地域活性化를 위한 이벤트 觀光戰略에 관한 硏究 : 외국사례 분석을 중심으로

The study, first, reviews cost-effective benefits and economic impacts of event tourism. Secondly, this study examines the foreign examples of event tourism strategies which are being made efficiently and successfully to foster their local image, economy, and urban development. Finally, several event tourism strategies are suggested 1) to promote local festivals in Korea as the excellent cultural tourism products with the high developmental potentials, 2) to overcome local off-season barrier, 3) to maximize of local tourism income though the event tourism, and 4) to establish the educational program for attracting more local volunteers.
영동 난계 국악축제 연구 : A Longitudinal Study

The main aims of this article were to investigate the possibility of international cultural tourism product and tourists satisfaction based on geographical factors( local, domestic and foreign tourists). This is the longitudinal study on the cultural festival which used Korean traditional music as the main resource. It was founded as follows: Firstly, the satisfaction of foreign tourists was higher than residents and domestic tourists. So this festival has much potential which attracts many foreign tourists as a cultural product. Secondly, visitors the most satisfied about festival organization(5.25) and pamphlet distribution(4.48)and information system(4.39). But parking facility was the most negatively evaluated(3.25) and then convenient facility(3.51) was next in 1999. Visitors in 2000 satisfied more about festival organization(4.93) and pamphlet distribution(4.50). But they unsatisfied about parking facility(3.02), food price(3.35) and convenient facility(3.36). There should be improvement on parking facility, convenient facility, etc for customer-oriented festival. Thirdly, foreign visitors more satisfied about festival program than local and domestic visitors in 1999 and 2000 year festival. This showed the possibility of international festival of this Korean traditional music. They more satisfied about festival organization, information system, food price and facility, and food price. Residents' and domestic visitors' evaluation about food price was increased than year 1999 and 2000 festival. Foreigners' evaluation about food price, food booth facility and service was decreased than 1999 and 2000. There should be program development for foreigners. Based on 2003 festival results, it is recommended to have separated music instrument rooms. There should be better exhibitions and experiences facilities for good images. For foreigners, guides who have knowledge about traditional music instruments are necessary.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the satisfaction of visitors of Kimchi food festival in 1999, 2000, and 2003. This is the longitudinal study on the cultural festival which used Kimchi as the main resource. This study also investigated the possibility of Kimchi festival as a foreign tour product. This study has several important findings including as follows; First, the satisfaction of residents was higher than domestic visitors in most programs. Second, there were many foreign visitors to the festival and the satisfaction of foreign tourists was higher than residents and domestic tourists. More programs for the foreign visitors are recommended to be an international food festival. Third, experience based food tour events were popular. Introducing more experience oriented programs are recommended for this festival. Fourth, There should be more improvement on food price and parking.

The study examined the moderating effect of past visit experience on the relationships among festival service quality, festival satisfaction and behavioral intentions. The results showed that for repeat group, quality of festival food and product, festival convenient facilities had no impacts on festival satisfaction, while the impacts of the factors existed on festival satisfaction in first-time group. The effect of accessability and information providing on festival satisfaction existed in both first-time and repeat groups, however, the strength of the relationship showed a difference in two groups with larger effect in first-time group than in repeat group. On the other hand, the result found that there was a strong relationship between festival satisfaction and behavioral intention in both first-time and repeat groups.
