        Optimal paradigms in Korean nominal inflection

This paper is mainly concerned with surface resemblances shared by paradigm members in Korean nominal inflection In order to deal with various patterns of paradigms, it is proposed that Optimal Paradigms constraints proposed by McCarthy (200 I) be decomposed into subconstraints according to the correspondence relations among paradigm members. It is also shown that the proposal made to analyze the dialects involving palatalization can treat the dialects that exhibit /s/-neutralization equally well. (Seoul Women's University)

        응구기의 소설에 나타난 증오와 사랑의 알레고리

        This study examines the relationship features in Ngũgĩ’s novels. Ngũgĩ employs the use of allegory as a literary tool to reveal the colonial and post-colonial history in his nation, Kenya. His allegory introduces “love and hate” relationships for symbolic representations of what happened during that period of time. Hostile hateful relationships are caused by the aftermath of the imperialists’ rules but romantic relationships are also made at the same time. The image of the love and hate which the characters convey in Ngũgĩ’s narrative is a coded way of describing that historical period, along with hope for the future. So their various relationships are associated with oppression, repression, betrayal, hope, desire, and rebirth, and can symbolize two-faced situations between the colonizer and the colonized, the ruler and the ruled, the rich and the poor, and the exploiter and the exploited. In Ngũgĩ’s works, such conflicting positions between the main characters suggest that individuals can not be emancipated from the social forces which affect them. For Ngũgĩ, if abhorrent relationships are allegory of the decadent state of his country which exiled him, then romantic relationships are allegory of his cherished love for his country.         블루스의 의미: 『마 레이니의 블랙 바텀』 (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)에 나타난 저항과 분노

        This paper focuses on resistance and fury in August Wilson’ Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Ma Rainey gained the nickname ‘Mother of the Blues’ in the decade of the 1920s. She moved from the Deep South to urban Chicago to record songs with her band. The white producer, Sturdyvant, and the white manager Irvin try to take advantage of Ma’s singing talent for financial gain without respecting her as a human being and famous blues singer. Ma Rainey strives to get white people to treat her the way she wants to be treated. She fights against the inevitable discrimination and injustice African Americans had to endure. For her, the blues is symbolic of resistance. A young black trumpet player, Levee, is an ambitious musician who dreams of recording his own music in the new style of the era. He represses his own pain and fury from a tragic family history stemming from the persecution of whites. He could not move from the Imaginary toward the Symbolic. This means he lacks having the signifier of Lacan’s Name of the Father. He could never reach the stage of the desiring subject and thus remains as merely a little child. He bears his frustration badly about his crushed dreams caused by white people. In this poor state, he can not control himself, and releases his fury by murdering his black colleague, Toledo.         해외 산재보험 휴업급여와 상병수당 제도 비교 분석

        본 연구는 일시적 노동능력상실에 대한 소득보장제도인 산재보험 휴업급여와 상병수당 제도를 OECD 국가를 중심으로 비교 분석하였다. 여기서는 제도형태, 적용대상, 급여 수준, 대기기간, 지급기간 등을 중심으로 두 제도를 비교 분석하였다. 제도형태에 있어서는 두 제도 모두 사회보험으로 운영하는 것이 일반적이었으며, 적용대상에 있어서는 근로자의 경우 적용범위가 거의 유사하나 자영업자의 경우 적용여부가 매우 다양하게 나타나고 있었다. 급여수준에 있어서는 휴업급여가 상병수당보다 더 높게 나타나는 것이 일반적이었으며, 대기기간에 있어서는 상병수당은 대기기간을 두는 것이 일반적이나 휴업 급여는 대기기간을 두지 않는 국가가 많은 편이었다. 그리고 지급기간에 있어서는 상병 수당은 대부분의 국가에서 제한을 두는 것으로 나타나지만, 휴업급여는 제한을 두는 국가와 두지 않는 국가가 유사하게 나타나고 있다. 이러한 분석결과를 바탕으로 우리나라 상병수당제도 도입에서의 시사점을 도출하였다. This study compares the temporary disability benefit of workers' compensation and sickness benefit, which are income guarantee systems for temporary incapacity for work, focusing on OECD countries. This study compares the two systems with a focus on the types of programs, coverage, benefit level, waiting period, and payment period. First, both systems are generally operated by social insurance system. Second, the coverage for workers is almost similar, but the coverage for the self-employed is very diverse in both systems. Third, sickness benefit mainly has a waiting period, and temporary disability benefit mainly does not have it. Fourth, payment period for sickness benefit is generally limited, but there are many cases in which temporary disability benefit has no limitation on payment period. Based on these analysis results, implications for the introduction of the sickness benefit in Korea are drawn.

