Square is the most important public space in the city. It always has special relationship with the city. And it relationship with place. Place with several meanings represent the identity of the city. The research from this perspective, place and identity in the plaza of the city is to clarify the relationship in Xi'an that the most famous historic city in China. To clarify this relationship, that place would be divided historical significance and cultural meaning, And identity of city would be divided historical context and the local cultural context.

Ranging from ancient to modern times, the marketplace was always the most important part of public life. The spatial value of the marketplace is that with the change of the city, citizens living space will be transformed into an increasingly civic culture space. Today, the bustling street markets from the beginning will not be like this. The purpose of this study is illuminate the market placement and spatial characteristics, of Chinese former capital. In this study, unified chinese capital from Han dynasty to Qing dynasty were analyzed the market placement and spatial characteristics by each period.

With this thought, this study comparison classic square and modern square to inquire forming classic square Ideas or theories and factors that affect the construction of a modern square.

Thousands of years, the plaza is a genre of human civilization history. The plaza that the most important part of the city, was changing and developing constant dynamically with city transition. The passed half of century, China constructed a lot of emerging cities. These emerging cities constructed a lot of plazas for finding the solution of shortage public spaces. Changchun that one of the most important industrial city in China, constructions many plazas. Through this research, finding urban function and meaning of plaza will be useful in planning plaza to urban construction in future.

To detect the water stress early before the appearance of morphological stress symptoms, the morphological changes, chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence and spectral reflectance of leaves were analyzed in Arabidopsis thaliana and Glycine max growing in water stress conditions. While the morphological changes including wilting, stem thinning and leaf rolling appeared clearly after 5 days exposure to drought, the increase of chlorophyll content and the decrease of chlorophyll fluorescence and spectral reflectance at 450-700 nm wavelength of leaves appeared after 3 days exposed to drought. The results obtained in this study indicate that drought enhances local chlorophyll content temporarily and reduces chlorophyll fluorescence and spectral reflectance early before the appearance of morphological changes. The light-related physiological parameters used in this experiment might tell us when the plants feel thirsty and could be used for us to decide when the water supply is not too late to minimize plant damage and to reduce yield loss. 외형적인 증상이 나타나기 전에 수분 스트레스의 조기 탐지가 가능한지를 알아보기 위해 가뭄에 노출하여 성장시킨 Arabidopsis thaliana와 Glycine max의 형태적 변화, 엽록소 농도, 엽록소 형광 및 반사율을 분석해 보았다. 시듦, 줄기 가늘어짐 및 잎 말림을 포함하는 형태적 변화가 가뭄 노출 5일 째부터 일어나는 반면 잎의 국부적인 엽록소 농도 증가와 엽록소 형광 및 500~600nm 영역에서의 반사율 저하는 가뭄 노출 2일째부터 나타났다. 본 실험 결과는 수분 스트레스가 형태적인 증상들이 나타나기 전에 일시적으로 엽록소 농도를 증가시키며 엽록소 형광과 반사율은 감소시킴을 보여준다. 본 실험에서 사용된 빛과 관련된 생리적 지표들은 식물이 물 부족을 언제 느끼며, 우리가 언제 물을 줘야 식물의 피해를 최소화하여 생산성 감소를 줄일 수 있는지를 알려줄 것이다.

In a bid to tackle the problems related with the welfare of seniors who are increasing in number everyday, a plan for complex facilities for seniors was come up with. This seems to be a help for securing a land whose price is rising in the city and good intercourse among seniors and other users. In order to study on the plan for complex facilities for seniors that can be constructed in evert medium region, the researchers of this study selected 25 welfare centers in Seoul which are considered as complex facilities for seniors. Then, the researchers classified them based on spatial characteristics. Moreover, investigation on the status quo of space and programs for users and interview of experts were carried out. Through this study, the researchers reached a conclusion as follow. The space needs to be classified and divided according to each function of a space based on the users’ body and health conditions. Moreover, a convenience space for natural intercourse between people also needs to be increased in number for common use. The researchers proposed a new urban-style complex facility for seniors for the sake of community improvement rather than the previous complexation with a specific facility.
