        Currently domestic criteria for the aircraft noise is being adapted WECPNL(weighted equivalent continuous perceived noise level), while internationally preferred method is L_(dn) which is originated from L_(eq) and can evaluate even environmental noise. WECPNL used in domestic as a evaluation method is only for the aircraft noise. It is, therefore, not adequate for the evaluation of residents' injury, moreover, it is very difficult to measure the aircraft noise with WECPNL due to the complicated calculating procedures as long as automatic measuring system is not used This study aims to propose alternative evaluation method for the aircraft noise. To achieve this purpose, the data measured by automatic measuring system in 5 places among domestic airports from 1998 to 2002 were gathered and calculated with three evaluation method ; WECPNL, L_(eq) and L_(dn) and the results calculated from different methods were compared and analyzed. At the same time, it was investigated problems generated from the actual operating of the automatic measuring system and that remedy was presented.

      • HPLC를 이용한 짚신나물과 산짚신나물의 성분 비교

        Background : Agrimonia pilosa (A. pilosa) Ledebour has been registered in The Korean Herbal Pharmacopeia (KHP). In the recent study, A. Coreana showed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. However, Studies of components in Agrimonia coreana (A. Coreana) Nakai was not much. So, we compared A. pilosa and A. coreana by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). we perfomed Thin layer chlromatography (TLC) including the anatomical characteristics by using microscope. Methods and Results : The anatomical characteristics of A. pilosa were similar to them of A. coreana. But, fascicular fivers of A. Coreana was broader than it of A. pilosa. TLC were performed to identify the Rutin and Apigenin-7-glucuronide compound. In the extract of Agrimoniae Herba, they were identified on the spot of Rf 0.2, 0.4 in Ethyl acetate - Formic acid – Water (8 : 1 : 1). The Rutin and Apigenin-7-glucuronide were analysed by HPLC/UV with Thermo Column (5 μm, 4.6 × 250 mm, C18), the column temperature at 40 ℃ and a diode-array detector (DAD) seted at 255 nm and 338 nm. The mobile phase was composed of water and acetonitrile containing 0.1% formic acid with the flow rate 1 mL/min. All compounds showed good linearity (R2>0.999) within test ranges. Agrimoniae herba was extrated by four kinds of extraction methods: MeOH, 50% MeOH, EtOH and water. The highest extraction rate occurred, when it was treated with 50% Methanol for refluxing extraction (60min). Content of Rutin was found to be 0.07±0.00 mg/g in A. pilosa and 0.02±0.00 mg/g in A. coreana. Content of Apigenin-7-glucuronide was found to be 0.12±0.00 mg/g in A. pilosa and 0.11±0.00 mg/g in A. coreana. Conclusion : The anatomical characteristics of A. pilosa were similar to them of A. coreana. Contents of Rutin and Apigenin-7-glucuronide in A. pilosa was higher than them in A. coreana slightly. But there were observed the similar patterns of Agrimonia pilosa Ledebour and Agrimonia coreana Nakai on the finger print anelysis.

        Three-Dimensional Printing of Congenital Heart Disease Models for Cardiac Surgery Simulation: Evaluation of Surgical Skill Improvement among Inexperienced Cardiothoracic Surgeons

        Objective: To evaluate the impact of surgical simulation training using a three-dimensional (3D)-printed model of tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) on surgical skill development. Materials and Methods: A life-size congenital heart disease model was printed using a Stratasys Object500 Connex2 printer from preoperative electrocardiography-gated CT scans of a 6-month-old patient with TOF with complex pulmonary stenosis. Eleven cardiothoracic surgeons independently evaluated the suitability of four 3D-printed models using composite Tango 27, 40, 50, and 60 in terms of palpation, resistance, extensibility, gap, cut-through ability, and reusability of. Among these, Tango 27 was selected as the final model. Six attendees (two junior cardiothoracic surgery residents, two senior residents, and two clinical fellows) independently performed simulation surgeries three times each. Surgical proficiency was evaluated by an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon on a 1–10 scale for each of the 10 surgical procedures. The times required for each surgical procedure were also measured. Results: In the simulation surgeries, six surgeons required a median of 34.4 (range 32.5–43.5) and 21.4 (17.9–192.7) minutes to apply the ventricular septal defect (VSD) and right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) patches, respectively, on their first simulation surgery. These times had significantly reduced to 17.3 (16.2–29.5) and 13.6 (10.3–30.0) minutes, respectively, in the third simulation surgery (p = 0.03 and p = 0.01, respectively). The decreases in the median patch appliance time among the six surgeons were 16.2 (range 13.6–17.7) and 8.0 (1.8–170.3) minutes for the VSD and RVOT patches, respectively. Summing the scores for the 10 procedures showed that the attendees scored an average of 28.58 ± 7.89 points on the first simulation surgery and improved their average score to 67.33 ± 15.10 on the third simulation surgery (p = 0.008). Conclusion: Inexperienced cardiothoracic surgeons improved their performance in terms of surgical proficiency and operation time during the experience of three simulation surgeries using a 3D-printed TOF model using Tango 27 composite.