        K-POP을 활용한 한국어 교육과정 경험에 관한 사례연구

        The study aims to provide useful implications and insights for designing Practical Korean language curriculum for the future by exploring the characteristics found in the Korean language curriculum experience using K-POP from the perspective of the participants. This study was designed using the ‘case study’ method to understand the experience in the Korean language curriculum using K-POP. First, looking at the characteristics of the contents shown in the experience of the Korean language curriculum using K-POP, learners tended to pursue the usefulness of knowledge with interest and acquired content focusing on sympathetic messages. Second, in terms of the learning method shown in the Korean language curriculum experience using K-POP, learners developed their learning experience based on discovery learning. In addition, they used the shadowing method, one of the language improvement techniques, and showed an embodied cognitive process that leads to active use of direct speech and writing from passive language learning to listening, reading, and understanding. Third, as a characteristic of learning outcomes that reflect Korean language education experiences using K-POP, learners collected and shared K-POP-related materials, forming a new participatory culture, and improving their online content media literacy skills. This study reveals practical information on what experience Korean language education using K-POP provides from the perspective of learning subjects. The practical reports and analysis results of the case actually provided important clues for reorganizing and designing the curriculum.         응구기와 시옹오의 『피의 꽃잎들』에 나타난 불의 의미

        Ngũgĩ praises the power of fire to destroy and purify the evils of Kenya’s neo-colonial era. In particular, his Petals of Blood is full of images of fire that were glorified in ancient Hindu mythology. The story reveals the relationship between the oppressors and oppressed in the process of finding the perpetrators of the brothel arson murders. The reader discovers that the true perpetrators of the violence of neo-colonial society are the victims of the fire incident, and the arson suspects themselves were the oppressed in the neo-colonial society. An alleged criminal, Godfrey Munira, is asked to keep a prison diary for investigation by inspector Godfrey, and he recalls the time from when he arrived at Ilmorog 12 years ago to the arson incident. Munira, who has consistently maintained his position as an observer and an outsider in all groups, confesses that he committed arson to destroy evil deeds, and after the arson, he was “baptized by fire” and felt purified. Wanja, a prostitute, who almost died in the fire, “cleanses” her sexual immorality by fire and rises like the mythical phoenix from the ashes. Ngũgĩ’s ideology of fire, decolonization and resistance in the neo-colonial society, is the central theme that guides the characters on a new path of life. (Chonbuk National University)

        Korean EFL Learners’ Perceptions on Classroom-based Speaking Assessment

        This study examined Korean EFL learners’ perceptions on classroom-based English speaking assessment rubric, tasks, and methods, linked to classroom instruction and curriculum through a questionnaire survey and an interview. The learners’ perceptions on teacher’s feedback and their perceived effectiveness of shadowing and instruction on stress patterns were also examined. The participants were 23 Korean EFL college students. The speaking assessment rubric comprised six criteria: preparedness, pronunciation, accuracy, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. The assessment consisted of four different types of tasks: vocabulary tests, dialogues, interviews, and individual oral presentations on a given topic. Their speech was recorded digitally. The results showed that the learners perceived the criteria of the rubric and the types of tasks used in the assessment to be appropriate for their speaking evaluation. Although many students expressed that recording can cause stress, the majority of the learners acknowledged that it is required in speaking assessment. In addition, most of them regarded the teacher’s feedback to be imperative and beneficial. Moreover, they perceived shadowing and the instruction and practice of English stress patterns to be helpful for improving their speaking proficiency. (Pai Chai University)

