Radioactive cesium removal by Prussian blue deposited iron oxide nanoparticles
( Faruque Md Hasan Al ),최은숙,김정희,김은주 한국공업화학회 2019 한국공업화학회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.2019 No.1
In this study, to mitigate the side effects of Prussian Blue (PB), magnetic nanoparticle (M-NP)-based absorbents for cesium (Cs) was prepared by simple binding or photo-deposition of PB on iron oxide nanoparticles (M-PB-UV). PB-deposited magnetic nanoparticles may reduce the intake of potentially hazardous PB along with improved Cs removal capacity compare with the original form of the adsorbent.
PRESENT STATUS OF BUFFALOES AND THEIR PRODUCTIVITY IN BANGLADESH
Faruque, M.O.,Hasnath, M.A.,Siddique, N.U. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1990 Animal Bioscience Vol.3 No.4
1.86 million (Indigenous river, swamp, and swamp X river type) buffaloes are distributed mainly in the plain land, sugarcane belt and coastal area of Bangladesh and are raised by the small farm holders. Buffaloes per house-hold ranges from 5.79 to 2.12. Height at wither is $123{\pm}3.09$ and $112.5{\pm}2.15cm$ for buffaloes of central and eastern region respectively. Growth rate of buffalo calves ranges from 360 to 340 g/day. Late maturity ($1411.58{\pm}43.01d$) along with long life span facilitates farmers to use buffaloes longer period. Average daily milk yield is $2.32{\pm}0.63L$ with average lactation yield of $730{\pm}90l$ for $328{\pm}28.76d$. Both male and female individuals are used for draught purpose. A pair of buffalo can prepared $0.23{\pm}0.06ha$ of land daily and can work for $6.1{\pm}0.78hr$.
Ascertaining polarity of public opinions on Bangladesh cricket using machine learning techniques
Faruque M. Abdullah,Rahman Saifur,Chakraborty Partha,Choudhury Tanupriya,Um Jung-Sup,Singh Thipendra Pal 대한공간정보학회 2022 Spatial Information Research Vol.30 No.1
In the present world, we are not only the consumers of information but creators as well. The virtual world of social media, which is considered a free open forum for discussion; provides its participants a chance to shape or re-shape the digital information by expressing opinions. These opinions generally contain different types of sentiments. Sentiment analysis is a tool that performs the computational study of identifying and extracting sentiment content of textual data that can be used to classify those public opinions posted on various topics in social media. In this paper, a sentiment polarity detection approach is presented, that detects the polarity of textual Facebook posts in Bangla containing people’s point of views on Bangladesh Cricket using three popular supervised machine learning algorithms named Naive Bayes (NB), support vector machines (SVM), and logistic regression (LR). Comparative result analysis is also provided between classifiers, where LR performed slightly better than SVM and NB by considering n-gram as a feature with an accuracy of 83%.

In this study, leukemia cells in the bloodstream were directly removed under whole-body hyperthermia, using leukemia cell-specific MNPs. EpCAM antibody was immobilized on the surface of MNPs (EpCAMMNPs) to introduce the specificity of MNPs to leukemia cells. Magnetic hyperthermia can be used to remove leukemia cells owing to the specific binding of MNPs to target cells.
Self-assembled folding of a biaxially compressed film on a compliant substrate
Faruque Ahmed, Sk.,Nagashima, S.,Lee, J.Y.,Lee, K.R.,Kim, K.S.,Moon, M.W. Pergamon Press ; Elsevier Science Ltd 2014 Carbon Vol.76 No.-
Amorphous carbon films grown by ion beam deposition from hydrocarbon precursors on compliant polymer substrates are shown here to undergo spontaneous self-assembled folding during growth. When deposited up to 30min, the deposition-induced stretch strain of an amorphous carbon film on poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) with a Young's modulus of 1-2MPa reached more than 50%, which is much higher than usually observed compressive mismatch strains of approximately 1-2% on silicon. During deposition of the carbon film, compliant PDMS substrates allowed large amplitude film buckling to let in lateral growth of the film with the significant compressive mismatch strain. The film wrinkled at a low strain of approximately 1% at an early stage of deposition. Then, the wrinkled film was observed to transform its configuration through two different nonlinear modes; formations of ridges and asymmetric localized folds. Due to the biaxial nature of the deposited thin film, the wrinkled film showed herringbone or labyrinth patterns for strains less than 10%, while the folds were made in random orientations to create asymmetric disordered tessellation for strains more than 30%.
Magnetic hyperthermia for induction of apoptosis of tumor xenograft with EGFR mutation
( Faruque Md Hasan Al ),최은숙,김정희,김은주 한국공업화학회 2019 한국공업화학회 연구논문 초록집 Vol.2019 No.1
In this study, we investigate the effects of temperature distribution on the viability of cancer cells and the therapeutic potential in a xenograft model. Tumor volume of the magnetic hyperthermia group stagnated in long term observation during 28 days, whereas the untreated control group showed liner tumor growth. The intratumoral application of magnetic material was shown to be an efficient tool for the induction of hyperthermic temperature and kill the cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo conditions.
