Objective: This study was performed to investigate buccal facial depth (BFD) changes after extraction and nonextraction orthodontic treatments in postadolescent and adult female patients, and to explore possible influencing factors. Methods: Twelve and nine female patients were enrolled in the extraction and nonextraction groups, respectively. Changes in BFD in the defined buccal region and six transverse and two coronal measuring planes were measured after registering pretreatment and posttreatment three-dimensional facial scans. Changes in posterior dentoalveolar arch widths were also measured. Treatment duration, changes in body mass index (BMI), and cephalometric variables were compared between the groups. Results: BFD in the buccal region decreased by approximately 1.45 mm in the extraction group, but no significant change was observed in the nonextraction group. In the extraction group, the decrease in BFD was identical between the two coronal measuring planes, whereas this differed among the six transverse measuring planes. Posterior dentoalveolar arch widths decreased in the extraction group, whereas these increased at the second premolar level in the nonextraction group. The treatment duration of the extraction group was twice that of the nonextraction group. No differences were found in BMI and Frankfort horizontal-mandibular plane angle changes between the groups. BFD changes in the buccal region moderately correlated with treatment duration and dental arch width change. Conclusions: BFD decreased in adult female patients undergoing extraction, and this may be influenced by the long treatment duration and constriction of dentoalveolar arch width. However, nonextraction treatment did not significantly alter BFD.

The dual active bridge (DAB) converter is attracting more and more attention nowadays for its advantages like higher power density and soft switching properties. However, the LC input filter which is often cascaded with DAB to improve input current quality sometimes leads to instability of the whole cascaded system. To analyze stability of this cascaded system with an LC input filter, this paper builds the full-order DAB closed-loop impedance model impedance with generalized state-space averaging method. The derived model is used in the minor loop gain of the cascaded system for stability assessment with Nyquist Criteria. And the effects of different PI controller parameters are analyzed. Experimental results validate the theoretical analysis.
Implementation of Biorthogonal Wavelet Transform Using Windowed APDF Based on DCT
Xiao Zhou,Qiming Fu,Fanfan Yang,Chengyou Wang 보안공학연구지원센터(IJSIP) 2014 International Journal of Signal Processing, Image Vol.7 No.6
All phase digital filter (APDF) is a new type of linear phase FIR digital filter that was proposed in recent years. Firstly, the theory of biorthogonal wavelet transform and windowed APDF based on DCT is expounded and the relationship between them is discussed. Secondly, a novel algorithm is proposed to implement biorthogonal wavelet transform by using windowed APDF based on DCT. As an important application of biorthogonal wavelet transform, multi-resolution analysis of 2-D image signal could be used to test the feasibility and applicability of the proposed algorithm. Finally, the simulation results using MATLAB tool are shown in this paper and the analysis indicates that the proposed method performs well.
A Multi-objective Planning of Transmission Line Balance Degree Based on Power Flow Entropy Theory
Jiaqing Zhong,Fanfan Gao,Xiaohui Zhang 대한전기학회 2022 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.17 No.5
The equilibrium degree of transmission lines in the multi-objective planning of power grid is studied in this paper. The main purpose of the study is to ensure the economy and improve the balanced distribution of active power fl ow of transmission lines, furthermore increase the adaptability of transmission lines in the future power grid. The problem is mainly focus on the single-level of line load rate, in researching on the distribution balance of active power fl ow in transmission lines. Three indexed, which are line load rate power fl ow entropy, active loss rate power fl ow entropy and transmission effi ciency power fl ow entropy, are defi ned in this paper. The weighted sum of the three indexes is defi ned as the balance factor of active power fl ow distribution in transmission lines. This factor is used in transmission network planning to improve the overall balance of active power fl ow distribution in transmission lines. On this basis, a multi-objective programming model with minimum economic cost and maximum equilibrium factor of transmission network is established. The model is solved by using multiobjective bacterial colony chemotactic algorithm (BCC) and optimal compromise solution method. The results verify the superiority and rationality of the proposed method and model.
Blind Color Image Watermarking Based on DWT and LU Decomposition
( Dongyan Wang ),( Fanfan Yang ),( Heng Zhang ) 한국정보처리학회 2016 Journal of information processing systems Vol.12 No.4
In watermarking schemes, the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is broadly used because its frequency component separation is very useful. Moreover, LU decomposition has little influence on the visual quality of the watermark. Hence, in this paper, a novel blind watermark algorithm is presented based on LU transform and DWT for the copyright protection of digital images. In this algorithm, the color host image is first performed with DWT. Then, the horizontal and vertical diagonal high frequency components are extracted from the wavelet domain, and the sub-images are divided into 4×4 non-overlapping image blocks. Next, each sub-block is performed with LU decomposition. Finally, the color image watermark is transformed by Arnold permutation, and then it is inserted into the upper triangular matrix. The experimental results imply that this algorithm has good features of invisibility and it is robust against different attacks to a certain degree, such as contrast adjustment, JPEG compression, salt and pepper noise, cropping, and Gaussian noise.

Abnormal accumulation of the free-form alltrans- retinal (atRAL), a major intermediate of human visual cycle, is considered to be a key cause of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) dysfunction in the pathogenesis of retinal degenerative diseases such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Paeoniflorin (PF), a monoterpene glucoside isolated from Paeonia lactiflora Pall., has been used in clinical treatment of retinal degenerative diseases in China for several years; however, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. The aim of this study is to investigate the protective effect of PF against atRAL toxicity in human ARPE-19 cells and its molecular mechanism. The results of our study showed that the pre-treatment of PF dose-dependently attenuated atRAL-induced cell injury by the reduction of Nox1/ROS-associated oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction and GRP78-PERK-eIF2a- ATF4-CHOP-regulated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in ARPE-19 cells. Additionally, our data showed that PF mainly exerted its activity via triggering calcium-calmodulin dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII)-mediated activation of AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK). AMPK inhibition significantly reversed the protective effect of PF against atRAL toxicity in ARPE-19 cells. Overall, our findings provided the novel mechanism of PF protecting human RPE cells, which may prevent the progression of retinal degenerative diseases.

The emerging triple-phase-shift (TPS) modulation method has been successfully applied to the dual active bridge (DAB) converters, eliminating the circulating current and thus improving the efficiency. Hence the TPS-based DAB converter has been receiving greater attention in recent years. However, the interaction between the TPS-DAB converter and its LC filter may cause instable problems. This paper develops the impedance model of the TPS-DAB converter. With the developed input impedance model, the stability of the TPS-DAB converter and its LC filter is analyzed. The effects of the LC filter parameters on the stability of the TPS-DAB converter and the LC filter are clarified. Finally, the experimental results are provided for validating the impedance model and stability analysis.
