        Zero Steady-state Error Tracking Control for Ball and Plate System Based on Principle of Internal Model

        In order to improve trajectory tracking accuracy and disturbance-rejection performance of the ball and plate system, a zero steady-state error tracking control strategy based on the principle of internal mode was proposed, and the backstepping controller with a low-pass filter was designed to suppress the system’s internal disturbance. Firstly, a linear model of the ball and plate system is established and the common instability model for reference input and disturbance signals is derived. Secondly, the zero steady-state error tracking control strategy composed of three controllers which have respective function is proposed. Thirdly, the solving procedure of each controller is given and the stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed by Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, simulation results show the presented control scheme has better dynamic performance and disturbance rejection ability, compared with other methods including H∞control, sliding mode control, and LQR control.

        Isoindolin-1-ones from the stems of Nicotiana tabacum and their antiviral activities

        In previous studies, several isoindolin-1-oneanalogs that exhibited signifi cant anti-tobacco mosaic virus(anti-TMV) activities were isolated from Nicotiana tabacum . Since gene-editing mutants provide a new sample for thediscovery of active metabolites, we focused on the stems ofYN-18–23 (a mutant N. tabacum for gene editing with thealkaloid metabolic pathway cultivated by Yunnan TobaccoCompany), which led to the isolation of four new ( 1–4 )and four known ( 5–8 ) isoindolin-1-ones. To the best of ourknowledge, nicindole C ( 3 ) is the fi rst subclass of isoindolin-1-one bearing a pentacyclic ketone, while nicindole D ( 4 )is the fi rst example of isoindolin-1-one bearing a methylpyridin-2-(1 H )-one moiety. Compounds 1–4 were testedfor their anti-TMV activities, and the results revealed thatcompounds 1 , 3 , and 4 exhibited high anti-TMV activities atconcentrations of 20 μM with inhibition rates of 48.6, 42.8,and 71.5%, respectively. These rates are higher than the inhibitionrate of the positive control (33.2%). The mechanisticstudy of compound 4 , which had the highest anti-TMV activityrevealed that increased potentiation of defense-related enzyme activities and downregulation of expression of theNtHsp70 protein may induce resistance in tobacco againstthe viral pathogen TMV. Molecular docking studies alsorevealed that the isoindolin-1-one substructure is fundamentalfor anti-TMV activity. The methyl-pyridin-2-(1 H )-onemoiety in compound 4 and the 2-oxopropyl groups in compounds1 and 3 at the N -2 position may increase inhibitoryactivities. This study of the structure–activity relationshipis helpful for fi nding new anti-TMV activity inhibitors. Tostudy whether the isoindolin-1-ones have broader antiviralactivities, compounds 1–4 were also tested for their antirotavirusactivities. Compound 4 exhibited high anti-rotavirusactivity with a therapeutic index (TI) value of 20.7. This TI value is close to that of the positive control (20.2).

        Built-in electric field and hydrostatic pressure effects on exciton states in a wurtzite (In,Ga)N/GaN coupled double quantum well

        In this study, the pressure-dependent exciton binding energy and other optical properties (i.e., interband emission energy, emission wavelength, etc.) in a wurtzite (In,Ga)N-GaN coupled double quantum well structures are investigated theoretically under the built-in electric feld. Using a variational approach, numerical calculations are carried out within the efective mass approximation, considering the pressure dependence of efective mass, band-gap energy, and dielectric constants of GaN and InGaN materials. The results reveal that the increasing hydrostatic pressure causes a signifcant blue-shift in the emission wavelength, and a linear increase of the built-in electric feld strength, interband emission energy, and exciton binding energy. In addition, the built-in electric feld strength of middle-barrier layer (left- and right-well layers) increases (decreases) gradually with increasing the well width. The oscillator strength and exciton radiation decay time obviously depends on the hydrostatic pressure. It is hope that the above conclusions are helpful to providing the ideas about the optimization of optical properties of light-emitting devices fabricated GaN-based wurtzite coupled double quantum well.

