This study examines the information searching of business travelers and their behavior based on the cultural differences. Despite growing academic interest in business travel i n recent years, there has been little investigation of the information search behaviors of business travelers in a cross-culture context. The above themes are rational assumed that information search behaviour are necessary to understand. To address the identified gap s in the literature, the proposed relationships are examined and presented through using chi-square method with a survey sample. The research sample included Japanese, English and Chinese business travellers. A self-administrated questionnaire was distributed to 211 business travelers attending international conventions in Taipei. The research findings reveal that information preferences of business travelers are significantly differed from the three recognized groups in the case of Taiwan. Some significant differences in information search behaviors were recognized amongst the three recognized respondent groups. Marketing implications were also proposed and presented.
Extracting parameters of TMD and primary structure from the combined system responses
Chi-Chang Lin,Jer-Fu Wang 국제구조공학회 2015 Smart Structures and Systems, An International Jou Vol.16 No.5
Tuned mass dampers (TMDs) have been a prevalent vibration control device for suppressing excessive vibration because of environmental loadings in contemporary tall buildings since the mid-1970s. A TMD must be tuned to the natural frequency of the primary structure to be effective. In practice, a TMD may be assembled in situ, simultaneously with the building construction. In such a situation, the respective dynamic properties of the TMD device and building cannot be identified to determine the tuning status of the TMD. For this purpose, a methodology was developed to obtain the parameters of the TMD and primary building on the basis of the eigenparameters of any two complex modes of the combined building–TMD system. The theory was derived in state-space to characterize the nonclassical damping feature of the system, and combined with a system identification technique to obtain the system eigenparameters using the acceleration measurements. The proposed procedure was first demonstrated using a numerical verification and then applied to real, experimental data of a large-scale building–TMD system. The results showed that the procedure is capable of identifying the respective parameters of the TMD and primary structure and is applicable in real implementations by using only the acceleration response measurements of the TMD and its located floor.

Fish body length is considered as an important index for resource management. Many organizations put restrictions on the size of caught fish that can be retained. In conservation ecology, fish body length is also used as an indicator for determining the sexual maturity. Conventionally, fish body length was measured manually using rulers or tape measures. Manual methods are, however, time consuming, labor intensive, imprecise and subjective. This study proposed a method to automatically measure fish body length from images with complex background. In the approach, a convolutional neural network classifier was first developed to detect fish head, fish caudal, and color plate in an image. Pixel to distance ratio was then calculated using the known length (25cm) of the color plate. Next, fish body length was estimated as the distance between the fish head and caudal. The approach reached an accuracy of 95.53% for fish body length estimation.
REVISITING CONSUMER CONTAMINATION: INFLUENCES OF PROXIMITY AND SCOPE OF CONTACT
Fu-Yung Kuan,En-Chi Chang,Sin-Yao Chen 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2014 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2014 No.8
According to theory of consumer contamination (Argo, Dahl & Morales, 2006), a product, after being touched by a customer, will be disgusted and devalued by the following customer. However, Argo, et al. (2006) considered only a high salience of contact product, i.e., T-shirts, and did not consider low salience of contact products. This study extended the study of Argo, et al. (2006) and examined whether perception of consumer contamination varies between products of different saliences of contact. The gender difference was also considered. The result from an experiment showed that consumers’ reactions to ‘contaminated’ products vary, depending on the salience of contact. The result also shows that female consumers tend to be more sensitive to consumer contamination.

Analyses of Effects of Process Parameters on Laser Bending of Stiffened Panels
Shouchong Fu,Lijun Yang,Hongzhi Zhang,Yang Wang,Guanxin Chi 한국정밀공학회 2018 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.19 No.4
In this paper, laser forming technology was extended to form the stiffened panels. Compared with the plate with constant thickness, the stiffened panel was a type of panel with complicated structure and was hard to form. In order to gain a profound insight into the deformation characteristics of the stiffened panel under laser forming, a finite element model was established. The effects of process parameters on the deformation characteristics were investigated in terms of temperature distribution, stress and strain distribution. The influences of the process parameters on the unexpected deformation were analyzed by analyzing the influences of the process parameters on the maximum temperature theoretically. The results showed that laser spot diameter had the most important effect on the maximum temperature followed by the laser power and scanning speed. So when the scanning speed changed, the variation of the difference of the plastic strain between the top and bottom surface was the smallest. When the laser spot diameter decreased, the increment of the maximum temperature, the plastic strain as well as the deformation of the middle position of the scanning path was the largest. The increase of the deformation of the middle position of the scanning path could decrease the degree of the nonuniformity of the deformation of the free end, namely increasing the quality of the formed panel.
