        Seven-year old, castrated male pekingese was presented with sudden onset of pain and tetraparesis. He was diagnosed with multiple intervertebral disc disease (lesion: C6-7 [mild], T12-13 [mild], L2-3 [moderate] via MRI in 2006. After undergoing conservative therapy at local hospital, he had more severe symptom in December 2009 than before. In order to identify exact site, he had been taken second MRI and transferred to CNU VMTH. Definitive diagnosis is also multiple intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) with the same lesion except C3-4 (+++). The spinal cord between C3 and C4 is ventrally compressed by intervertebral disc and the compression is much more severe than other lesions. Since the symptoms were severe and took place rapidly and didn't respond to medical treatment, surgical treatment, ventral slot for new lesion(C3-4) was planned. After the ventral compression of spinal cord between C3 and C4 was achieved, he showed enhancement which is gradual return to normal neurologic response, sternal recumbency, and occasional standing. After postoperative treatment at local hospital, he fully recovered to the normal. It was considered that accurate diagnosis timely adequate treatment are essential for the cure of IVDD.

        The conventional types of X-ray generators were bulky in physical size and heavy in weight, and the control accuracies of the output voltages were not always satisfactory. The high frequency switching inverter and converter technology on power conversion and control systems have been greatly closed up introducing power semiconductor devices. In this paper, the newly developed converter to take the balance of the output voltage versus the ground are also presented in detail to decreasing the volume and the weight of high voltage transformer and to stabilize ripple. This converter consists of the two independent L-C series resonant circuits using the two capacitances and the two primary windings of high voltage transformer.

        許蘭雪軒의 漢詩에 드러난 作家意識 硏究

        Hu-nan-seol-hun is a female writer who wrote lots of good Chinese poems in Joseon Dynasty when there were few Chinese female writers. The society of Joseon Dynasty preferred poetry-writing by women. However, it exacted obedience and chastity from women. In this situation, Hu appeared as a forerunner. This study examined distinct characteristics of her poetry. For the purpose, her life was considered. However, there is little record about her. Therefore, this study examined her consciousness about poetry based on her poetry. She was known as a woman who wrote lots of Chinese poems, but only about 210 poems remains that have been kept by her brother, Hu Gyun. The consciousness in her works is classified into four parts: poems about self-esteem, ones about conflict of social structure, ones about family and love, and ones about dreams and ideals based on Taoism. It is believed that she was the best female poet in Joseon Dynasty when her consciousness expressed in her writing was examined.

      • 저압 MOCVD법에 의한 (100)-GaAs 기판 위의 Ga_xIn(1-x)P 성장과 특성

        x??0.51인 Ga_xIn_(1-x)P 에피층을 저압 MOCVD 성장법으로 TEGa(triethylgallium), TMIn(trimethylindium) 등의 MO(metalorganic) 원료와 PH_3(phosphine)를 사용하여 GaAs(100) 기판 위에 성장하였다. 성장조건에 의한 표면 morphology, 결정결함, 성분비, PL spectra, 운반자 농도와 이동도 및 DLTS spectra와 같은 성장층의 특성을 관찰하였다. 650℃의 성장온도와 V/Ⅲ 비, 즉 TEGa와 TMIn 두 원료의 유량에 대한 PH_3의 유량비가 160∼220일 때 가장 좋은 성장표면을 나타내었다. 성장률은 PH_3의 유량변화에 아무런 영향을 받지 않음을 알 수 있었다. Ga_0.51In_0.49P 에피층과 기판의 격자상수 차에 의한 격자 부정합 Δa_⊥/a_0은 약 (3.7∼8.9)×10 exp (-4)이었으며 실온과 5K에서 에피층의 PL 피크 에너지는 각각 1.85 eV와 1.9 eV였다. 성장층의 운반자 농도와 이동도는 V/Ⅲ 비에 따라 달라지는데 그 비가 120에서 220으로 증가함에 따라 농도는 1.8×10 exp (16) ㎝^-3에서 8.2×10 exp (16) ㎝^-3로 증가하였고 이동도는 1010 ㎝/V·sec에서 366 ㎝/V·sec로 감소하였다. Epitaxial layers of Ga_xIn_(1-x)P with x??0.51 were grown on the GaAs substrates oriented 2℃ off (100) toward <110> by low pressure MOCVD growth technique using triethylgallium (TEGa), trimethylindium (TMIn) and phosphine (PH_3). Surface morphology, crystal defects, composition, photoluminescence spectra, carrier concentration and DLTS spectra of the grown layers were investigated. Good quality epilayers with featureless surface were obtained at growth temperature of 650℃ and V/Ⅲ ratio, i.e., PH_3 flow rate divided by the sum of TEGa and TMIn flow rates, of 160 to 220. The growth rate turned out to have no dependence on phosphine flow rate. The lattice mismatchs Δa_⊥/a_0 between grown Ga_0.51In_0.49P epilayer and GaAs substrate were (3.7∼8.9)×10 exp (-4) and the PL peak energies of the epitaxial layer at room temperature and 5K were 1.85 eV and 1.9 eV, respectively. With increasing V/Ⅲ ratio i.e., phosphine flow rate, from 120 to 220, the carrier density and mobility of undoped epitaxial layers increased from 1.8×10 exp (16) to 8.2×10 exp (16) ㎝^-3 and decreased from 1010 to 366 ㎝/V·sec, respectively.

