properties were attributed to the good miscibility. Moreover, the addition of HPEEK did not decrease the thermal stability of LPEEK.
