Presently, the number of known asteroids is more than 710,000. Knowledge of size andalbedo is essential in many aspects of asteroid research, such as the chemical composition andmineralogy, the size-frequency distribution of dynamical families, and the relationship between smallbodies in the outer solar system or comets. Recently, based on the infrared all-sky survey data obtainedby \emph{IRAS}, \emph{AKARI}, and \emph{WISE}, the large asteroid catalogs containing size and albedo datahave been constructed. In this paper, we discuss the compositional distribution in the mainbelt regions based on the compiled data on size, albedo, and separately obtained taxonomic typeinformation.

梁啓超的“東學”是指梁啓超在流亡日本時通過日語書籍學到的西方學術。衆所周知, 梁啓超流亡日本是在1898年, 卽明治31年。日本當時正處於將西方作爲“模範國”, 正式引進近代學術的時期, 梁啓超在當時的日本汲取了最新的學術信息。到現在爲止, 對梁啓超“東學”的硏究實際上不能說是盛行的。然而, 近年似乎由於別的“硏究潮流”, 對梁啓超“東學”的關註得以提高。那就是從東亞近代學術和知識制度究竟以何種形式産生的觀點進行的硏究。 玆擧壹例, 有硏究者註意到了哲學·文學·經濟·宗敎以及民主·共和·自由等槪念, 這是“槪念史”的硏究。本稿試圖從近代中國知識分子的“日本”認識之系譜這壹觀點, 對梁啓超的“東學”進行初步的定位。我想先從近代中國知識分子是즘樣認識日本的開始講起。 Liang Qichao’s “dongxue東學”(eastern learning) is the western academic learning which he learned through Japanese books in Japan.he went to Japan in 1898,Meiji 31.At that time,Japan saw western countries as “the model” and introduced western learning. Liang introduced the newest information in Japan. We cannot say until now scholars have researched Liang’s “dongxue” very well. But,it seems to me that some “research trends” began to focus on it. For example, some scholars are interested in important ideas such as philosophy, literature, economy, religion, democracy, republic, freedom and so on. This is the research of “history of ideas”. On this paper, I will try to research Liang’s “dongxue” from the viewpoint how Chinese intellectuals have seen “Japan”. So, firstly I would like to write how and when Chinese intellectuals begun to recognize Meiji japan.
DATA REDUCTION OF AKARI/IRC SPECTROSCOPIC OBSERVATIONS

AKARI performed about 10,000 spectroscopic observations with the Infrared Camera (IRC) during its mission phase. These IRC observations provide unique spectroscopic data at near- and mid-infrared wavelengthsfor studies of the next few decades because of its high sensitivity and unique wavelength coverage. In this paper, we present the current status of the activity for improving the IRC spectroscopicdata reduction process, including the toolkit and related data packages, and also discussthe goal of this project.

In the society of the 21st century under multiphase media conditions, the rapidly glowing electronic media will replace the conventional paper media in a variety of areas. However, if human being still has an affinity for paper media and an instinct for hardcopy from electronic-based text or image, the new market will be created for the paper industry. To what extent the consumer choses paper media for output will depend upon the availability of functions of paper media appealing to human senses; i.e,"sensory functions of paper".<br/> As a whole, on-demand type personal as well as business communications will increase in the next century and this trend will lead certainly to a rapidly expanding "contents hardcopy market" .<br/> The technological progress of the paper industry in the 2151 century depends upon the market needs for higher products quality and higher efficiency of manufacturing process as well as an endeavour to overcome constraints from forest resource, energy, and environmental issues.<br/> Under the conditions with above constraints, the paper media will be polarized into two categories;(l )paper for higher image reproduction capability for original image or text. and (2)paper for lower reproduction but with higher appeals for human senses.<br/> To cope with these trends, psycho-physical analysis and a sensory engineering approach for developing new paper media is vitally required. Also newly emerged roles of paper physics in the multimedia age is pointed out associated with sensory functions of paper that are not well-understood so far.
Numerical Study on Supersonic Mixing Enhancement with a Ramp Injector and a Cavity

In the present study, supersonic mixing enhancement has been investigated computationally for a SCRAM-jet engine model combustor with a swept ramp injector and a cavity. The calculation condition of the main stream are Ma = 3.96, total pressure 1.27 MPa and total temperature 283 K. In order to enhance the mixing among fuel and air a cavity is placed downstream of the ramp injector. The position and geometry of the cavity plays an important role in mixing efficiency. Therefore L/D and the Length from the ramp to the cavity have been varied. From numerical results. the mixing efficiency was the highest when L/D =2, but the total pressure loss was also the highest compared to L/D= 1,3 and 4.
An Improvement of Particle Swarm Optimization with A Neighborhood Search Algorithm

J. Kennedy and R. Eberhart first introduced the concept called as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). They applied it to optimize continuous nonlinear functions and demonstrated the effectiveness of the algorithm. Since then a considerable number of researchers have attempted to apply this concept to a variety of optimization problems and obtained reasonable results. In PSO, individuals communicate and exchange simple information with each other. The information among individuals is communicated in the swarm and the information between individuals and their swarm is also shared. Finally, the swarm approaches the optimal behavior. It is reported that reasonable approximate solutions of various types of test functions are obtained by employing PSO. However, if more precise solutions are required, additional algorithms and/or hybrid algorithms would be necessary. For example, the heading vector of the swarm can be slightly adjusted under some conditions. In this paper, we propose a hybrid algorithm to obtain more precise solutions. In the algorithm, when a better solution in the swarm is found, the neighborhood of a certain distance from the solution is searched. Then, the algorithm returns to the original PSO search. By this hybrid method, we can obtain considerably better solutions in less iterations than by the standard PSO method.

We investigated the simultaneous removal of phosphate and nitrite ions from aqueous solutions by acombination treatment that used both PG-Ca (poly-g-glutamic acid combined with flocculating agents)and SB600 (soybeans treated with calcium chloride, hydrochloric acid and calcined at 600 8C). Phosphateions and nitrite ions were selectivity adsorbed by PG-Ca and SB600, respectively. The removalmechanism of phosphate ions from aqueous solution was related to the presence of calcium hydroxide(derived from PG-Ca), and that of nitrite ions was related to the presence of chloride ions at the surface ofSB600.