        This study for the improvement of the working conditions of Radiological Technologicts is based on a qauestionaire reciered from 118 Radiological Technologists who are employed in medical institutions in the Kwangju and Chun-nam areas It was conducted between November 1989 March 1990. The conclusion of this study is as follows. 1. The average daily working time is almost 10 hours. (in 96.1 % of General Hospitals, 100% of Hospitals, 90.4% of Clinics) 2. Concerning holidays 92.3% of General Hospitals have 1 holiday(Rest Way) per week, 50.0% of Hospitals have 1 holidays(Rest Way) per week, 42.8% of Clinics have 1 holidays(Rest Way) per week. However 47.6% of Clinics have 1 holiday(Rest Way) every 2 week. 3. Their average duty intervals was almost within one and two per week. (in 30.8% of General Hospitals, 83.3% of Hospitals, 52.4% of Clinics) 4. Their monthly salary is higher in Hospitals and Clinics then in General Hospitals. 5. Their yearly bonus rate is General Hospitals 600∼70% (67.2%), Hospitals 400∼500%(41.6%), Clinics 100∼200%(47.5%). 6. Danger allowance is paid with the monthly salary in 80.8% of General Hospitals 25.0% of Hospitals. However in 95.2% of Clinics it is not paid entirely. 7. Their inital salary is about 300,000Won. 8. Their satisfaction of monthly salary is almost non satisfactin. 9. Their salary is raised regulary every year (in 46.1% of G. H. 50.0% of Hospitals), but it is irregulary in 71.4% of clinics. 10. Promotion system is managed in 92.3% of the G. H, in 58.3% of Hospitals. 11. Retirement allowance is assured in 98.1% of the G. H. in 66.7% of Hospitals, and in 28.6% of Clinics.

      • 진세노사이드 Rd와 사포닌 대사물인 compound K의 항지질과산화 효과

        To study on antioxidant effects in the liver of 40-week-old mouse, the sample were orally pretreated 5mg/kg/day for 5 days with red ginseng saponin components(total saponin, protopanaxadiol saponin, protopanaxatriol saponin, ginsenoside-Rd, ginsenoside-Re, compound-K) for 5 days. The ability of saponin to protect the mouse liver from oxidative damage was examined by determining the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione peroxidase(GPx) and the contents of glutathione, the level of malondialdehyde. The only protopanaxadiol among the ginseng saponin fractions was significantly increased the hepatic SOD activity(p<0.01). The red ginseng saponin induced a slight increase of GPx activity, especially ginsenoside Rd, compound K and protopanaxatriol treatments significantly increased its activity. The content of glutathione was significantly increased by total saponin, protopanaxadiol and ginsenoside Rd(p<0.01), but the oxidized glutathione level was lowered in all the red ginseng saponin. Finally, the level of malondialdehyde was significantly decreased by ginsenoside Rd and protopanaxadiol. In conclusion, protopanaxadiol and ginsenoside Rd among the saponin fraction were especially increased in the activity of hepatic antioxidative enzyme and decreased the lipid peroxidation that was expressed in term of MDA formation. This comprehensive antioxidant effects of red ginseng saponin seems to be by a certain action of saponin other than a direct antioxidant action.

        We discuss the theory of motion estimation and motion compensation. The proposed algorithm uses more information from the input video image sequence than the traditional two-frame pel-recursive algorithms. And it uses fewer assumptions on the motion vectors among different video frame pairs. This paper shows two three-frame pel-recursive algorithm for predictive motion compensation which can estimate the d₁(from the previous frame f_t-1 to current frame, f_t) and d₂(from the frame before the previous frame f_t-2 to the previous frame, f_t-1) simultaneously, and three frame information to update the motion vector d₁when the past motion vector d₂is available.

      • 라벤더 에탄올 추출물의 피지생성 억제효과

        Lavandula vera is indispensable member of the herb family, used for perfumes and potpourri. Androgens have profound effects on the physiology of the sebaceous gland. Sebum is secreted due to the effect of androgen, which starts to be secreted at puberty. Using the human sebocyte cell line SZ95, the author investigated the inhibitory effect of Lavandula vera on the lipid production. Light microscopic finding were examined numerous cytoplasmic lipid droplets SZ95 cells by Oil red staining and lipid droplets were increased markedly by testosterone. On the other hand, combined treatment with Lavandula vera and testosterone resulted in a lower lipid droplets than with testosterone alone in a dose-dependent manner. These findings indicate that Lavandula vera acts antagonistically to testosterone and inhibits the lipid synthesis of SZ95 cells at the cellular level.
