The employment of Ni–Mo films has recently been shown to yield strictly homogeneous single-layer graphene. In this study, we systematically investigate the different stages of nucleation and growth of graphene over Ni–Mo layers. The studies reveal that the Ni film breaks up and diffuses into the underlying Mo foil, forming a Ni–Mo intermetallic. Nucleation only occurs from Ni sites, and thus, the nucleation density can be controlled by the Ni film thickness. Both nucleation and growth of the graphene are shown to be susceptible to very efficient self-termination processes to the formation of molybdenum carbide, and this guarantees the formation of large area graphene that consists entirely of monolayer graphene.

Graphic Abstract

ACS Electronic Supporting Info

Chun-Ru Fu,Huan-Nan Shi,Dong-Sheng Wang Korean Mathematical Society 2023 대한수학회지 Vol.60 No.3
In this paper, using the theory of majorization, we discuss the Schur m power convexity for L-conjugate means of n variables and the Schur convexity for weighted L-conjugate means of n variables. As applications, we get several inequalities of general mean satisfying Schur convexity, and a few comparative inequalities about n variables Gini mean are established.

Medical diagnostic X-ray workers are one occupational group that expose to the long-term low-dose external radiation over their working lifetime, and they may under risk of different cancers. This study aims to determine the relationship between the occupational X-ray radiation exposure and cancer risk among these workers in Jiangsu, China. We conducted Nested case-control study to investigate the occupational X-ray radiation exposure and cancer risk. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaire, which includes but not limits to demographic data, personal behaviors and family history of cancer. Retrospective dose reconstruction was conducted to estimate the cumulative doses of the x-ray workers. Inferential statistics, t-test and 2 tests were used to compare the differences between each group. We used the logistic regression model to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) of cancer by adjusting the age, gender. All 34 breast cancer cases and 45 esophageal cancer cases that detected in a cohort conducted among health workers between 1950~2011 were included in this presented study, and 158 cancer-free controls were selected by frequency-matched (1:2). Our study found that the occupational radiation exposure was associated with a significantly increased cancer risk compared with the control, especially in breast cancer and esophageal cancer (adjusted OR=2.90, 95% CI: 1.19-7.04 for breast cancer; OR=4.19, 95% CI: 1.87-9.38 for esophageal cancer, and OR=3.43, 95% CI: 1.92-6.12 for total cancer, respectively). The occupational X-ray radiation exposure was associated with increasing cancer risk, which indicates that proper intervention and prevention strategies may be needed in order to bring down the occupational cancer risk.
Application of a novel cationic starch in enhanced oil recovery and its adsorption properties
Ru Qiao,Weiqun Zhu,Jianong Fu,Lanlan Zhu,Shiyou Hao 한국화학공학회 2013 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.30 No.1
We report a preparation of water-soluble cationic starch and its application as an oil-displacing agent in chemical enhanced oil recovery. The singular sand-pack core-flood tests provide experimental evidence that the injection of the modified starch after the conventional water flooding can significantly enhance oil recovery and effectively reduce water-cut. To discuss the proposed oil-displacement mechanism of this cationic starch solution, its static and dynamic adsorption properties were also presented in this paper.
Real-Time Object Detection and Tracking on a Moving Camera Platform
Cheng-Ming Huang,Yi-Ru Chen,Li-Chen Fu 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
This paper presents a real-time tracking system to detect and track multiple moving objects on a controlled pan-tilt camera platform. In order to describe the relationship between the targets and camera in this tracking system, the input/output hidden Markov model (HMM) is applied here in the well-defined spherical camera coordinate. Since the detection and tracking for different targets are performed at the same time on a moving camera platform, the detection and tracking processes must be fast and effective. A hybrid detection algorithm which combines the target’"s color and optical flow information is proposed here. A two layer tracking architecture is then utilized for tracking the detected target. The bottom level utilizes the Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi (KLT) feature point tracker which identifies the local point correspondence across image frames. The particle filter at top level, which maintains the relation between target and feature points, estimates the tracked target state. The overall performance has been validated in the experiments.

The results shows that the external environment has positive impact on SMEs’ lifecycle, and economic environment, technological environment as well as human resources environment have prominent influences on SEMs’ lifecycle, but the influences of political environment, socioculture environment and natural resources environment on SEMs’ lifecycle are inconspicuous Further more, the results above is analyzed and the countermeasures on how to prolong the llife cycle of small and medium-sized enterprise in our country from the perspectives of both government and corporation are proposed
Identification of flutter derivatives of bridge decks using stochastic search technique
Ai-Rong Chen,Fu-You Xu,Ru-Jin Ma 한국풍공학회 2006 Wind and Structures, An International Journal (WAS Vol.9 No.6
A more applicable optimization model for extracting flutter derivatives of bridge decks is presented, which is suitable for time-varying weights for fitting errors and different lengths of vertical bending and torsional free vibration data. A stochastic search technique for searching the optimal solution of optimization problem is developed, which is more convenient in understanding and programming than the alternate iteration technique, and testified to be a valid and efficient method using two numerical examples. On the basis of the section model test of Sutong Bridge deck, the flutter derivatives are extracted by the stochastic search technique, and compared with the identification results using the modified least-square method. The Empirical Mode Decomposition method is employed to eliminate noise, trends and zero excursion of the collected free vibration data of vertical bending and torsional motion, by which the identification precision of flutter derivatives is improved.

Objective: To analyze the detection rate of the inferior pyloric artery (IPA) in patients with gastric cancer by computed tomography arteriography (CTA). Materials and Methods: Fifty-four patients (48 males and 6 females; mean age, 59.0 ± 1.5 years) who had undergone radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer from September 2016 to July 2017 at our institution were recruited prospectively. Patients underwent abdominal contrast-enhanced CT scans and CTA imaging reconstruction before the operation. The origin of the IPA in all cases was determined by a radiologist based on CTA images and verified by the surgeon. The accuracy of CTA in diagnosing the origin of the IPA was calculated. Dominant vessels of the origin were analyzed. Results: IPAs were detected by CTA in 51 patients (94.4%). Among these, IPAs originated from the right gastroepiploic artery (RGEA) (24 cases), the gastroduodenal artery (GDA) (4 cases), and the anterior superior pancreaticoduodenal artery (ASPDA) (20 cases). In the remaining 3 cases, the IPAs contained two branches originating from the RGEA and ASPDA, respectively. During surgery, in 2 (3.7%) of the 54 cases of gastric cancer, IPAs could not be detected; the IPAs originated from the RGEA (22 cases), GDA (5 cases), and ASPDA (24 cases). One case had an IPA originating from both the RGEA and the GDA. Finally, the accuracy of CTA in diagnosing the origin artery of the IPA was 85.2% (46/54). Conclusion: CTA can detect the origin of the IPA accurately, which can aid surgeons while performing pylorus-preserving operations.