        질병 공간 담론에서 개인의 신체 의미 : 영국의 정신의학 담론과 버지니아 울프의 『댈러웨이 부인』

        This paper explores psychiatry and psychotic treatment in early twentieth century Britain in Virginia Woolf's Mrs. Dalloway, and discusses the physical meaning of an individual at the boundary of the closure, separation, and movement of private and public spaces caused by illness. Traumatic neurosis, which was coined in the nineteenth century, appeared in World War Ⅰ soldiers suffering from shell shock, now called post-traumatic stress disorder or, PTSD. To illustrate the unexplained symptoms, medical officers conspiring with the ruling powers called cowards or the weak for a number of patients who had no injuries but felt physically aggressive. During the war, military officials had to find a pretext to return the afflicted soldiers to the battlefield. After the war, their symptoms were also not acknowledged because of compensation problems. Each time, those symptoms were only a matter of an individual. In other words, it was not because of the war, but rather the nature and personality of the individual. This forced many soldiers and veterans to experience additional mental and physical pain beyond the impact of the shell shock. In Mrs. Dalloway, Septimus Warren Smith is suffering from trauma neurosis after returning to work after the war. It is also a painful and heterogeneous experience for Septimus to re-enter everyday life in London. However, the ruling powers, who have been devoting themselves to postwar reconstruction, require the people to live as individuals to fit for the goal of national reconstruction. Such a push is only another example of violence to Septimus. The state regards individual inadequacies as a threat to society and leads to his personal separation, detention, and control. Ultimately, he cannot be considered a healthy individual at the national level, so Septimus commits suicide. He escapes the situation of being imprisoned in a sanatorium and throws himself out the window. Unlike some assessments of the trauma neurosis based on Woolf’s own personal experience, Mrs. Dalloway criticizes the eugenic lineage of British society and the medical profession that coincides with the power class, revealing the problems of an individual, nation, and a race.

        에폭시 레진의 입체 형태 제작과 표현법 연구

        본 연구는 <조형 디자인 확장을 위한 이미지 스케일 기반의 레진 및 실리콘 성형기법 개발과 활용방 안에 대한 연구>의 3년 차 연구 중 에폭시 레진의 입체적 가공에 대한 실험을 바탕으로 에폭시를 이용한 다양한 입체적 형태의 성형 방식을 실험을 통해 살펴보고 조형적으로 활용 가능한 방법을 선정 하여 도식화하여 정리하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구는 크게 세 가지 방식으로 분류할 수 있다. 먼저, 순차적으로 면을 연장하여 구축하는 방식에서는 평면형과 곡선형 및 선형의 가공을 중심으로 진행하였고, 일체형 틀을 제작하여 가공하는 방식으로는 아세테이트지를 이용한 틀 제작을 통해 음각과 양각의 패턴 표현 및 곡선형의 형태 틀을 제작하는 방식을 실험하고 각 실험에는 형태에 적합한 배색방식을 사용하였다. 또한, 플러스터 백을 사용하여 입체와 패턴을 가공하는 방식에서는 플라스틱 백과 플라스틱 용기를 활용하여 표현 할 수 있는 에폭시 레진의 가공 방법을 실험하였다. 본 연구는 선행 연구인 <에폭시와 안료를 이용한 회화적 표현 방법 연구>와 <에폭시의 배색 효과 표현법 연구 Ⅰ>에서 제시한 에폭시 레진의 평면적 가공, 회화적 표현법, 발색 단계 및 배색의 표현법을 바탕으로 입체적인 형태의 구축으로 확장된 연구이다. 에폭시는 온도나 점성의 변화에 의한 변수가 많은 재료이기에 본 연구는 동일 실험을 최소 5회 이상 반복하여 도출된 평균적인 결과 값을 사용하였고, 변수 발생이 많은 실험 결과는 본 연구에서 제외하였다. 결과적으로 실험을 통해 에폭시의 다양한 입체 구성 방식의 기본틀을 제시함으로써, 이를 통한 이미지 표현의 활용법을 제시할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 에폭시의 입체 형태 표현이 중점이 되는 연구로, 이를 통해 조형 재료의 적용에 있어 활용 가치가 있는 자료를 제 공하고자 한다. Based on the experiment on the three-dimensional processing of epoxy resin in the third year of the study, < A Study on Expression Methods of the Color Combination Effect Epoxy Resins Ⅰ >, this study aimed the molding methods of various three-dimensional forms by using epoxy, and selected the methods that can be used formatively to summarize by schematizing them. The research can be classified into three ways. The method of continuously extending the surface was to focus on planar, curved, and linear processing. The method of integrated molds was to produce acetate film frames, and the method of producing pattern expression and curved molds was used in each experiment with color schem. Also, it experimented the processing method of epoxy resin, which can be expressed by using plastic bags and plastic containers, in the method of processing solids and patterns using plastic bags. It is an expanded study by constructing the three-dimensional form based on the planar processing of epoxy resins, pictorial expression, coloration phase, and color combination expression presented in the precedent studies 「Methods of Pictorial Expression with Combination of Epoxy and Pigment」 and < A Study on Expression Methods of the Color Combination Effect Epoxy ResinsⅠ >. Since epoxy is a material that has many variables by changes in temperature or viscosity, in this study, it used the average result value derived by repeating the same experiment at least five times, and also the experimental results with high variable generation were excluded. As a result, by presenting the basic frame of various three-dimensional composition methods of epoxy through experiments, it was possible to suggest the use of image expression through this. This study focuses on the expression of the three-dimensional form of epoxy. Through this, it intends to provide the data with value for practical use in the application of formative materials.

