The new sulphide Mn1−XNiXS (0 < X ≤ 0.1) solid solutions are synthesized. The structural, magnetic, electric and thermoelectric properties of the obtained materials have been studied. TheX-ray diffraction analysis has shown that the synthesized Mn1−XNiXS samples have a NaCl-typeFCC lattice. The Mn1−XNiXS samples are antiferromagnets with the Neel temperature (TN = 180K for X = 0.05 and TN = 200 K for X = 0.1). The temperature dependence of magnetization isdescribed by the Curie-Weiss law at T > TN. The conductivity type change from the hole to theelectronic at X > 0.05 is revealed on the basis of the thermoelectric power measurements. Theresistivity and thermopower behaviors are explained in terms of the impurity subband formationinto MnS electron excitation gap.The new sulphide Mn1−XNiXS (0 < X ≤ 0.1) solid solutions are synthesized. <P>Zinc-ion batteries are emerging as next-generation rechargeable batteries that can operate in aqueous electrolytes. We first examine the feasibility of open-structured VO2(B) as a Zn2+ intercalation host. A bond-valence sum energy map predicts that four Zn2+-ion sites (ZnC, ZnA1, ZnA2, and ZnC′) can exist in the structure. Using first-principles calculations, we verified that 0.5 mol of Zn2+ ions can be reversibly (de)intercalated with an average voltage of ∼0.61 V (vs Zn2+/Zn), which is comparable with the experimental results. The specific capacity of VO2(B) at 50 mA g-1 is maintained up to ∼365 mAh g-1 corresponding to the storage capacity of ∼0.57 mol of Zn2+ ions in the framework of VO2(B), and its redox reaction occurs at ∼0.61 V. The high capacity is maintained for 200 cycles, with capacity retention of 80% (288 mAh g-1). Moreover, the capacity delivered by the VO2(B) electrode is stable even with cycling at a rate of 5C (1750 mA g-1) at approximately 110 mAh g-1. This high-power capability of VO2 is supported by the theoretical approach based on first-principles calculation, which shows the activation barrier for Zn2+ diffusion in the VO2(B) structure. These findings demonstrate the potential of open-structured VO2(B) as a new candidate material.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
STELLAR VARIABILITY OF THE EXOPLANET HOSTING STAR HD 63454

<P>Of the hundreds of exoplanets discovered using the radial velocity ( RV) technique, many are orbiting close to their host stars with periods less than 10 days. One of these, HD 63454, is a young active K dwarf which hosts a Jovian planet in a 2.82 day period orbit. The planet has a 14% transit probability and a predicted transit depth of 1.2%. Here we provide a re-analysis of the RV data to produce an accurate transit ephemeris. We further analyze 8 nights of time series data to search for stellar activity both intrinsic to the star and induced by possible interactions of the exoplanet with the stellar magnetospheres. We establish the photometric stability of the star at the 3 mmag level despite strong Ca II emission in the spectrum. Finally, we rule out photometric signatures of both star-planet magnetosphere interactions and planetary transit signatures. From this we are able to place constraints on both the orbital and physical properties of the planet.</P>
Spontaneous Isolated Dissection of Iliac Artery Treated with Endovascular Repair: A Case Report
Elisabetta Tanda,Genadi G. Genadiev,Sara Zappadu,Gabriele De Donno,Stefano Camparini 대한혈관외과학회 2021 Vascular Specialist International Vol.37 No.4
Spontaneous isolated dissection of the iliac artery (SID-IA) is a rare pathologic condition. The predisposing factors and best treatment strategies are still being debated. We present the case of a 59-year-old male with acute right lower limb ischemia characterized by the sudden occurrence of rest pain, hypoesthesia, and paresis. Angiography showed SID-IA extending down to the femoral bifurcation. The patient had no risk factors for SID-IA; however, he survived an electrocution and had arterial hypertension at admission. Endovascular revascularization was successfully performed, with complete restoration of limb blood flow and remission of symptoms. Follow-up ultrasonography at 1 year confirmed stent patency and absence of clinical symptoms. Endovascular stenting is a good therapeutic option for symptomatic SID-IA without rupture.

Primary malignant aortic tumors are rare and aggressive. Most cases are diagnosed at advanced stages or during autopsies with a median overall survival of 8 months from diagnosis. We present the case of a 59-year-old male with angiosarcoma involving all segments of the thoracic aorta and a large floating thrombus causing acute mesenteric ischemia, which was treated successfully with embolectomy. Graft replacement of the aorta should be considered in cases of localized disease and when patients are fit for surgery. The best medical and surgical treatment remains unclear, and further studies are needed.