      • Quasi-Periodic Nanoripples in Graphene Grown by Chemical Vapor Deposition and Its Impact on Charge Transport

        <P>The technical breakthrough in synthesizing graphene by chemical vapor deposition methods (CVD) has opened up enormous opportunities for large-scale device applications. To improve the electrical properties of CVD graphene grown on copper (Cu-CVD graphene), recent efforts have focused on increasing the grain size of such polycrystalline graphene films to 100 μm and larger. While an increase in grain size and, hence, a decrease of grain boundary density is expected to greatly enhance the device performance, here we show that the charge mobility and sheet resistance of Cu-CVD graphene is already limited within a single grain. We find that the current high-temperature growth and wet transfer methods of CVD graphene result in quasi-periodic nanoripple arrays (NRAs). Electron-flexural phonon scattering in such partially suspended graphene devices introduces anisotropic charge transport and sets limits to both the highest possible charge mobility and lowest possible sheet resistance values.       • Resveratrol Inhibits Oesophageal Adenocarcinoma Cell Proliferation via AMP-activated Protein Kinase Signaling

        Resveratrol has been examined in several model systems for potential effects against cancer. Adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) is reported to suppress proliferation in most eukaryocyte cells. Whether resveratrol via AMPK inhibits proliferation of oesophageal adenocarcinoma cells (OAC) is unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the roles of AMPK in the protective effects of resveratrol in OAC proliferation and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms. Treatment of cultured OAC derived from human subjects or cell lines with resveratrol resulted in decreased cell proliferation. Further, inhibition of AMPK by pharmacological reagent or genetical approach abolished resveratrol-suppressed OAC proliferation, reduced the level of $p27^{Kip1}$, a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, and increased the levels of S-phase kinase-associated protein 2 (Skp2) of $p27^{Kip1}$-E3 ubiquitin ligase and 26S proteasome activity reduced by resveratrol. Furthermore, gene silencing of $p27^{Kip1}$ reversed resveratrol-suppressed OAC proliferation. In conclusion, these findings indicate that resveratrol inhibits Skp2-mediated ubiquitylation and 26S proteasome-dependent degradation of $p27^{Kip1}$ via AMPK activation to suppress OAC proliferation.

        가야금 산조의 중국 전파와 전승

        이 논문은 가야금산조의 중국 전파의 경위 및 전승과정과 양상을 밝히려는 목적으로 작성되었다. 중국으로 과경한 이주민 대부분이 빈한한 이재농민이었던 연고로 민요나 농악의 경우와 달리 가야금 산조는 전해지지 않았다. 때문에 가야금 산조의 중국 전파는 해방 후 1957년 연변예술학교의 건교와 더불어 살펴볼 수 있는데, 구체적으로 보면 1959년 2월부터 1960년 2월까지 지만수에 의한 1년 간 중국 초청강의로 이루어졌다. 지만수에 이어 김진은 안기옥류 가야금 산조의 전파와 함께 중국 조선족 사회에 가야금 산조 예술을 확고하게 정착시켰다. 김진에 의해 오늘날 중국조선족은 안기옥류 가야금 산조를 유일하게 전승하고 또 그를 통해 김창조 가야금 산조의 맥을 잇고 있는데, 이는 한민족 범민족적 차원의 음악예술사적 의의가 있다. 그러나 가야금 개량의 성공과 함께 한 중국조선족 가야금 예술 개량음악화와 당시 중국의 변화 다단한 정세의 영향으로 산조는 실존의 운명을 피면했으되 실제로는 지금까지 활발히 연주되지 않고 있다. 중국조선족 가야금 산조 음악은 전공자는 물론 정부와 사회 각 계층의 지지와 배려와 지원, 그리고 지금보다도 더더욱 활발하고 실제적인 국제교류(여러 가지 통로, 수단, 방법)를 통해 부진하고 저조했던 지금까지의 상황을 벗어나 지속적이고 장구한 발전을 거듭해야 할 것이다. This paper aims to investigate the route of dissemination, the process and the pattern of inheritance. Most Korean immigrants to China were poor peasants, and Kayagum San-jo did not get spread unlike folk songs or Nong-ak. Therefore, the dissemination of Kayagum San-jo had begun since the foundation of Yanbian Art School in 1957, which started more specifically from the visiting lecture by JI Man-su during February, 1959 to February, 1960. Followed by JI Man-su, Kayagum San-jo remains anchored in Korean-Chinese culture by KIM Jin along with the spread of AN Ji-ok variety. Under the influence of KIM Jin, Korean-Chinese inherited AN Ji-ok variety of Kayagum San-jo and has been carrying forward the Kayagum San-jo of KIM Chang-jo, which has the significance in the history of Korean folk music. However, due to the reform of Korean-Chinese Kayagum art with the development of instrument, and the constant political changes at that time, San-jo in fact did not get actively performed. The development of Korean-Chinese Kayagum San-jo needs the comprehensive understanding and strong support by the specialist as well as the government and the society. Moreover, the active and practical international communication is needed to get out of the downturn period and strive for the sustainable development.