        초등학생이 지각한 긍정적 양육태도와 자아존중감, 학업열의 간의 구조적 관계 분석

        본 연구는 초등학생이 지각한 부모의 긍정적 양육태도가 자아존중감을 매개로 학업열의에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 규명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구는 한국 아동·청소년 패널조사 2018(KCYPS 2018)의 제2차년도 자료를 활용하였으며, 연구대상자로 초등학교 5학년 2,437명(남학생 1,221명, 여학생 1,216명)이 포함되었고, 수집된 자료를 SPSS Statistics 26, Amos 26 프로그램을 활용하여 구조방정식모형(SEM) 분석을 하였다. 연구결과 초등학생이 지각한 긍정적 양육태도의 따스함, 자율성 지지, 구조 제공의 구성요소는 자아존중감을 완전 매개하여 간접적으로 학업열의에 유의한 영향을 미쳤고, 영향도는 자율성 지지, 구조 제공, 따스함의 순서였다. 이에 따른 시사점은 부모가 자녀에게 자율성 지지, 구조 제공, 따스함을 갖춰 자녀가 자율성과 유능성, 관계성을 고취할 수 있도록 부모의 인식 개선 및 체계적 양육태도의 교육과 상담이 제도적 시스템으로 구축될 필요가 있으며, 이러한 서비스는 필요할 때 즉시에 손쉽게 제공받을 수 있도록 네트워크 형성이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 또한 초등학생의 긍정적 자아존중감 함양을 위해 가정과 연계한 학년 발달 단계에 맞는 체계적 프로그램의 시행이 지속적이고 실효성 있게 추진되어야 한다. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of the positive parenting attitude of parents perceived by elementary school students on academic engagement through self-esteem. For the study, the 2019 survey data of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 (KCYPS 2018) were used, and 2,437 fourth graders (1,221 boys and 1,216 girls) were selected for the study. The collected data were used by SPSS Statistics 26 and Amos 26 programs to perform Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis. The results of the study are components of the warmth, autonomy support, and structure of positive parenting attitudes perceived by elementary school students indirectly affect academic engagement by fully mediating self-esteem. Influence levels are the order of autonomy support, structure, and warmth. The implications derived from this study are as follows: In order to directly increase the self-esteem of elementary school students and indirectly increase the academic engagement of elementary school students, parental awareness needs to be improved. and parental education should be provided to enhance the positive parenting attitude of parents. The education and counseling of parenting needs to be systematic, and parental education programs should be readily available when services are needed. Next, in order to increase elementary school students' academic engagement, programs to foster positive self-esteem are requested, and systematic programs suitable for the stage of child development should be implemented steadily and effectively with sufficient time.