        How Can We Preserve Social Memories?: Exploration of Global Open Archives

        Until now, records re-enacting social memories have not been main targets for preservation and management in Korea. However, people have recently begun to focus on forming and maintaining their memories because these personalized records have started to be recognized as social and political issues. In this respect, this study aims to find out how to preserve social memories by comparing various global open archives. For achieving our research goal, we first established the definition of social memories and records and revealed their characteristics. After then, we selected representative open archives' websites to examine their collection polices and compare them according to several criteria. As a result, we distilled insights based on similarities and differences of each archive and discussed considerations in preserving social memories consisting of three phases: analyzing target social memories, establishing collection policies, and collecting actual records. This study has significance in that it examines the characteristics of social memories and records and also suggests preliminary findings for advanced research to develop practical tools for social records management and archives.

        Clinical usefulness of fixation of absorbable implants with cyanoacrylate in comminuted fractures of the maxilla

        Background: The open reduction of craniofacial bone fractures requires internal fixation using metal plates and screws, which have been considered the gold standard. However, metal implants pose a risk of palpation, protrusion, and foreign body reaction, and they may require an additional operation for removal. Recently, good results have been reported for absorbable implants which complement the disadvantages of metal implants. This study presents the results of using absorbable mesh, plates, and screws with cyanoacrylate for more accurate and firmer fixation of comminuted fractures of the maxilla. Methods: In total, 235 patients underwent operations for comminuted fractures of the maxilla. From January 2012 to December 2014, absorbable mesh and screws were used in 114 patients, while from January 2015 to December 2017, absorbable mesh, plates, and screws with cyanoacrylate were used in 121 patients. Open reduction of the bone fragments was performed, after which absorbable implants were accurately molded and fixed by screws. Results: All patients underwent postoperative computed tomography scans, which showed highly accurate reduction and firm fixation in the patients who underwent procedures using absorbable implants, screws, and cyanoacrylate. There were no postoperative complications or cases of abnormal facial contour. Conclusion: When absorbable implants and screws are used for maxillary fractures, no additional surgery to remove the metal plate is required. In addition, the use of cyanoacrylate enables accurate and firm fixation of the tiny bone fragments that cannot be fixed with screws.

      • Mapping of QTLs for stem diameter in MGRIL using CAPS markers

        The next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology is being used for more effective genetic mapping and genome analysis. In this study, we performed whole-genome sequencing on the genomic DNA of Milyang23 and Gihobyeo using NGS and developed new cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence (CAPS) markers based on the single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in coding sequence between these varieties. Approximately, sequences of 60x coverage of the Nipponbare reference genome on average were obtained following Illumina sequencing. Totally, 1,726,798 SNPs between Milyang23 and Gihobyeo were detected. Among them, 149 SNP were selected for CAPS markers and located on genetic map with previously reported 219 PCR-based DNA markers. This map was applied to the detection of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for stem internode diameters, culm length and panicle length in rice with MGRIL population. Newly 6 QTLs were detected for culm length (CL) and stem diameter (ID) traits including the first internode diameter (I1D), third internode diameter (I3D), and fourth internode diameter (I4D). Among those QTLs, qI1D5 and qCL5 had relatively higher LOD score and explained 8.99% and 4.24% of total variation. This study showed that the NGS allowed the rapid discovery of a large number of SNPs for CAPS marker. Only very small portion of SNPs through re-sequencing were used in this study. Furthermore, the results of QTL analysis described above shows relevance of molecular markers in mapping genes for useful traits.

        현재 서울시에서 운영 중인 일부 간선버스와 광역버스 노선은 대부분 서울 외곽지역신도시와 종로 및 광화문을 중심으로 한 CBD 지역을 주요 간선도로와 고속도로를 통해 연결하면서, 주로 출퇴근 교통수단으로 많이 이용되고 있다. 하지만 노선 연장, 정류장 수 및 간격 등의 기본적인 운영요소들은 어디까지나 직관적인 판단에 의해 결정되는 것으로, 체계적이고 분석적인 접근에 의한 결과가 아니기 때문에 이용자에 대한 버스 서비스 수준 저하나 운영 효율성 저하를 초래할 수 있다.