      • Graphene–Ferroelectric Hybrid Structure for Flexible Transparent Electrodes

        <P>Graphene has exceptional optical, mechanical, and electrical properties, making it an emerging material for novel optoelectronics, photonics, and flexible transparent electrode applications. However, the relatively high sheet resistance of graphene is a major constraint for many of these applications. Here we propose a new approach to achieve low sheet resistance in large-scale CVD monolayer graphene using nonvolatile ferroelectric polymer gating. In this hybrid structure, large-scale graphene is heavily doped up to 3 × 10<SUP>13</SUP> cm<SUP>–2</SUP> by nonvolatile ferroelectric dipoles, yielding a low sheet resistance of 120 Ω/□ at ambient conditions. The graphene–ferroelectric transparent conductors (GFeTCs) exhibit more than 95% transmittance from the visible to the near-infrared range owing to the highly transparent nature of the ferroelectric polymer. Together with its excellent mechanical flexibility, chemical inertness, and the simple fabrication process of ferroelectric polymers, the proposed GFeTCs represent a new route toward large-scale graphene-based transparent electrodes and optoelectronics.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/ancac3/2012/ancac3.2012.6.issue-5/nn3010137/production/images/medium/nn-2012-010137_0008.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/nn3010137'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>

        Standardizing and optimizing acupuncture treatment for irritable bowel syndrome: A Delphi expert consensus study

        Background: Acupuncture has been widely utilized for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). However, heterogeneity is large among therapeutic strategies and protocols. The aim of this study was to propose some down-to-earth recommendations and establish an optimized protocol for acupuncture practice in IBS. Methods: A panel of 74 traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncturists participated in clinical issue investigation. Subsequently, systematic reviews concerning acupuncture for IBS were screened within 3 databases. An initial consensus questionnaire was formed from the results of clinical issue investigation and literature review. Ultimately, a Delphi vote was carried out to determine these issues. 30 authoritative experts with extensive experience were requested to respond with agreement, neutrality, or disagreement for the items. Consensus achievement on a given item was defined as greater than 80% agreement. Results: Following a 2-round Delphi survey, there were 19 items reaching consensus; of which 5 items (26.32%) achieved thorough consensus, and significant agreement was reached for the other 14 items. These items can be classified into the 3 major domains: 1) clinical outcomes that acupuncture can bring for favorable intervention population (5 items), 2) suitable therapeutic principles and parameters of acupuncture (13 items), 3) possible adverse events in the treatment (1 item). Conclusion: Without any ready-made guidelines and lacking of homogeneity in the published literatures, such expert consensus could be valuable for TCM acupuncturists in daily practice and patients with IBS to obtain appropriate and standardized acupuncture treatment. In addition, it also points out the clinical focus which need to be further explored in future trials.

        Multiconsensus of Second Order Multiagent Systems with Directed Topologies

        A novel multiconsensus problem is introduced in multiagent systems. The states of multiple agents in each subnetwork asymptotically converge to a consistent value with information exchanges among subnetworks. The multiconsensus problem of second order multiagent systems with directed topologies is studied. Three linear protocols are proposed to solve the multiconsensus problem. Necessary and sufficient conditions are derived based on matrix theory. Simulations are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.
